For all Waste Services enquiries, please call 9492 0111 or visit the Citys website www.gosnells.wa.gov.au Useful information
1. The bulk waste collection service is offered to residential properties in the City of Gosnells. 2. The City intends to recycle e-waste, it would be appreciated if items could be placed in separate piles. 3. Be environmentally responsible and ensure that your fridges, freezers and air conditioners are properly degassed. 4. Setting out junk waste on the verge too early is a litter offence and may attract a fine, it also makes your City look untidy. 5. The European House Borer (EHB), a destructive pest of seasoned (dry) softwood timber, including pine, fir and spruce has been discovered in the greater Perth metropolitan area. It is usually found in the deadwood inclusion of live pine trees. However it can also be found in untreated structural pine timber and untreated pine furniture. To aid containment and eradication efforts, residents are asked to: Dispose of pine including firewood, off cuts, timber and furniture through the verge side collections, as local governments are educated in appropriate EHB disposal procedures. Not remove untreated pine from neighbourhood verges during kerbside collection times. For further information about EHB please call the Department of Agriculture and Food on 1800 084 881 or visit www.ehb.wa.gov.au.

What do I need to do?
After you receive a flyer like this advising of the collection date, place bulk waste neatly on the verge so that it does not obstruct the view of pedestrians, cyclists or motorists. Do not place items near sprinklers, water meters, power poles, street signs or utility boxes as these may be damaged as waste is collected by mechanical means. Do not obstruct the footpath or your normal bin service. Place e-waste (electronic waste) items, such as computers and televisions, in a separate pile to enable separate pick-up. Please read the important safety requirements regarding refrigerators, freezers, white goods and air conditioners.
Certified degassed fridges, freezers and air conditioners (doors must be removed from fridges and freezers).
General junk, small electrical goods, carpet, linoleum and mattresses and metals no longer Unwanted pine (untreated pine materials such as pine firewood, logs, timber and furniture). than 1.5m.
Bulk waste left on the verge can be unsightly and hazardous. For this reason bulk waste left on the verge (which isnt collected because it has not met collection guidelines, or because of late placement) MUST BE REMOVED WITHIN SEVEN DAYS or you may be fined. By following the guidelines in this leaflet you can help us to keep your City looking good during collections. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
