INTRODUCTION

The title of this assignment is mobile phone operating system; I will discuss about three mobile phone operating systems which are the ios6, android 4.1 and the windows 8. Under these 3 mobile phone operating systems series of features have been highlighted like the overview of the three operating systems and I also comparison between the three operating systems which will help me select the best product. I choose to work on the mobile operating system because these specific operating systems am working on are the prime leaders in the technology world today.

IOS6 ENTERPRISE SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS

There were already a lot of features in iOS, such as support for S/MIME secure mail, long secure passwords instead of the 4-digit PINs, and locked-down profiles to keep fun (and security leaks) at bay. But the iOS 6 takes Apple's apparent corporate-friendliness to a whole new level. The changes in iOS 6 from a management perspective give businesses the ability to do everything from force-loading corporate-approved wallpaper onto the device to locking down how it connects to the Web. But the biggest changes are in the level of control iOS 6 gives to organizations to lock down devices. These changes are centered on two sets of features: Guided Access, which allows an iPad to be locked into a single application; and Supervised Mode, which now gives administrators the ability to make detailed changes to iOS device security and usage profiles "over the air" as well as at setup time.

INTERNET PLATFORM

Safari on the previous iPhone changed the level of acceptability from mobile browsing; ios 6 introduces more features like integration to icloud allowing for tab syncing and offline reading. There are also smartApp banners that help site promote their app bringing a wealthier cohesion to the whole ios platform. ANDROID 4.1 NETWORK AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS

It has a Wi-Fi protected setup which is now supported with WPS push button and PIN support. A new setting lets you stay on mobile data and avoid nearby Wi-Fi networks with poor connections. The telecom displays devices incoming and outgoing call logs and also displays incoming and outgoing SMS logs with the ability to track daily cellular data usage

Apple has maps service of its own now; it doesnt only deliver traffic updates, but points of interest and turnby-turn navigation as well. It is very well integrated with 3D maps.

in Google maps, 3D buildings and offline caching will be included to supplement high combination of search, turn by turn navigation and also street view. The search giant is even better with mapping the inside of notable locales.

ios 6 upgraded upon the work from the ios 5, building upon the simplicity theme, with settings all sorted automatically including whether the flash is used or not , the focus is also automatic, ios 6 also enables the use of the upper volume button as well as the on screen option for those who prefer a physical shutter button.

It is faster than before and has a fast review system which makes editing and removing of images easier. You can also customize level, balance and exposure with varying scene mode. It helps you capture your ideal shot. A panoramic mode and photo editing alongside the zero shutter lag is included. NFC

Getting a new, clean look and simple with small menu button which accesses the cameras various swings, the pure view technology that was made popular in the Nokia 808 pure view will be introduced.

Ios 6 introduces passbook, it is not entirely a NFC based app but it does provide many of the same features, storing varying tickets to sports, the airline, the theatre or store cards all in one easy accessible and constantly updated place.

The Google android beam carries an overhaul in 4.1, it provides instant transfers of photos, videos and apps, and also instantaneous pairing of NFC enabled Bluetooth devices.

I became aware of it by seeing the advertisement and promotion online, which some of its features were highlighted. Features like an enhanced siri, the size and resolution of the iPhone 5. New 3D maps with turn by turn directions and also incredible traffic features, with Facebook integration which also works under both 3G/4G.

Android 4.1 Promo on television I saw the promotion of android 4.1 via Samsung SIII on the television; I became aware of it by seeing the advertisement and promotion on television, which some of its features were highlighted. Features like a lock widget which can be opened with a swipe screen, an improved g mail with auto fit messaging format, gesture typing which you can swipe from letter to letter to type words, improved Google and also enhanced camera settings.

This three products are quiet similar with almost the same features and capabilities, but even with the free turn-by-turn directions, a likely smarter Siri, with better Facebook integration, and promising features like Passbook, iOS 6 seems like a no-brainer something so simple. If you're buying an iPhone 5, it is ok, but if you have an older iPhone you can enjoy all of the above features by upgrading. But Apple didnt really do enough to remain on the cutting edge with android. Android 4.1 is the best product among ios6 and windows8 due to some analyzed features and benefits. Below are some benefits of the android 4.1;

Justification Android 4.1 has a standard resolution format and supports various video format which ios6 and windows8 doesnt. Android 4.1 has both internal memory and also supports Micro SD which windows8 also does, but the android 4.1 is larger. The ios6 has only in built memory. The android 4.1 supports NFC which both ios6 and windows8 doesnt. The Google Maps for Jelly Bean seems to be the preferable option now. Firstly, its turn-by-turn navigation is simply better than the new apple maps. For another, it offers more features: street view, walking directions, public transport options, setting routes without toll roads, viewing maps offline, and lot more. Apple Maps on iOS6 does provide a cool satellite 3D view, however. Windows 8 brings in a new nokia mapping system, introducing 3D street navigation and Nokias Navteq traffic service.

Facetime app The android should provide more features like Facetime which is an amazing video calling app which works on the 3G network. Using this app a user can make and receive FaceTime calls wherever you happen to be. You can also make and receive FaceTime calls on your tablet using your phone number. This will attract more customers and will be a valuable addition to the android.

Guided access The android 4.1 should come with even more features to make it easier for people with vision, hearing, learning, and mobility disabilities. It allows a parent, teacher, or even administrator to limit an android device to one app by disabling the Home button, and also restrict touch input on certain areas of the screen. This will help especially for children to keep them out of certain areas.

Research analysis

The debate on which of the three operating systems is the best between ios6, android 4.1 and windows8 is the biggest in the technology world today. The three mobile operating systems are not so different. Based on the research I did, I interviewed a sales person and the question and answer will be available on the appendix page, I watched the promotions of the three operating systems and some comparison between them. These helped me select the best product between the three operating systems. The android4.1 is arguably the best product between the three mobile operating systems based on the research and in my report contains the evidence and justification for selecting the product.

CONCLUSION

This work contains a report of comparison between three mobile phone operating systems namely; ios6, android 4.1 and windows 8. I have made my research and analysis to select the best product among the three products and I have done that with the help of the interview and some testing I did, I was opportune to have a sales demo and with help of the promotions I watched, I have chosen the android 4.1 as arguably the best product among the three products. In this report I have my evidence and justification.

Answer Everything in jelly bean feels smooth, fast and fluid, it has a huge performance improvement like moving between home screens and switching apps is effortless. It has more reactive and uniform touch responses which makes the device even more responsive by boosting the devices cpu instantly when you touch the screen The Internal storage partition has been increased from 504mb to 2GB It has a better web browser with HTML5 support, the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi is stable.
