LOCKMILLER EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

What: Thanks to an estate gift by Alice Lockmiller, we are able to offer a book scholarship to help offset
college expenses. This book scholarship may be applied to the cost of textbooks and course material packets for
college classes and post-graduate work.

Amount: Up to $250 for part-time students per academic school year and up to $500 for full-time students per
academic school year.

Requirements:
1) Submit the attached application form.
2) Must be an active member of Belleview United Methodist Church. Active is defined as someone who is
regular in their worship attendance and is also involved in at least one regular ongoing ministry of the
church. Note: if a student is away at college, regular attendance and participation in a college campus
ministry or local congregation will count. We will need a letter of verification from the campus ministry
director or church pastor.
3) Must be enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university and be a student in good
standing. A letter of good standing is needed from the school after the drop/add date for each semester in
which funds are being applied for.
4) Must submit copies of receipts for textbooks or course material packets purchased. We will reimburse
up to the specified amount with documentation depending on a students classification (part-time or fulltime). If the total amount is used by a student in a single semester, they will not be eligible for
reimbursement in other semesters of that academic school year.

Deadlines: The deadlines for receipt of the application and all supporting materials are as follows: For the fall
academic semester, October 1, and for the spring academic semester, February 1. Please send your materials to
the attention of the Finance Committee marked Lockmiller Scholarship.
