their vows of love and marriage. Please be with them, bless them, and let this union
continue to endure and progress in the love they have for each other.

Prayers before Communion
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, by the will of the Father and the
work of the Holy Spirit your death brought life to the world. By your holy body
and blood free me from all my sins and from every evil. Keep me faithful to your
teaching, and never let me be parted from you.
This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are
those who are called to his supper.
Lord, I am not worthy to receive you, but only say the word and I shall be
healed.

The Nuptial Blessing
Let us now pray with warmest love to the eternal Father, on behalf of our
beloved couple Ted & Lita who, setting out on their married life, come to this holy
altar to share in the body and blood of Christ our Saviour.
Heavenly Father, you created man and woman in your own image and likeness,
uniting them in body, heart and mind so that they may fulfil your plan for the
world. The lifelong union of man and woman offers a sign of the covenant-bond
between you and your people. Their love in marriage also provides a living symbol
of the love between Christ and the Church.
Bless Ted & Lita. with gifts of kindness and fidelity. Grant that as they
continue to go through life together they may learn to share ever more fully the
depth of your love. May their unity of mind and heart bear witness to your
presence in their marriage.
Bless their children Dennis and Shane, whom they trained in the spirit of true
faith, so as to gain an everlasting place in your family in heaven. May they always
be the best of parents, caring for their household according to your will.
Bless their family life: By your grace, help Lita to be a loving wife and mother,
faithful to her family, generous and kind. Help and inspire Ted to be a good
husband and devoted father, faithful to his family, strong, caring and generous.
Loving Father, as they now come with faith, to share at your table through
holy Communion, so at the end may they rejoice forever with all your saints at the
heavenly banquet. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy
keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for
the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever.

Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your apostles: I leave you peace, my peace I give
you. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace

that is better than any of them.

I am simply a gong booming or a cymbal clashing. If I have the gift of
prophecy, understanding all the mysteries there are, and knowing
everything, and if I have faith in all its fullness, to move mountains, but
without love, then I am nothing at all. If I give away all that I possess,
piece by piece, and if I even let them take my body to burn it, but am

Father, all-powerful and ever-living God, we do well always and everywhere to
give you thanks.
By this sacrament your grace unites man and woman in an unbreakable bond of
love and peace. You have designed the chaste love of husband and wife for the

You are the loving Father of the world of nature;
You are the loving Father of the new creation of grace.
In Christian marriage you bring together the two orders of creation;

Lord, you are holy indeed, the fountain of all holiness.
Let your Spirit come upon these gifts to make them holy,
so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
