Outdoor Baptisms
A tradition that we look forward to each
year at Trinity is our summer outdoor
baptism celebration. On Sunday after-
noon, August 2nd, almost 300 people
came to the lake at Burchfield Park in
Holt to witness the baptisms.
The weather was perfect, the picnic
was wonderful, the testimonies were
moving, and the baptisms were espe-
cially memorable.
Pastors Royce
There were lots of cheers and ap- Allen above,
plause as Pastors Royce Allen, Scott and Scott Rolff,
Rolff and Alan Cullen did the baptizing at right, preparing
Pastor Alan Cullen baptizing this joyous occasion as 39 believers believers for

Boomerang Express Report

From Belinda Lund Bjarki, Director of Children’s Ministry: “During the week of July 20th the Boomerang Ex-
press roared into Trinity Church in a big way, and many lives were changed because of it. Here are some of
the highlights:
 664 children came to VBS during the week.
 221 volunteers served kids this week, with 101 of
those being student volunteers.
 20 children, 2nd – 6th grade, made the decision to fol-
low Jesus. 59 students made decisions, or recommit-
ments, to more closely follow Jesus.
 13 children came from Bingham Elementary School
and Spartan Village (international students). We bor-
rowed a bus from Mt. Hope Church and transported
these kids daily.
“It was a fantastic week. We are encouraged and thrilled by all
that God did in our hearts and lives. For those who prayed for us
or donated stuff or served, we are eternally grateful.”
Highlights from Summer Mission Trips
Impressions from the Budapest trip (July 23-August 3), from Ashley Richards:
 Seeing 8 teenagers stand up in front of the church to say they desire to move forward in their walk with
Jesus and being told that "this has never happened before".
 To see how God is moving and working through our
brothers and sisters, and Rosegarden Church.
 To experience how God's Word translates across the
language barrier.
“Here’s part of a message I got from Bogi, a 16 year old
girl that I became friends with: ‘Since camp there were
many miracles happening in my everyday life. Maybe you
know that my father isn't a Christian. But in camp he was
sitting there all mornings, and after that he was asking
questions, so I know he was really paying attention. And
somehow I just felt that he got much closer to God. I know
you're praying for my family, so please-please pray for
him!!! The other thing is that I nowadays I really find pleas-
ure in reading the Bible, I understand something everyday.
And every single evening I feel that this is a message for
me! So as you can see things are going great here, in Ashley Richards, center, with two new friends, Bogi, left,
Hungary. I miss you, Ashley!! ♥’” and Virginia, right, in Budapest, Hungary

Notes from the Budapest Trip, from Belinda

Lund Bjarki:
“God is at work around the world, and our team of 8 who traveled to Hungary were privileged to share in that
and to see what He is doing. There are so many ways we saw God’s hand, including:
 Marriages and families strengthened.
 Building the Trinity-Hungary Partnership. An intentional part of
our trip was for us to meet together with the Rosegarden leaders and
intentionally think about how we can best partner together. It was
exciting to see the items purchased for the daycare center from funds
our Trinity Children have given through their offerings.
 Eight young people stood and said they wanted to take the next
step in their walk with Jesus. Several adults told us, ‘This has never
happened before. We have never had any of our youth respond.’
“Having recently returned, we’re still so encouraged and excited about
what God has done and is doing through our time together.”

Notes from the Kenya Trip (July 24-August 1),

from Anne Cody:
“The people of Kawangware live in abject poverty, are sick more often
than not, and spend too many days hungry – yet they are warm and open
and they praise God with a joyful abandon I find awe-inspiring. Jesus is
their real and only hope, and their faces show it.
“The highlight of the trip for me was getting to go out in teams of 3 to 4
to share the gospel with people in the slums of Kawangware. The team I was with – 3 Kenyan teachers and
myself – saw 3 people respond by placing their trust in Christ! A total of 22 received Christ that afternoon.
“On the last day, as my husband, Mark, and I were teaching the Bible with the young adults in the training
school, we were asked, ‘Is flour expensive in the United States?’ We told them just about anyone could afford
a bag of flour here and that it would be nearly unheard of for someone to die of hunger because the churches
and the government would provide food. I asked, ‘Do you see people die of hunger?’ These normally gentle,
reserved students erupted with ‘Yes! Come to our neighborhood and see!’ Death from starvation is something
they see often.”
“Afterward, the carpentry teacher approached Mark privately and earnestly asked, “In America, when you
pray, ‘Give us this day our daily bread,’ – do you really mean it?” Mark had to say, “No, not like you do – we
know where our next meal is coming from.”
