Directors Note

The Cast
Chris Banken (Doody) is a junior from Blaine, MN majoring in Vocal Music Education with a minor in Spanish. This is Chriss first main stage production here at Concordia College, but he took part performing in the Directing Scenes One Act class his freshman year. Outside of theatre, he is a singer in the Concordia Choir, the Junior Class Representative for Student Government, was a member of the Orientation Committee, and works in the Office of Enrollment as a Student Ambassador. David Beery (Eugene) is a senior from Bozeman, MT majoring in Global Studies and Spanish. David was last seen playing Duke Orsino in a production of Twelfth Night. Joshua Conroy (Kenickie) is a junior from Stillwater, MN majoring in Sociology and Music. Joshua is new to Concordia Theatre, but has been involved in stage performances of La Bohme, La Traviata, Bye Bye, Birdie, and Little Shop of Horrors. Joshua is a Bass II in The Concordia Choir, and is a music scholarship recipient in Voice. Molly Deitz (Marty) is a senior from Alexandria, MN majoring in Elementary Education. Molly performed in Concordias production of Cabaret and Elegies: A Song Cycle. Molly is a Soprano II in the Concordia Choir where she also serves as the Vice President. Molly has enjoyed working with the cast of Grease as the assistant choreographer.

Erin Evans (Cha-Cha) is a sophomore from Gaylord, MN majoring in Social Work. The musical Grease will be her first debut in Concordia Theatre. Erin also enjoys working at Cobber Kids and singing in the choir. She is excited to be involved with Concordia Theatre and would like to thank her family and friends for their continued support. Ben Fink (Additional Boy) is a sophomore from Fairmont, MN majoring in Theatre Art. He has previously performed in Return to the Forbidden Planet as Captain Tempest and Story Theater as an ensemble member here at Concordia, as well as in MTFMs production of Chicago. He is also a manager of Campus Lights on campus, and recently completed his first lighting design for Rachel Bradys Senior Thesis production of Melancholy Play.

The Cast
Casey Gardner (Teen Angel) is a senior from Bloomington, MN majoring in English Writing and Music. Grease is his first theatrical production at Concordia. Casey is also involved in Concert Choir and sings in a barbershop quartet. Mr. Smith is his favorite person on campus.

Brad Hoelscher

Brad Hoelscher (Sonny) is a freshman from St. Cloud, Minnesota majoring in Theatre and Education. This is his first production with the Concordia Theatre program. At his high school he started getting involved in acting during his sophomore year. Since then he has been involved in productions of Dont Tell Mother, Cash on Delivery, Curtains, Twelve Angry Jurors, and directed Arsenic and Old Lace. He is now a Theatre scholar at Concordia and cant wait to make his first showings on the Comstock stage.

Maggie Larrivee (Frenchy) is a junior from Bismarck, North Dakota majoring inTheatreArt and Communication Studies. Maggies experience with Concordia Theatre includes acting in the Beginning and Advanced Directing Scene and One-Act showcases,as well performing as an ensemble member in the senior thesis project [constructed] last spring. She has Maggie Larrivee also participated in many other campus activities, such as Concordia On-Air, Scandinavian Club, and Cantabile and Bel Canto choirs. Maggie also works as a TA in the Box Office/Audience Development Group. Devan Luth (Additional Pink Lady) is a freshman from Savage, MN majoring in psychology and minoring in communications. This is Devans first show at Concordia. She is in the freshman womens choir, Cantabile and also works for admissions on the special event squad. Amanda May (Miss Lynch) is a senior from California double majoring in Public Relations and Business. Amanda has been involved in theatre, among other things, since her freshman year. You may have seen her in Concordia Theatres productions of Cabaret, Eurydice, or Return to the Forbidden Planet. Karli Mazzone (Additional Pink Lady) is a freshman from Rapid City, SD majoring in Elementary Education. This is Karlis first show with Concordia Theatre but hopefully not the last. Shes super grateful to be part of a great show with such an awesome cast.

The Cast
Max Muehleip (Roger) is a junior from Dubuque, IA majoring in Biology with Chemistry and German minors. Hes played Snoopy in Youre a Good Man Charlie Brown, Tom Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie, and Jack Worthing in The Importance of Being Earnest among many, although this is his first at Concordia. He received the Presidential Distinction Scholarship, enjoys playing guitar, and hanging out with friends and his girlfriend Maya when he can. Kersti Pearson (Patty) is a junior from Dawson MN. She is double majoring in English Literature and Theater. Her journey with Concordia theatre began as Assistant to the Music director for Godspell, and continued on as she started volunteering in the costume shop. Kersti was a member of the Omnes Crew in Return to the Forbidden Planet, and Woman 2 in [constructed]. Liz Rahn (Additional Pink Lady) is a sophomore English Literature and Communication Studies Education major and theatre scholar from New Prague, Minnesota. This is the third show at Concordia that Liz has been involved with, the others including assistant stage manager for What the Butler Saw and acting in Ah, Wilderness! Liz is also a member of the Concordia Chapel Choir and Temple Band through CMC. Anna Rice (Rizzo) is a junior from Moorhead, MN, majoring in Public Relations and Theatre Art with a minor in Art. Acting roles on campus include: Belle in Ah, Wilderness!, Big Stone in Eurydice, JoAnn in Godspell, Gloria in Wait Until Dark, and a Kit Kat Dancer in Cabaret. She is a member of the Audience Development Group and manages the Box Office. Anna is a Theatre Scholar and Vice-President of the theatres honor society, Alpha Psi Omega. Logan Rydell (Vince Fontaine) is a freshman at Concordia going for a Theater/Communication Major. Past roles include Charlie Cowell in The Music Man, and Algernon Moncrieff in The Importance of Being Earnest. Outside of theater, Logan is an amateur author currently working on his first book.

The Cast
Brandon Salden (Additonal Boy) is a freshman from Shakopee, Minnesota majoring in Instrumental Music Education while minoring in Spanish. This is his first production with Concordia theatre, but has been a part of the theatrical world at his high school since seventh grade. He plays clarinet in the Symphonic band, is a part of a Brandon Salden clarinet quartet, and sings bass 2 in Mannerchor. He is really excited to be a part of Grease and hopes that everyone enjoys the show. Tiffany Sieu (Sandy) is a sophomore from Willmar, MN majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Mathematics. Tiffany is the recipient of the Concordia Presidential Scholarship. She began her involvement in Concordia Theatre her freshman year with Return to the Forbidden Planet and One Act. Tiffany is also involved in Bel Canto and Vocal Jazz II and is a tutor through the America Reads program. Derek Steinke (Danny) is a senior from Golden Valley, MN majoring in Graphic Design and minoring in Business. Derek is the recipient of a voice scholarship. He was a member of the chorus in Anything Goes as a junior in high school and had a small part in Lil Abner his senior year. Outside of school, Derek enjoys singing in Concert Choir, playing guitar, and drawing. Hannah Wehlage (Jan) is a sophomore from Lakeville, MN majoring inTheatre Art and English Literature. Hannah has been involved in several shows here at Concordia, including Return to the Forbidden Planet, Bagel Club, Oedi, and Story Theatre. Hannah is a Theatre Scholar, works as a TA in the Audience Development Group for the theatre, and received an Irene Ryan Nomination for her performance in StoryTheatre.

John Wiehe (Johnny Casino) is a freshman from Roseville, MN majoring in Business with a Health Care Management focus. John is very excited to be in his first show with Concordia Theatre! He was in productions such as Chicago, Seussical, Pirates of Penzance, Beauty and the Beast, Zombie Prom and Thoroughly Modern Millie with Roseville Area High School Theatre.

The Crew
Hannah Amundson (Asst. Stage Manager) is a freshman at Concordia College. She is from Fargo, North Dakota and has been involved in theatre most of her high school career. This is her first Concordia Theatre experience. Besides theatre, she enjoys singing in Cantabile. She hopes you enjoy the performance! Amanda Bohn (Sound Board Operator) is a freshman from Justice,IL who is majoring in Communication Studies andTheatre Arts.This will be the third show Amanda has helped with since coming to Minnesota. Previous work in the area included Chicago (at FMCT), The Foreigner, and now Grease.Amanda also runs sound and video for DMS on campus. Rachel Brady (House Manager) is a senior from Minneapolis, MN majoring in Sociology and Theatre Art. Fresh off directing Melancholy Play as her thesis project, shes excited to be working on her very last Concordia Theatre production. A member of the Audience Development Group and Theatre Scholars Committee, Rachels favorite Cobber Theatre memories include playing Eurydice in Ruhls Eurydice, and stage managing What the Butler Saw last fall. Axl Dahl (Backstage Crew) is currently a sophomore at Concordia College. He plans to double major in Theatre, and Premed. He has received a scholarship for academics. He has been involved in Concordia theatre since last year. He also participated in the Concordia Mannerchor. Erin Delong (Asst. House Manager) is a freshman this year at Concordia College. She is currently looking into a Communications Mass Media major. She has received a couple scholarships including the Performing Arts scholarship for theatre. Erin performed in 3 productions and was on crew for 1 in high school. She is very excited to be getting into the theatre experience again. Erin loves to read and go camping in her spare time. Kelsey Engel (Follow Spots) is a sophomore from Detroit Lakes, MN. She is currently undecided on a major but takes special interest in English Literature, History, and Religion. She is a former Post-Secondary Education Option student here at Concordia College, and has been awarded the Presidential Scholarship. This will be Kelseys third experience with Concordia Theatre, having been Backstage Coordinator for Story Theatre, and Assistant Stage Manager for The Foreigner most recently. She is excited to join the lighting crew and hopes you thoroughly enjoy the show! Jonathan Fondell (Follow Spots) is a freshman from Dawson, MN majoring in theatre. A theatre scholar, he has been involved in Concordia theatre for two whole months now, having done set work and ushering for The Foreigner, and acting in Melancholy Play.

The Crew
Megan Garry (Backstage Crew) is a sophomore from Webster, South Dakota. She is pursuing a major in Theatre Arts and a minor in Psychology with the help of the Presidential Scholarship. Last year, she was seen onstage as part of the cast of Story Theater while this year she worked as Assistant House Manager for The Foreigner. Besides theatre, Megan is also secretary for Concordias Straight and Gay Alliance and plays alto sax for Concordia Echo Band. Missy Hildebrandt (Light Board Operator) is a juniorTheater and Classical Studies major from Plymouth, MN. She is a campus lights manager, a member of the theater honor society APO, and on theTheater Scholarship committee. Missy has done quite a bit of acting in the past on Concordias stage and excited to be the light board operator for Grease. Cady Hittman (Backstage Crew) is a freshman from Moorhead, MN majoring in Environmental Studies. She worked on both the scenery and backstage crews for numerous shows in high school such as High School Musical, Blood Brothers, and Tommy. Grease is her first Concordia theatre production. Shea Hittman (Stage Manager) is a junior from Moorhead, MN majoring in Theatre Arts with a minor in Communications. Shea spent her summer working at The Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY as a Stage Management Intern. Her Concordia Theatre stage management credits include Return to the Forbidden Planet and Elegies, she also worked on the house management team for Ah, Wilderness! and Story Theatre. Shea also works in the Facilities Management office and for Campus Lights. Rachel Honz (Follow Spots), a native of St. Louis, MO, is currently in her sophomore year studying Vocal Music Education as a Regent and Theatre Scholar. Highlights of her previous ConcordiaTheatre experiences have been performing in the senior thesis project [constructed] and house managing for The Foreigner. Rachel works as a Peer Mentor for the Student Success Office and is a member of the Student Environmental Alliance. Jocelyn Horazdovsky (Co-Master Electrician) is a sophomore from Andover, MN majoring in Communication Studies with a Mass Media emphasis. She has worked with lighting for Ah, Wilderness! and Story Theatre. She was also an Assistant House Manager for The Foreigner. Jocelyn is a Lighting TA and a Resident Assistant. Heather Hurner (Makeup/Costume Crew) is a sophomore from Moorhead, MN. This is her first year attending Concordia and first year involved in Concordia Theatre. She has been involved with Trollwood Performing Arts Schools hair and makeup crew for 5 years and performed in Moorhead High Schools theatre productions for 4 years.

The Crew
Hailey Kassulker (Follow Spots) is a freshman from New Germany, MN who has ideas of pursuing a major in either Theatre or Music. During her free time she loves taking naps and hanging out with friends. Apart from Theatre, Hailey is a member and manager of the Cantabile choir. Hailey also ushered for The Foreigner earlier this year. Nicole Kippen (Makeup/Costume Crew) is a freshman majoring in Theatre with a minor in Spanish and is from West Fargo, ND. This is her first show here at Concordia, although she has been involved in theatre since she was nine. Nicole, outside of theatre, loves to write, blog about her college experience, and make others laugh. She is just tickled pink to be working on such a fantastic show. Morgan Lewis (Sound Designer) is a junior from Detroit Lakes, MN majoring in Theatre Art. Morgan has held the position of Light Board Operator for What the Butler Saw, Live Mixer for Return to the Forbidden Planet and Sound Designer for Ah, Wilderness!andThe Foreigner. Morgan is also a Scene Shop and SoundTechnicalAssistant. Sam Malmberg (Co-Props Master) is a senior from Walnut Grove, MN majoring in Theatre Art and Classical Studies. Sam has been involved in Concordia Theatre since his freshman year. He has performed in several productions including The Foreigner, Return to the Forbidden Planet,Eurydice, andAh,Wilderness! Sam also works as aTA in the scene shop. Stefanie Miller (Follow Spots) is a sophomore from Fergus Falls, MN majoring in psychology and mathematics and received the Faculty Scholarship from Concordia. This is the first year of being involved in the Concordia theatre and shes looking forward to the experience. Before Concordia, Stef has acted in several productions for the Fergus Falls Community Theatre as well as working as a sound board technician and doing lighting for two productions for the Fergus Falls High School. Justin Nelson (Asst. House Manager) is from East Grand Forks, Minnesota. He is currently a senior at Concordia College, double majoring in Theatre Arts and Business. Focusing primarily on acting, Justin also worked as aTA in the scene shop last year, and is this year pursuing theatre management. Besides the theatre company, Justin also sings in the Concordia Chapel Choir, and is a member of the theatres honor society,Alpha Psi Omega. Sarah Odendahl (Co-Props Master) is a junior from Pine City, Minnesota. She is a Theatre Arts major and Music and English Writing minor. Over her time at Concordia, Sarah has worked as the props master for four mainstage shows, been an assistant house manager, and worked in the scene shop. She has also acted in the one-act festivals in the spring of each school year. Sarah is a presidential scholarship recipient and is also a member of the Concordia Chapel Choir.

The Crew
Colton Otterness (Scenery Crew) is currently pursuing a Major in Computer Science as well as a Minor in Sociology. He is a junior from Nevis, MN, who works as a Scene ShopTA at Concordia College. He was awarded theTheatre Scholarship and has been a part of every main stage production in the years he has been at Concordia College. He has done a variety of backstage work from special effects to run crew to building the sets in the scene shop. Marty Pederson (Co-Master Electrician) is a junior from Castle Rock,WA currently living in Moorhead, and is studying Psychology with a minor in Theatre. He is attending Concordia on Theater and Academic Scholarships. Marty has appeared on the Concordia mainstage in The Foreigner, Ah! Wilderness, What the Butler Saw, and 12th Night. Besides acting Marty is also a lighting Technical Assistant for the theater and has provided tech for several other Concordia productions. Melissa Richter (Asst. Stage Manager) is a freshman from Sartell, MN and is currently an undecided major. As one of the Assistant Stage Managers for Grease, this is the first show Melissa has been a part of at Concordia. However, she has acted in countless productions throughout her life most recently including Reefer Madness, The Pajama Game, Jekyll and Hyde, and Arsenic and Old Lace. Outside of theatre, Melissa is involved in choir and has a job on campus. Andrew Rudd (Sound Board Operator) is a sophomore hailing from the small town of Askov, MN. He is majoring in English Writing and Theatre Arts. At Concordia, he was recently on the Mainstage in The Foreigner and has been on crew for past shows including Return to the Forbidden Planet, Ah, Wilderness, and has been involved in the One Act Festival, appearing in the show Bang, Bang, Youre Dead. Outside of the theatre, he sings in Concordias Chapel Choir and is a member of SAGA. Eleanor Sertich (Asst. House Manager) is a sophomore from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, majoring in French with minors in Classical Studies and English Literature. She is a Theatre Scholar who has been involved with Concordia Theatre on and off stage. Outside of Theatre, Ella is the secretary of the French club and a Music Director for KORD, Concordias campus radio station. Kathryn Stalnaker (Backstage Crew) is a sophomore from Clara City, MN. She is majoring in Studio Art and maybe Theatre. Kathryn has been Assistant House Manager for Ah,Wilderness!, and has also helped out in the Box Office. She was the recipient of the Concordia Art Scholarship and is involved in Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track.

The Crew/Orchestra
Trudy Sundquist (Makeup/Costume Crew) is a freshman and currently undeclared but is looking at maybe being an art major. Her hometown is Duluth, MN. This is her first time being involved with the Concordia Theater. Trudy is a recipient of the Concordia Congregational scholarship. Margaret Wollenzien (Makeup/Costume Crew) is a freshman from Minot, North Dakota. She is majoring in theatre, and has a theatre scholarship and an academic scholarship. She was an usher for The Foreigner, and has been in several shows prior, including Wizard of Oz, Romeo and Juliet, and Seussical the Musical. Margaret is also in SAGA and Cantible Choir. Jason Aylward (Bass) is a sophomore from Minneapolis, MN, majoring in Music Education with a minor in German. He was more involved with theatre last year, being privileged to have a role in last years production of Ah, Wilderness! as well as being involved in the one act plays. Jason is an active musician on campus, as well as the Fargo-Moorhead area, being involved with a number of campus ensembles, in addition to being a gigging jazz musician. While these activities have drastically reduced his involvement in theatre, he will always have a love and ardent appreciation for it Jeremie Bur (Guitar) is a sophomore at Concordia College from Marquette Michigan. He is a vocal performance major and has studied Jazz guitar for 6 years. Jack Dukatz (Tenor 1) is a junior from Eagan, MN majoring in Math, Music, and Spanish. This is his first production with Concordia theater, but he has also been involved in pit orchestra in high school. Outside of Grease, Jack plays alto sax in the Concordia Band, the Concordia Jazz Band, and is involved in a tri-college jazz combo. With what time is left after that, he works as a tutor in the math department. Kate Gantz (Tenor 2) is a junior from Eagan, MN majoring in Music Education. She is the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship and the Thomson Reuters Scholarship. This is her first musical with the theater program at Concordia. Kate also works as manager of the Concordia band, student manager of the Writing Center, and is the student director of the Cobber Athletic Band. Andrew Steinberg (Piano) is a senior Organ Performance Major from Oakdale, Minnesota. He has performed in previous shows including Caberet and Return to the Forbidden Planet. He is planning on attending graduate school to pursue Organ Performance.

The Orchestra
Matt Tingblad (Drums) is a junior from Anoka, MN studying music education in Concordias bachelor of music program with an emphasis in percussion. He is involved in many music ensembles, instructs the Night Fire Drum Line in Fargo, and leads a weekly bible study off campus. Nathan Waller (Keyboard and Asst. Director) is a junior Music Education Major from Watertown, MN. He participated in the pit for Return to the Forbidden Planet.
