Principals News
As we near the midway point in the year, it is important to pause and reflect. When we return from break, there are three weeks of regular classes before mid-term exams, which begin on Monday, January 27. These three weeks typically seem to pass quickly, so we encourage students to invest a little time during the break to develop a good plan for their return. Some students review their notes, reorganize ideas or resources, or read texts that while not assigned by their teachers may relate to areas of the curriculum and further their understanding in those areas. Others pursue resources like Regentsprep.org or AP Review books to help them with specific test-taking strategies and to build familiarity with questions that may mirror midyear or end-of-year assessments. And all students take time to relax and refresh, since a fresh perspective can yield tremendous gains when we return from the break.

Rescheduled Events
December weather has been tricky this year and has affected two events in our late fall lineup: Parent-Teacher Conferences and the National Honor Society Induction Ceremony. We will host a make-up night for Parent-Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, January 7th. Parents who have not yet had an opportunity to connect with their childs teachers are invited to sign up for a conference. Appointments originally set for December 10 were cancelled due to snow, so please sign up again via instructions found on the Tappan Zee High School website. The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony has been rescheduled for Thursday, January 9th at 7 PM in the auditorium. If you have a student graduating from TZHS, you may place an ad including pictures, memories, or warm wishes for your child. Information is available via the same link.
