Take a moment and Wonder..

Every October, Rotarians are encouraged to focus their attention on vocational service. Vocational Service Month is an opportunity to begin year-long vocational service activities, ranging from Rotary discussions to awards to community projects. The concept of Vocational Service calls on Rotarians to encourage and foster: High ethical standards in business and professions The recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations The dignifying of each Rotarians occupation as an opportunity to serve society Therefore, take a moment and ask yourself: Do you value and recognize all useful occupations? Do you strive for the highest ethical standards? Do you use your vocational talents to serve society? As a Rotarian, how can you put these ideals into action? Consider these suggestions: Talk about your vocation in your club, and take time to learn about fellow members vocations. Use your professional skills to serve a community. Practice your profession with integrity, and inspire others to behave ethically through your own words and actions. Help a young person achieve his or her career aspirations. Guide and encourage others in their professional development.

Enlightened leadership is spiritual if we understand spirituality not as some kind of religious dogma or ideology but as the domain of awareness where we experience values like truth, goodness, beauty, love and compassion, and also intuition, creativity, insight and focused attention.

Clothing Drive Collection Day - Saturday October 12th 7-8pm

Quote to reflect.
It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.

Dear All, I am excited to announce that our recently established Rotaract Club will be finishing up its first project this week. Our donated clothes will go towards the migrant men and women in need. This Saturday we will hold our final collection day where we classify and tally up all the articles of clothing. Depending on the size of our collection, we will choose our destination camp with help from our guides at Helping Hands and personally deliver our donations with a small convoy. The larger the size the more we can help. We hope it is a success and will share the results. Please come and support us this Saturday at the Platinum Tower, First Floor Meeting Room from 78pm. There will be signs and I have provided a map for the directions below. If you have any spare used clothing that you are thinking of getting rid of, please drop by and give it to us as a donation. It can be anything from shirts, sweaters, trousers or shoes and for either gender. For your donation, you will receive an official certificate of appreciation from our Rotaract Club for your kind generosity. We wish you all a great Eid Mubarrak for the coming Eid Al-Adha and hope to make a lot of people happy. Kind Regards, Ozer Isik Rotaract President

Why wear a Rotary pin?

Reasons for wearing a pin varied: for publicity of Rotary, for pride, for acceptance and recognition, for the start of easy conversation with other Rotarians wherever you go. Wearing a Rotary Fellowship pin shows a Rotarians vocation, hobby or recreational interest. Past RI President Bob Barth (1993-94, from the Rotary Club of Aarau, Switzerland) felt that a Rotary pin says this about the wearer: You can rely on me, I am dependable, I am reliable, I give more than I take, and I am available.

A deer was trying to cross a busy road but the traffic was very heavy. After waiting unsuccessfully for a few minutes, a bear walked past and said: Excuse me, theres a zebra crossing a bit further along the road. The deer said, Well, I hope hes having better luck than I am!
________________________________________________________ A group of doctors were out duck hunting, when a large bird flew overhead. The family doctor raised his gun to shoot, but then lowered his gun saying "I am not sure that is a duck." The Psychiatrist raised his gun, but then lowered it again saying I know it's a duck, but I'm not sure that it knows it's a duck." The surgeon raises his gun and blasts the bird out of the sky. He turns to the pathologist and says "Go see if that was a duck."
