Grading:

Grades will be based on a 500 point scale: 3 - 1 hour exams worth 100 points each - if you are unable to attend an exam, you must make arrangements with Dr. Madsen prior to the exam 1 - Lab grade worth 200 points (Lab grade will consist of three lab quizzes worth 50 points each, and assignments to be handed-in at the end of each lab worth a total of 50 points) Course letter grades will be assigned as follows: Total score > 449 449 - 436 435 - 421 420 - 401 400 - 386 385 - 371 370 - 351 350 - 336 335 - 321 320 - 301 300 - 286 <286 Percentage Score (of 500 total points) 100 - 90 89.8 - 87.2 87 - 84.2 84 - 80.2 80 - 77.2 77 - 74.2 74 - 70.2 70 - 67.2 67 - 64.2 64 - 60.2 60 - 57.2 57 - 0 Final Grade A AB+ B BC+ C CD+ D DF

Grading:

There will be three quizzes over material covered in the lab. Each quiz will be worth 50 points. There will be assignments to be completed by the end of each lab. These assignments will total 50 points. These 200 points represent 40% of your total course grade, thus if you wish to do well in the course it is important that you attend all labs. If you are unable to attend a Lab Quiz, you must make arrangements with your T.A.prior to the Quiz. The assignments to be completed during the lab must be turned in before leaving lab. There will be no late hand-ins.
