Welcome to the District Department of Transportations Anacostia Waterfront Initiative (AWI) Transportation Master Plan Update Informational Meeting. The Master Plan serves as our roadmap for coordinating all of the projects and initiatives already being planned, designed and constructed within the AWI Program area. The plan helps us to minimize construction impacts on you -- our residents, businesses and other important stakeholders and also advance these important projects as quickly and eciently as possible. Tonights meeting is intended to share with you the progress we have made and the projects and initiatives being included in the next Master Plan update currently being completed. The meeting is being conducted in two parts: 1) a short overview presentation about the Master Plan and 2) an Open House to allow you to learn more about the DDOT transportation projects and other major partnering agency initiatives being coordinated and included in the next Master Plan update.

In keeping with the Master Plan update, the Open House divides the program area into six corridors and also accounts for various program area-wide and partnering agency projects and initiatives. The six corridors are: South Capitol Street Corridor Suitland Parkway Corridor Middle Anacostia Crossings Corridor Kenilworth Corridor M Street SE/SW Corridor Anacostia Riverwalk Trails Sta representing projects in each of the corridors will answer your questions and add you to their contact lists for future updates and information. More Information The Anacostia Waterfront Initiative (AWI) is a 30-year, $10 billion series of transportation, environmental, economic, community and recreation projects that are transforming the shores of the Anacostia River into a world-class waterfront.
