Object of testing percentage trash content in trash analyzer machine To give the purchaser and seller of raw cotton or waste definite figures concerning the proportions of clean cotton and trash in the material. To provide the cotton spinner and the waste spinner with an accurate idea of the capabilities of his existing machinery or any particular class or mark of cotton or waste. To determine the state of cleanliness of the product at any stage up to and including carding. To ascertain the quantity of spinnable fibre in the waste from any production machine. To determine loss of good fibre in the sequence of opening and cleaning process.
Study of passage through trash analyzer machine. The sample is placed on the feed table and presented to taker in by the feed roller. Owing to high speed and large number of teeth, on the taker in and cylinder it opens up cotton almost to single fibre state. Due to the strong centrifugal force, cotton hairs and trash particles tend to travel tangentially outwards and material moves to cylinder through top beater which rotates in same direction. Through bottom beater material is sucked through pneumatic system to lint box. While the separation of the cotton and trash take place as the heavy trash particles falling almost straight
down to the trash tray that is trash box. The lighter trash particles tend to fall, but they are taken along with air currents generated by the centrifugal force generated due to rotation. By correct adjustment of the setting and speed they ultimately fall into the trash tray at a point further forward than the heavier particles.

Teeth inclination (angle) & wire height (mm) These are most important parameter that decides opening and fibre transfer intensity. Teeth or points per square inch (wire point density) This decides amount of opening action as more the density more number of wire point passes through cotton material.

Calculation of speed of various components DN= dn where D and N are diameter of and rpm of driver respectively While d and n are diameter of and rpm of driven pulley respectively. In case of gear D & d are replaced by T & t respectively. (Where T & t are no of teeth of gears.) Cylinder rpm= Top beater rpm= Feed roller rpm= Bottom beater rpm=
