You must read and understand the precautions and guidelines in Service Information, Function Group 30, "General Safety Practices, Electrical" before performing this procedure. If you are not properly trained and certified in this procedure, ask your supervisor for training before you perform it.

DANGER
Do not attempt to repair or service this vehicle without sufficient training, the correct service literature and the proper tools. Failure to follow this could make the vehicle unsafe and lead to serious personal injury or death.

Removal

3 If equipped with a main battery disconnect switch, turn the switch to the OFF position. 4 Disconnect all cables from the negative battery terminals to prevent personal injury from electrical shock and prevent damage to electrical components. Note: Pay attention to which cables are stacked on top of each other, with smaller cables typically stacked on top of larger cables.

5 System Check: Connect a 3prong extension cord to the CAB POWER shore power receptacle: 1 Verify that 120V is getting to the inverter. The displays LED will be green. If the LED is flashing green this means that the batteries are charging. 2 Verify that 120V is getting to the outlets in the bunk, by plugging in any of the customers 120V devices, or a 120V drop light. If the outlets are not functioning, check the following. 1 The circuit breaker on the side of the inverter has been tripped. Press to reset. 2 That the ON/OFF switch in the Load Center on the bulkhead is turned to the ON position. 3 The displays LED will be red if there is fault condition, and the inverter has shut itself down, or it will not turn on. Note: If error codes are shown on the display, for example E01 refer to the Xantrex owners manual for explanation and troubleshooting.

4 Remove the 120V extension cord. 5 Verify that the inverter is working properly (converting battery power into AC power): Turn the inverter to the ON position and check to see that inverter display shows battery voltage. The displays LED will turn to yellow. 6 Check to see that the electrical appliances are functioning properly.

Note: For explanations and troubleshooting fault conditions refer to the Xantrex owners manual. 6 If the truck is not going to be used immediately and is equipped with a main battery disconnect switch, turn the switch to the OFF position. 7 Install the side faring.
