Lesson stage Warm up and checking homework

Objectives

Activities Informal conversation, the teachers check the homework and explain the mistakes. The students correct their homework. The teachers invite the students to a game of Hangman and divide the class into three rows. The empty spots are then written on the whiteboard and the students are asked, one at a time from each row, to give a letter in order to build the answer. The winning team is the one that guesses the answer first. The answer is: I can trick or treat! The students look at the pictures in exercise A and they write down what the pictures represent. E.g.: Its a wolf. The students solve exercise B, where they have to write the nationalities corresponding to each country and the country corresponding to each nationality. E.g.: Britain - British Students work on exercise C, where they have to underline the correct forms of the verbs and pronouns given. E.g. I has/have got a bottle of perfume. Students look at the pictures in exercise D. They write sentences using the words given about the images, practicing the use of Present Continuous. E.g.: They are watching (watch) a film.

The students look at the picture in exercise E. They read the sentences regarding the image and choose the correct preposition. E.g.: There are two baskets the table. A. Under B. on The students turn to exercise F, where they have to match the pictures with the correct statement. The teachers invite the students to a game in which a set of grammatically wrong sentences that use the Present Simple are written on the whiteboard. The class is then divided into three rows and, one at a time from each row, have to spot the mistakes and say the correct form of the Present Simple. The winning team is the one that spots the most mistakes. E.g.: The teachers is wonderful. wrong The teachers are wonderful. correct Sentences : 1. I is a good student. 2. The car have four wheels. 3. School am good for you. 4. Ice cream are cold. 5. The children has a dog. 6. Christmas are my favorite holiday. The teachers give exercise G and exercise I as homework, explaining what they need to do. The teachers praise all the students for their active participation.
