Accommodations/Modifications/Assessments
Pretest will consist of an interview to individual students in an effort to assess student knowledge. This test will be administered prior to the beginning of the unit. Monitoring will be ongoing as students participate in a variety of activities including experiments, exploration of objects, and creation of unit related items. Permission has been granted to conduct water related activities in the outside courtyard. The art teacher has agreed to collaborate with me. We are going to work together and assist students in the creation of a snowflake. There is one ELL in this class. Teacher has printed several pictures of subject material to aid this student in the learning process. Also, there are a variety of visual aids such as videos and tangible items. There is one student who has ADHD. Accommodations will be made to ensure that this student participates in a variety of subject related kinesthetic tasks. Appropriate seating arrangements will be provided for all activities.
A variety of activities and strategies will be included in this unit in an effort to address the needs of all learners and address their various learning styles (as per the previously administered learning styles inventory). A unit quiz will be administered upon completion of the unit lessons.
