GENERAL CALCULATION PRINCIPLES
Characteristic values of resistance R
k
are calculated according to EN1995:2008, ETA 10/0010 and ETA 09/0324.
Design values R
d
are obtained as:
The calculation values shown are valid for wood components with characteristic density
k
350 kg/m
3
.
For
k
< 350 kg/m
3
, calculation values are multiplied by the reductive coefficient K
dens
= (
k
/ 350)
2
.
In the case of combined stress, the following condition must be verified:
NOTES:
F
2
and F
3
are opposing forces, only one of the two can be set equal to 0 kN.
F
4
and F

are opposing forces, only one of the two can be set equal to 0 kN.
The junction can be carried out
with a single angle bracket or with
2 angle brackets set symmetrically.

In accordance with ETA -10/0010 the wood side characteristic resistance is calculated as the
product between the number of inserted connectors (n
conn
) and the resistance of the single
connector: R
k, wood
= n
conn
R
k,conn
where the resistance of the single connector is equal to the values given in the table to the side.
Design resistance R
d
of the WHT is determined as the minimum value between the design
resistance of the wood side connectors and the design resistance of the steel side angle bracket.
The coefficients K
mod
and
m
are to be taken according to the standard used for calculation.

Characteristic values of resistance to extraction according to ETA-09/0078. The values shown
refer to a single anchor without interaxis effects and distance from the edge on the surface
of the non-cracked concrete, dry and at a standard temperature for the depth indicated in the
table. For differing conditions, values are established according to what is indicated in the
design method A in ETAG 001 for anchors in concrete.
