Domestic Water Tank

Based on ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.1 Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, we adopted the next rates: Occupant Density in Office Space: Occupant Density in Restaurant: Occupant Density in Gym: Occupant Density in Spa: 5 persons/100m 70 persons/100m 30 persons/100m 40 persons/100m

Total occupants in office spaces: 2477 persons. Total occupants in restaurants: 2667 persons. Total occupants in gym: 55 persons. Total occupants in spa: 70 persons. Total volume of swimming pool: 150x1.5 = 225m. Based on ASPE volume 4, chapter 10 Water consumption guide, the water consumption for the office building is estimated on the table below:
WATER ESTIMATION FOR THE OFFICE BUILDING Offices (GPD) No of prsx12gal/day No of mealsx8gal/meal = 2667persx1meals/dayx8gal/meal No of guestsx50gal/dayx0.25 No of guestsx50gal/dayx0.25

10% of pool volume

Furthermore, and since 33 m of this daily consumption is dedicated to flushing system (Refer to Gray Water Demand stated below), the required domestic water volume for daily consumption should be: 222 - 23 = 199 m Taking into consideration 2 days reserve, the domestic water tank volume should be 400 m

Gray Water Tanks

With reference to ASPE Data Book Volume 2 Plumbing Systems Chapter 2 Gray-Water Systems, we took up the following: Gray Water Supply: In an office building, fixtures such as lavatories, water coolers, mop sinks, and coffee sinks are estimated to generate 3.79 L/day/person Offices gray water supply = 2477 person 3.79 L/day/person = 9388 L/day Total gray water supply Lets assume 10 m. Gray Water Demand (Flushing): The gray water demand for an office building is estimated based on 3 toilet or urinal uses/day/person. Assuming the population is 50% male and 50% female, and that men use urinals 75% of the time and water closets 25% of the time. The gray water demand will be estimated as follows: 1238 males 3 flushes/ day 0.5 gal/ flush (urinals) 0.75 = 1393 gal /day. 1238 males 3 flushes/ day 1.6 gal/ flush (WC) 0.25 = 1456 gal /day. 1238 females 3 flushes/ day 1.6 gal/ flush (WC) = 5943 gal /day. Offices gray water demand = 8792 gal/day (33281 L/day) = 9388 L/day

Total gray water demand Lets assume 33 m.

= 33281 L/day

Based on the above, the Gray Water Holding Tank will be 10 m

Irrigation Tank
The landscaped water consumption for irrigation is estimated to be 12 L/day/m of green area. Thus a total green area of 7126 m will consume daily: Hence a daily reserve of 86 m of water is needed for irrigation use. Since the Irrigation and Flushing Tank are combined, a total volume of: 86 + 33 = 119 m is needed for daily consumption. Taking into consideration 2 days reserve, the required water volume should be 240 m m of water.

Fire Fighting Tanks

The net effective capacity of the fire fighting dedicated tanks shall be sized to meet the minimum duration of flow for the fire protection systems determined in accordance with the applicable fire codes for not less than 30 minutes. Considering a period of 60 minutes operation at a flow rate of 1000 gpm (63 L/s), the total water volume needed is: m of water. This volume should be divided into 2 compartments. Each compartment shall be not more than 50%. Consequently, 2 tanks of 114 m of water capacity are required.

With reference to the layout drawings, the collection area is: Roof Collection Area Ground Floor Collection Area Total Collection Area 22490 m 7250 m 29740 m

Based on the following equation: Where: Q: Storm water tank capacity, m C: Surface run off coefficient, 0.9 I: Rainfall intensity, 25 min/hr A: Collection area, m The Rain Water Holding Tank capacity should be:
