Note:
(i) The candidates should not have less than 50% marks for SC/ST/ PH and 55% marks for Others,
taking average of all semesters / year irrespective of the weightage given to any particular
semester / year by the University / Institute.
(ii) Final semester / year students who expect their result by 01.08.2009 may also apply and their
candidature will be subject to obtaining the percentage of marks, prescribed above.
(iii) The candidate with the prescribed degree identified for the discipline as given above can only
apply for the post of ETs in the respective disciplines.
COMPENSATION PACKAGE:
During the training period of one year, Executive Trainees will draw Basic Pay of Rs. 8600/- and
IDA, along with other benefits, such as Project Allowance, Special Compensatory Allowance,
Liveries, Shift Allowance, HRA/ Company leased Accommodation, etc., as per the rules of the
Nigam. On successful completion of Training period they will be placed in the regular Pay Scale of
Rs. 10750-16750/- at E2A level (Due for upward revision w.e.f. 01.01.2007) and shall be on
probation for a period of one year.
PLACEMENT:
The selected Trainees shall undergo one year training at various places. The final place of posting
will be allocated after successful completion of training. Candidates can be placed anywhere in India
or abroad, in any of the functions at Projects/ Stations or offices.
AGE LIMIT:
Upper Age Limit is 30 years as on closing date of advertisement.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Written Test: The eligible candidates will be required to undergo a Written Test at Shimla. The test
will be in two parts, Part-I will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions of the relevant technical
discipline and Part-II will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions on Executive Aptitude Test.
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
1. The candidate should not have attained the Upper Age prescribed above as on the closing date
of the advertisement.
2. Persons working under Central/State Govt./Public Sector Undertakings should submit their
application through proper channel. They may, however, send one advance copy of the
application along with requisite enclosures.
3. Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected.
4. All qualifications should be full time regular courses from an Indian University / Institute
recognized by AICTE / appropriate statutory authority.
5. Candidates appearing in the final year semester examination should bring their identity card of
the Institution / College.
6. The candidates applying should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions. Their admission
at all the stages of the Written Test/Interview will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the
prescribed eligibility conditions. Mere issue of Admission Certificate/Interview Call Letter to
the candidate will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by SJVN. SJVN
will take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents at the
time of Personal Interview.
7. While filling in application form, the candidate should carefully decide about his choice for the
discipline for the written test. More than one application from a candidate giving different
disciplines will not be accepted in any case. Even if a candidate sends more than one
completed application the SJVN will accept only one application at their discretion and the
SJVN’s decision in the matter shall be final.
8. In case it is detected at any stage that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her
candidature shall be rejected/cancelled without assigning any reason, thereof. Similarly, even
after joining, if it is found that he/she has furnished any incorrect information or suppressed any
material information, his/her services shall be summarily terminated.
9. The decision of the SJVN as to the eligibility or otherwise of a candidate for admission to the
Written test/Interview shall be final.
10. The candidates called for the Personal Interview will be reimbursed return rail/bus fare by
shortest route as per the rules of the Nigam.
11. Only Indian Nationals need apply.
12. Applications received after the closing date shall neither be entertained nor returned.
13. The management reserves the right to increase/decrease the number of posts or consider for
lower posts/grade or not to fill up any of the posts or raise the minimum eligibility standards
/ cancel candidature of any candidate / or cancel recruitment process without assigning any
reason. Merely meeting the above qualifications and experience shall not entitle a candidate to
be called for Interview/Selection process.
14. As the number of posts to be filled may vary, the number of projected posts in reserved
category are also likely to undergo change, accordingly.
15. In case any ambiguity / dispute arises on account of interpretation in versions other than
English, English version will prevail.
16. Any legal proceedings in respect of any matter of claim or dispute arising out of this
advertisement and/or an application in response thereto can be instituted only in Shimla and
courts/tribunals/forums at Shimla only shall have sole and exclusive jurisdiction to try any such
cause/dispute.
CONDITIONS FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTS:
1. There is no age bar for Internal Applicants.
2. Internal Engineers possessing the qualification of AMIE are also eligible for the above posts in
Engineering disciplines.
IMPORTANT
1. Candidates to ensure their eligibility before applying:
The candidates should ensure that they fulfil all eligibility conditions. Their candidature at all
the stages will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Mere issuance of Interview call letter will not imply that his/her candidature has been finally
cleared by SJVN.
SJVN will take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents
only at the stage of Interview.
2. The candidates must ensure that duly filled in applications complete in all aspects is sent only
by post well in advance so as to avoid rejection on account of late receipt.

2. Applications in the prescribed format along with attested copies of testimonials in support of
Age, Caste, Education, Experience etc. and non-refundable Demand Draft of Rs. 150/- (SC/ST
and PH exempted) drawn in favour of Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited payable at Shimla,
should be sent only by ordinary post to the Dy. General Manager (P&A), Recruitment Cell,
Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited, Himfed Building, New Shimla – 171 009 (HP). The
‘Advt. No.’ ‘Category’ and the ‘Post Applied For’ should be mentioned on the envelope so as
to reach on or before the closing date.
3. Candidate should clearly note that the SJVN will in no case be responsible for rejection
of application on account of application being incomplete, non-receipt of application or
any delay in receipt thereof on any account whatsoever. Application received after the
prescribed closing date will not be entertained under any circumstances and all such
applications will be summarily rejected. The applicants should therefore, ensure that
their applications reach SJVN office on or before the prescribed closing date.
