Executive Summary:
The village, Thol (25 km from Ahmedabad) is victim of water and mosquito borne diseases like jaundice, malaria and dengue. The death due to the said diseases is 55% of the total deaths caused due to diseases. The said problem could be solved by creating health awareness among the residents. We, a group of students from CEPT University, as a part of our social awareness program took an initiative to educate the residents against these diseases. We have estimated the cost for this program to be a sum of Rs.1,35,000. The fund asked for will be sufficient for the first stage of our program. With the help of corporate giant like Claris Life Science, we aim to educate the residents not only about the prevention of these diseases, but also the ways to decrease the water pollution and water stagnation.

Introduction
We are a group of students from CEPT University and have been assigned a social awareness program with a purpose to conduct a health awareness program for common diseases like malaria, typhoid and jaundice in a village near Ahmedabad. We have targeted Thol village located in Mehsana district of Gujarat, situated 25 km north of Ahmedabad, having two open water bodies and is a frequent victim of water and mosquito borne diseases. We wrote this letter to ask for funding aid in this project.

Statement of need
The village, Thol has about 6500 residents and two water bodies with a problem of water stagnation. Due to water stagnation problem, diseases like malaria and dengue are frequent here. Among the total deaths occurred here in year 2011, 55% were caused because of diseases, where 27% were due to malaria, 22% due to dengue and 31% due to jaundice. This project would help to improve the life of the residents.
