Is it suitable? Genre, narrative and any research thats been undertaken)

Queen Elizabeth college photo studio.

For my magazine I need a medium shot of my chosen model on the front page. The location here does not particularly need to relate to me genre as I can use lighting and effects in the studio.

Access issues: As its a college studio you will have to book it or wait till other people have finished using it as everyone might need to do their work in there at the same time.

Lighting issues: Lighting issues will not be a problem as the studio comes with lights. But I will need to use the lights in a particular way to gain the right affect so I will need a decent amount of time to get the best photo possible to put forward in the magazine.

Risk Assessment of location

Highlight all hazards that apply at this location.

o Access o Animals / Insects 0 Audience / Public o Cables o Communication Failure o Confined Spaces o Costume / Make-up o Derelict buildings / Dangerous structures o Electricity o Fire / Flammable material o First Aid o Food Hygiene o Heights o Hostile / Remote environment o Machinery o Lighting o Lone working o Night operation o Noise o Roads

Evaluate all the hazards ticked. Hazard: Cables What could cause harm? Due to the lights and cameras cables will be all around the floor which can cause people to trip or fall when working on the set including me or the models. What is the likelihood of this happening? 5/10

How much harm? Could either be a lot or nothing. Depends on where you fall. Apply the following priorities, how will this risk be managed (provide detail)?
Well we could tape down the cables so they are not so prominent and then that will lower the risk in tripping over them. By warning the select people around the cables so they are aware of the situation.

Hazard: Lighting What could cause harm? As they are large studio lights they could fall or collapse on the model or photographer. What is the likelihood of this happening? Not such of a high risk if they are set up properly. How much harm? Could cause severe injuries if they fell on the head.

Apply the following priorities, how will this risk be managed (provide detail)?
( We need the lighting present in the shoot, we can make sure that they are properly set up and stable before entering the room or using them we can isolate them to a certain extent, just so they are not near the people. WE can warn people about the hazard to make them weary about the situation.
