RESIDENTIAL AREA EVENING ESTABLISHING SHOTS A POLICEMAN is shown walking around on patrol, looking at the houses on his beat. Nothing appears out of the ordinary and the officer is satisfied. CLOSE-UP / EYELINE MATCH The man notices a suspiciously open door into a dark house with no sign of movement. He decides it best to investigate so approaches and cautiously enters the building. INT. HOUSE CONTINUOUS LONG SHOTS / LOW-ANGLE The policeman stands in the doorway of the poorly lit house. He brings out and turns on a torch, preparing to walk into the house. He shines the torch around the hallway. He advances into the house, guided by the light of his torch, looking for anything out of the ordinary. POINT OF VIEW SHOT The torch scans around the hallway, little of the house is revealed. CLOSE-UP SHOT The policeman is concerned by the situation, triggering a flashback in his mind. FADE THROUGHT WHITE FLASHBACK INT. INTERROGATION OFFICE NIGHT SHOT-REVERSE MEDIUM SHOTS

The policeman is sitting opposite an angry CRIMINAL who is threatening him. CRIMINAL You cant hold me here, I havent done anything wrong. Violently the criminal leaves the room, slamming the door behind him. CRIMINAL I wont let you get away with this. HIGH ANGLE The policeman sits frustrated at the desk, supporting his head to show how stressed he is. END OF FLASHBACK FADE THROUGH BLACK INT. HOUSE EVENING CLOSE-UP / LOW ANGLE Now more determined to find out whats going on, the policeman sets about continuing his search. INT. BASEMENT CONTINUOUS MEDIUM/LONG SHOTS Opening a door, the policeman advances down a set of wooden stairs. His polished black shoes contrast with the dusty surroundings as they move one step at a time. He walks centrally into the room and slowly searches around with his torch. Up and down, left to right. POINT OF VIEW SHOT The torch lights up the old boxes and items around the cellar. CLOSE-UP SHOT

The experience triggers another flashback in the mans mind. FADE THROUGH WHITE FLASHBACK EXT. ALLEYWAY EVENING CLOSE-UP / TRACKING MOVEMENT We see the criminals feet running towards the camera. The criminal runs into a building, slamming the door behind him. MEDIUM SHOT The policeman reaches and tries the door to find it is locked. POLICEMAN Hes got away. The policeman tries the handle desperately, followed by banging on the door. END OF FLASHBACK FADE THROUGH BLACK INT. HOUSE EVENING LONG SHOT The policeman walks back towards the staircase, faster in his movements. The man quickly walks up the stairs to continue his search. MEDIUM SHOTS The policeman continues his exploration of the house, venturing into different rooms in the house. Upon hearing a noise, the policeman approaches an unopened door.

CLOSE-UP He leans up against it as if listening in, clearly focussing and questioning what is the other side. He puts his hand on the handle ready to enter. MEDIUM SHOTS The policeman brings out a weapon for his defence and takes in a deep breath. Whilst opening the door and advancing through the door, the policeman swings the weapon across his body and enters the dark room. CUT TO BLACK POLICEMAN Youre under arrest. FADE OUT.
