That we would be faithful and obedient That we continue to adjust and settle into this culture That we continue to grow spiritually and help others grow

We hope and pray that this letter finds you in good health, and like us, thankful for how gracious and loving the Lord has been this month. We have been reflecting on how much we have grown spiritually since arriving here in February. It is not always easy, but the Lord has been patient and gracious to us, and has provided all we need each day. We think one reason it can be so hard here is because of how easy we had things at home. Most of the things that made life easy for us at home dont exist here, or are extremely different. Not good or bad, just different. We have had to adjust. But the Lord is gradually showing us that living for Him here is exactly the same as living for Him there. Some things may not make sense to us, or they may be harder, but those are just physical and mental barriers that require perseverance. Being faithful and obedient is more important to Him than our cultural comfort level. As we celebrated Thanksgiving in a country that really doesnt celebrate Thanksgiving, we actually thanked God for some things we no longer have. We no longer have as many distractions. We no longer have a car, but walk or ride our bikes together. We no longer have jobs, but have been blessed with a ministry that forces us to rely solely on His provisions. God is pruning and refining. Since we will not be home for Christmas, we want to say Merry Christmas as well. Please send us your Christmas cards as they are reminders of our many blessings.

This month, as we gave thanks for all the things we have, and dont have, we were reminded that God is really all we need. And because of Him, we have all of you. Our faith is being strengthened by our experiences here. The one constant that has brought us across borders, real or imagined, and sustained us through all the cultural changes, is Gods unconditional, eternal love. That makes it all worthwhile. We are thankful and blessed to have you in our lives.
