From the Editor

Dear Readers, As-Salamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullah, Hope you are doing well. Islam is a religion of love and respect. Those sins and habits that ignite the feelings of hate and enmity against others are strictly forbidden in Islam. Back-biting is one of those major habits and sins that are strictly prohibited according to the commandments Islam; Quran and Sunnah. Islam demands from us that our relationship with our fellow Muslim brethren should be based on sincerity, respect and transparency. Do you know what is back-biting? It is to say unwanted words or deliberately vilify your Muslim brother in his absence which he would dislike if he comes to know about it. Even if his faults that you discuss might really be a part of his personality. And if those faults are not really present in him that you discussed, this will fall in the category of slander. Back-biting is among the meanest manners and most serious sin. Prophet Muhammad ( )said, Do you know what back-biting is? The companions of Prophet( )said Allaah and His Messenger know best. Then He said, It is to say something about your brother that he would dislike. Abu Dhar (RA) asked, If what you say about him is true? The Messenger of Allaah ( )said, If what you say about him is true, you are back-biting him, but if it is not true then you have slandered him. [Sahih Muslim] Allaah says, Never backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of your brother? You would hate it, and fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful. The Prophet ( )said, A man might speak a word without thinking but because of its implications, he will plunge into the Hellfire further than the distance between the east and west. [Agreed upon] So dear readers! We should always avoid the habit of back-biting and even our brothers are being ridiculed or backbite, we should defend their honor and dignity. Very truly yours, Asif Khurshid

Ibrahim was of two and half years when he died and holding his body in hands that person was shedding tears. His fellows were surprised to see this. When one of the followers asked that are you shedding tears? We cannot believe it. He replied yes, eyes are shedding tears and heart is gloomy, but he would never utter a single world which would displease Allaah. The person was sad on the death of his son. That person was the one who promised glory in the hereafter for those who would remain patient on the death of a child. He was the one who used to make children sit besides him and feed them. That was the person who would prefer saying salaam to the children passing by him. He was the man who would spare time out of his tough routine to ask for the health of the sick son of a Jew. The man who used to amuse children and treated the children of friends and foes alike. Who was that person of such glorious traits? He definitely would not be an ordinary person but the greatest and noblest person ever lived This is the tale of none other than our great Sire Muhammad(). Yes world greatest commander, greatest doctor, professor, greatest justice, the great messenger of Allaah, the last messenger of upon whom Allaah chose to finish his series of prophethood. The best model, ideal for all humanity. Whose way of life was considered perfect and declared by Allaah the source of success and blessing in the life after death if adopted in this world.

A Visit to Caliph's House

A VISIT TO

Caliphs House
Because the man who is the real owner of this house is always busy to ensure pleasures and hustle and bustle of others houses, The lady replied in a very kind and compassionate manner. Both the women were indulge in their conversation when a person after giving a slight knock entered the house, said salaam to both the ladies and started pulling water out of the side-by well. He went on looking at both the ladies in a secretive manner which annoyed the old woman and she spoke to the houselady: Why this person is looking at you time and again? Daughter please turn your face to the other side and let me teach him a lesson.

By Ahmad

n old woman with fragile body had a great desire to have a meeting with the Caliph and thought of having one-to-one conversation with him. The second reason of her eagerness to have meeting with the Caliph was that as she had learnt the tales about grace and glory which different rulers and King enjoyed in the history, so she wanted to witness it practically so in one way or the other she managed to reach near the house of Caliph. When she saw the appearance Caliphs house, she was surprisingly shocked to see its simplicity and verified again from the people there if that was really the Caliphs place of living. Looking at the frail muddy house with no guard at its doors, no team of servants, and the old woman thought indeed people had made her fool; this could never be Caliphs residence. But even then she made her mind to enter the house which people were telling her as Caliphs house. s she was not certain about the owner of the house, she was curious, having a sense of fear and ambiguity in her mind. When she gave a glance to the thing present there in the house, she could not observe anything which could prove it as a Caliphs house and the stuff she could see there was nothing more than required for a laymans basic day-to-day needs. She was quite sure that it was not Caliphs house. Then she moved to the courtyard of the house where she saw a women sitting in very simple clothes. The old women after formal Islamic greeting (salaam) and being offered to sit beside the lady, asked: Where is the owner of this house? When she was told that she is the owner of the house then the old women asked her again: Why this house looks desert-like, showing the signs of uninhabited wilderness, deprived of any hustle and bustle?

ut a smile on the face of the house-lady made the old women curious about the person and then all her emotions and feelings of suspense and irritation vanished away when the lady told her that he was none other than the Caliph of Muslims and her husband Umar bin Abdul Aziz. The old woman was surprised to see this face of the Caliph of Muslims as he himself was pulling water out of the well and was passing a very simple and ordinary life. The Caliphs wife then said to the old lady that she must not be so surprised to see all this as the true ruler should be servant of his people. He should not feel any hesitation in doing his own works with his own hands and should do all those necessary things which may lead to the prosperity of the common people of his kingdom.

ear children! They were the real leaders and elders of Muslims and the annals of history are replete with such examples. Only they should be ideals for all Muslims and to follow them would definitely lead us to the path, not only of worldly progress and prosperity, but also towards the Divine blessings and successes in the life hereafter.

Three Travellers Towards a Single Destination

act of Hudaibiya had been inked and the parties had started following and obeying its conditions. Prophet Muhammad ( )had returned to Madinah along with all his companions. People of Makkah were happy as they saw the Muslimss arrival in Makkah with narrow minds. But many visionary person saw the return of Muslims as a serious development and as a sign of a looming catastrophic storm. This was the reason that they would seem seriously concerned and worried. Among them was Khalid Bin Waleed. Khalid Bin Waleed while sitting under a date-tree was absorbed in a deep thought. Would look tensed by facial expressions. His farsightedness suggested the reconciliatory pact of Hudaibiya as sheer victory of the Muslims. This was the reason that when this pact was under process, he left the place and went out of Makkah even. His dignity could not bear that Muslims could come to Makkah with such ease and convenience. His acute vision would take notice of the impending implications of this agreement and he in his thoughts was analyzing the past three battles with Muslims.

cannot believe all this. hen he recalled the day of Uhd. The day when every troop of the enemy was passionate and eager for revenge of their near and dear ones killed in the battle of Badr. So they launched their assault and attacked the Muslims of Madinah. They were highly hopeful for their victory as their every soldier entered the field with the thought of do or die, to kill or being killed. Although due to a mistake by Muslims, the enemies gained a tactical advantage but ultimate victory was for the Muslims. Then Khalid bin Waleed would stare at the sky reminding of other war with Muslims. The day when it seemed as if the people of the whole Arabian peninsula had collectively invaded Madinah. The invasion was planned in such a manner so that Muslims had no space to maneuver. The Muslims were circumscribed in Madinah. Only a trench was a barrier between the two rival forces. There was an eye ball to eye ball situation for may days. This had added to the anxiety and worry of Muslims. But all of a sudden, sky casted with clouds and silence prevailed everywhere. A storm seemed imminent. Then wrath of Allaah engulfed the forces of non-believers of Makkah in the form of a mighty storm. The hearts of mushrikeen trembled and their tents and camping were torn-out and uprooted by irresistible wind. It created chaos and stir among the forces of the enemy and they ran unbridled.

fter recalling all these incidents in which Muslims remained at better position, Khalid bin Waleed would unintentionally utter, Indeed there is some secret power helping these people, and then his unparalleled sagacity and farsightedness visualized the faintheartedness of people of Makkah on the occasion of Hudaibiya pact. His lips moved again, To confront Muhammad() and his companions is against wisdom. His facial expression would portray that he was in deep thought and his mind was filled with whims. Meanwhile a rider appeared at a distance and Khalid started staring at him. The rider came near him and gave him a letter of Khalids brother. Khalid took the letter and started reading it impatiently, Brother Khalid. When Muhammad( )went for pilgrimage, I accompanied him. He asked me about you that Three Travellers Towards a Single Destination

where is Khalid? I searched for you a lot but I did know where you were. When I told Muhammad() that I was unaware of you whereabouts, he said that he was surprised that a wise person like Khalid is still out of the fold of Islam. He also said that he eagerly wished that the qualities of Khalid be utilized for Islam and Muslims. O brother Khalid. I speak the truth the no other religion is matchable with Islam and it is a complete conduct for life. No other leader could match with Muhammad( )and he is the true person, and he would really respect your traits and qualities. Why you are still deprived of the affection and warmth of Muhammad(?)

person coming towards them. They were staring at him who could be that person at that time of night. Then Usman recognize him as Amar bin Aas. But why he is here, he had moved to Habasha long time ago, Khalid asked in a curious manner. Amar bin Aas reached near them and they both stood to receive him and them asked him to sit with them. Where are you coming from?. Habasha, he replied. Where to go?, asked Khalid. Madinah, Amar bin Aas said. That good to know, we will have an excellent journey together. But why you are going to Madinah?, asked Amar bin Aas. We have recognized the truth of Islam and we are going to embrace it, Khalid said in a very categorical manner. I am also going for the same purpose, Amar bin Aas said in a very pleasant tone.

his letter added fuel to fire as Khalid was already in a state of fix and confusion. But then there passed one of his friends Safwaan, son of a Makkahs feudal. The boy came near Khalid and asked the cause of Khalids preoccupation. Khalid spoke to him, What would be the outcome of all this? Of what, the friend asked. Our confrontation with Muslims, Khalid said. We will be the winners as we are powerful in men and weaponry, said Safwaan in a proud manner. But Safwaan, the results of last three battles have negated your claims, Khalid said in a clear and louder voice. Anyhow Quraish would be the ultimate winners, Safwaan showed stubbornness. But I am visualizing something different asserted Khalid. Whatever your opinion might be, the boy went away after uttering his last words. I totally agree with you. I can see that Muhammad() and his companions have the assistance of Allaah and they would be victorious, said one of Khalids closest friends, Usman bin Talha. So what is you plan?, Khalid tried to explore Usmans inner thoughts. I wanted to talk to you about Islam but your rigidity and strict opposition to Islam kept me away for this, Usman revealed his true intentions. So what now, Khalid asked. I want to know you intentions. What dont you tell me about your thoughts about Islam, Usman asked a counter question. We should embrace Islam, Khalid said in a decisive way. You are right Khalid, agreed Usman. This area and its environment is not safe for us now and we should move to Yasrib tomorrow recommended Khalid. The next day they silently moved towards Madinah. On the way they stayed in a village under a date tree. They were engage in conversation when they saw a

he next day Muhammad ( )was present in Masjid-e-Nabvi among his companions teaching them about Islam. During conversation, all of sudden, Muhammad ( )said in an excited manner, Look Makkah has throw his best towards us. This was when those three were still a bit away from Makkah. When the companions listened to this news, they were very happy and excited and most was Waleed. Waleed came out of Madiah to receive them and told them about their news. They said that they have not sent any messenger to Muhammad() then how did he came to know about them that they were on their way? His Lord gives him( )news, Waleed said. When the three entered the mosque, all were looking at them. Khalid! For what have you come?, asked the Messenger of Allaah ( )in a very polite and kind manner. We are here to embrace Islam, Khalid replied. On listening to this, the pleasure and excitement of all the Muslims present went out of proportions and the mosque echoed with the voices of Allaahu Akbar!

Did you do your homework? Sound familiar? Well, it is that time of year again school books, pencils, homework, and report cards school is back in. If you think one of the most challenging aspects of the school year is getting your kids to do their homework timely and regularly, you are not alone. But do not fret there is hope! Here are several things you can do to make homework time less stressful and more enjoyable this year, in-sha-Allaah. Initial Checks The first thing you want to do is rule out if your child has a learning disability. Some kids do not want to do their homework because they have special learning challenges. These children may need additional instruction or one-on-one help. Your childs teacher should be able to help you determine if your child has a learning disability. Reward If a learning disability is not causing your childs lackluster homework performance, try offering him something that will be an incentive to do his homework. Using an Incentive Chart is one of the best ways to motivate your child to do something he has little desire doing. Of course, incentive charts and rewarding children for proper behavior have become a controversial issue as of recent. Some are of the opinion that rewarding your A Golden Key to Successful

child for good behavior can send the wrong message. They feel that children should behave properly simply because this is the suitable thing to do. They also contend that it can make a child dependent upon being rewarded whenever they are encouraged to behave properly. There is validity in all of these points. However, throughout the Quran Allaah reminds us often of the reward we will receive for being righteous and obeying His laws. But those who feared their Lord will have gardens beneath which rivers flow, abiding eternally therein, as accommodation from Allaah. And that which is with Allaah is best for the righteous. [3:198] But whoever comes to Him as a believer having done righteous deeds - for those will be the highest degrees [in position] [20:75] Adults with their full mental

faculties receive encouragement from Allaah to obey His rulings. Children, who are of less sound mind, can benefit from incentives, as well. Make a Star Chart One of the simplest incentive programs is the Star Chart system. It is really quite easy to set up. When you set up your Star Chart system, explain the new program to your child prior to implementing it. Let him know you have found a fun new way to help him do his homework. Get a blank sheet of paper and write your childs name at the top. Inform him that each day he completes his homework on time, he gets a star. Let him know that after he earns 10 stars, he gets a special treat. Then the two of you brainstorm different places he would like to go or toys he would like you to purchase or some other special activity he would like to participate in. Keep in mind the reward need not be expensive or lavish. Maybe he would like to have his friends over to spend the night. Ensure the selection of rewards is what you are willing to follow through on. Then post the star chart and list of rewards where your child can view them often. The refrigerator or bedroom door are good places where he will see them often as a reminder. Some parents prefer using more elaborate charts to help their child feel how special the Star Chart system is. Ready-made

MyVision Muharram Safar 1435

Page 11

colorful charts can be purchased at school supply stores and some department stores in the stationary section. You can also design your own star chart with colorful pictures, fancy drawings or adhesive stickers to make the program initially more exciting. This can be a special activity for you and your child to work on together. It can make the chart even more special, because it allows you and your child to participate in an enjoyable activity together. Each day your son does his homework, place a star on his chart. Be sure to let him know he has a star when you put it up. The days your son neglects completing his homework, remove a star at the end of the day. If he does not have stars to remove, put up a check. Checks are used with the Star Chart system and should be explained to your child as well. They are given when your son fails to complete his homework for the day. Make sure you let him know he has a star off (or check) for not doing his homework. Avoid squabbling with your child over his failure to complete his homework. Let the stars and checks speak for you, instead. If your son gets six checks, deprive him of a privilege he enjoys. You can take away the computer for one, two, or three days (depending on age); take away his outside playtime, or whatever you deem he would dislike giving up.

Keep in mind that every set of ten stars earns a reward. Once a set of ten has been earned, the individual stars from that ten cannot be removed. Incentive Ideas Here are some rewards you can use for your star chart: Outings Small toys Friends over Slumber party Special dessert Help mom cook Play game with mom Bubble bath Select menu for dinner Mom helps with a chore Get hundred rupees Extra time on computer Extra TV time Extra time on video game Take a walk with mom Remove six checks from the chart Disincentive Ideas Here are a few ideas you can use for penalties: Less or no computer time Less or no TV time Less or no video game time No outing Pay money 100 jumping jacks 20 push-ups Clean house Fold clothes Wash dishes Stay in room for time out (1-minute per year in age) Write standards Go to bed early

Keep in mind, some children may defensively make comments such as I dont care about stars anyway! Or So what? Ignore these comments and continue with the program. Do not give up on the Star Chart system. It is a remarkable discipline method that brings amazing results. Keep up the good work, and you are sure to see success, in-sha-Allaah. Using the Star Chart system for homework is a marvelous way to help you and your child become more productive this school year. Children no longer have to listen to constant nagging from parents. Parents are able to inspire good homework habits by using gentle encouragement instead of harsh enforcement. This makes homework time more pleasurable for both parent and child. Now you are all set with a golden key for a productive school year of homework with you and your child. [Grandma Jeddah is the mother of 11 children and 13 grandchildren. The Old Priest

THE OLD PRIESt

My new name is Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman and previous name was Anslam Tormira. My hometown is located on an island in Spain. My father was a respectable figure and I his only son. He sent me to a priest at a very early age to learn religion. He was an old priest of the church. Everyone respected him, even kings used to request him for supplication and sent him many gifts, hoping they would be blessed from his supplications. I served the priest selflessly and soon won his trust. He entrusted me keys to many compartments, except one. It was a key to a bedroom which he always kept with himself. I lived with him for ten years. Once he fell ill and he was unable to join in the gatherings. He sent me instead to represent him. One day all the priests were debating the true interpretation of a prediction in Injeel. This was about a messenger who would come after Eesa (AS). The debate was inconclusive and the meeting dispersed. I told my teacher-priest the whole story. He said that this verse could only be understood by scholars of outstanding vision and knowledge. I fell to his feet and humbly requested him for the name of that person who would be the next messenger. I beseeched him for the sake of all the years I had served him. He told me that if I knew the name, I would be k i l l e d by the other priests. Finally he told me that the name of the prophet after Eesa (AS) was Muhammad (), the Prophet of the Muslims, and possessor of the fourth and final book from Allaah. Then I asked of his opinion about the present religion of Christians? He told me that had the Christians been on the original Christianity, they would have been on true religion but their religion has been changed altogether. He told me to embrace Islam, the true way of success. Then I asked him why he did not embrace it. He said that I am very old and I cannot face the people and they would kill me right after knowing that I have accepted Islam. But yes, he is following the original teachings of Christ. Then I asked should I embrace Islam? He replied that you are blessed with wisdom and you can save yourself from being killed so you should instantly move towards them and should accept Islam as it is the only way of success, both in this world and in the life hereafter. So I acted upon his advice and left for Tunis. There the Sultan of Muslims was Abul Abbas. I told him the whole story through a translator. He fully assisted me in embracing Islam and taught me shahadah. Thus I became a Muslim and my new name as I told earlier is Abdullah!

Is There a

CREATOR
of

UNIVERSE?
Page 14 MyVision December 2013 Is There a Creator of Universe?

We thank you for your question, and would like to answer by quoting a number of aayaat (verses) from the Book of Allaah (the Quran the scripture of Islam), then you can think to yourself about the matter and if the truth becomes clear to you, you will have no choice but to follow it. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning), Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. Or are with them the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the tyrants with the authority to do as they like? [52:35-37] Verily, the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation of night and day, and the ships which sail through the sea with that which is of use to mankind, and the water (rain) which Allaah sends down from the sky and makes the earth alive therewith after its death, and the moving (living) creatures of all kinds that He has scattered therein, and in the veering of winds and clouds which are held between the sky and the earth, are indeed aayaat (proofs, evidences, signs) for people of understanding. [2:164] It is He Who sends down water (rain) from the sky, and with it We bring forth vegetation of all kinds, and out of it We bring forth green stalks, from which We bring forth thick clustered grain. And out of the date-palm and its spathe come forth clusters of dates hanging low and near, and gardens of grapes, olives and pomegranates, each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety and taste). Look at their fruits when they begin to bear, and the ripeness thereof. Verily! In these things there are signs for people who believe. [6:99] And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain), till when they have carried a heavy-laden cloud, We drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon. Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the dead, so that you may remember or take heed. [7:57] Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? [21:30] Is There a Creator of Universe?

Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any god with Allaah? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)! [27:60] He has created the heavens and the earth without any pillars that you see, and has set on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. [31:10] See you not (O men) that Allaah has subjected for you whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and has completed and perfected His Graces upon you, (both) apparent (i.e., Islamic Monotheism, and the lawful pleasures of this world, including health, good looks, etc.) and hidden (i.e., ones Faith in Allaah, knowledge, wisdom, guidance for doing righteous deeds, and also the pleasures and delights of the Hereafter in Paradise, etc.)? Yet of mankind in he who disputes about Allaah without knowledge or guidance or a Book giving light! [31:20] And the two seas (kinds of water) are not alike, this fresh, sweet and pleasant to drink, and that saltish and bitter. And from them both you eat fresh tender meat (fish), and derive the ornaments that you wear. And you see the ships cleaving (the sea-water as they sail through it), that you may seek of His Bounty, and that you may give thanks. [35:12] Have you not seen how your Lord spread the shadow? If He willed, He could have made it still then We have made the sun its guide [i.e., after the sunrise, it (the shadow) contracts and vanishes at noon, and then again appears in the afternoon with the decline of the sun, and had there been no sunlight, there would have been no shadow] Then We withdraw it to Us a gradual concealed withdrawal. And it is He Who makes the night a covering for you, and the sleep (as) repose, and makes the day nushoor (i.e., getting up and going about here and there for daily work, etc., after ones sleep at night or like resurrection after ones death). And it is He Who sends the Page 15

MyVision Muharram Safar 1435

winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain), and We send down pure water from the sky. That We may give life thereby to a dead land, and We give to drink thereof many of the cattle and men that We had created, [25:45-49] And it is He Who has let free the two seas (kinds of water), one palatable and sweet, and the other salt and bitter, and He has set a barrier and a complete partition between them. [25:53] And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof. And We have made therein gardens of date-palms and grapes, and We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein. So that they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? Glory be to Him, Who has created all the pairs of that which the earth produces, as well as of their own (human) kind (male and female), and of that which they know not. And a sign for them is the night. We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. And the sun runs on its fixed course for a term (appointed). That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. And the moon, We have measured for it mansions (to traverse) till it returns like the old dried curved date stalk. It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. And a sign for them is that We bore their offspring in the laden ship (of Nooh). And We have created for them of the like

thereunto, so on them they ride. And if We will, We shall drown them, and there will be no shout (or helper) for them (to hear their cry for help) nor will they be saved, Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. [36:33-44] We created you, then why do you believe not? Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. Is it you who create it (i.e., make this semen into a perfect human being), or are We the Creator? We have decreed death unto you all, and We are not unable, To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not. And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e., the creation of Adam). Why then do you not remember or take heed? Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment), (Saying), We are indeed Mughramoon (i.e., ruined, or lost the money without any profit, or punished by the loss of all that we spent for cultivation, etc.)! Nay, but we are deprived! Tell Me! The water that you drink, Is it you who cause it from the rain clouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? If We willed, We verily could make it salt (and undrinkable). Why then do you not give thanks (to Allaah)? Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? We have made it a Reminder (for the Hell-fire, in the Hereafter); and an article of use for the travellers (and all others, in this world). The glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. So I swear by mawaaqi (setting to the mansions, etc.) of the stars (they traverse), And verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but knew, That (this) is indeed an honourable recital (the Noble Quran). [56:5777] So glorify Allaah, when you come up to the evening [i.e., offer the Maghrib (sunset) and Isha (night) prayers], and when you enter the morning [i.e., offer the Fajr (morning) prayers]. And His is all the praise and thanks in the heavens and the earth, and (glorify Him) in the afternoon [i.e., offer Asr (mid-afternoon) prayer] and when you come up to the time when the day begins to decline [i.e., offer the Zuhr (mid-day) prayer]. He brings out the living from the dead, and brings out the dead from the living. And He revives the earth after its death, and thus shall you be brought out (resurrected). has the right to be worshipped but He, and there is nothing comparable unto Him) in the heavens and in the earth. And He is the All-Mighty, the AllWise. [al-Room 30: 17-27] Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any god with Allaah? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)! Is not he (better than you gods) Who has made the earth as a fixed abode, and has placed rivers in its midst, and has placed firm mountains therein, and has set a barrier between the two seas (of salt and sweet water). Is there any god with Allaah? Nay, but most of them know not. Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when He calls Him, and Who removes the evil, generations after generations. Is there any god with Allaah? Little is it that you remember! Is not He (better than your gods) Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His mercy (rain)? Is there any god with Allaah? High Exalted be Allaah above all that they associate as partners (to Him)! Is not He (better than your so-called gods) Who originates creation, and shall thereafter repeat it, and Who provides for you from heaven and earth? Is there any god with Allaah? Say: bring forth your proofs, if you are truthful Say: None on the heavens and the earth knows the unseen except Allaah, nor can they perceive when they shall be resurrected. [al-Naml 27:60-65] This is a selection of clear aayaat that include the answer to your question. We invite you to join the community of the believers and to enter the religion of Islam which Allaah has chosen as the religion for all mankind. Peace be upon those who follow true Guidance. (Adam) from dust, and then [Hawwa (Eve) from Adams rib, then his offspring from the semen, and], - behold you are human beings scattered! And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect. And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colors. Verily in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge. And among His Signs is the sleep that you take by night and by day, and your seeking of His Bounty. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who listen. And among His Signs is that He shows you the lightning, by way of fear and hope, and He sends down water (rain) from the sky, and therewith revives the earth after its death. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who understand. And among His Signs is that the heaven and the earth stand by His Command, then afterwards when He will call you by single call, behold, you will come out from the earth (i.e., from your graves, for reckoning and recompense). To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. All are obedient to Him. And He it is Who originates the creation, then will repeat it (after it has perished), and this is easier for Him. Poisonous Flowers

By Haroon Aslam

Dear children!

POISONOUS FLOWERS
Anthurium Scherzerianum: These flowers are poisonous because they have Calcium Oxalate crystals, which can irritate the skins and the eyes

You must have read about flower and their medicinal benefits for various diseases but today the harmful effects of some flowers would be discussed. It is commonly believed that harmful flowers and plants like Sumac plant etc. only grow in forests and the flowers/plants that grow in lawns of our houses are harmless, is absolutely wrong. This fact should be known to everybody that the ordinary plants which we mostly use for eating and decorate our homes with them have some of their parts are deadly. These plants contain some masses like noxious proteins, which if enter the stomach or even touched with, would prove severely detriment. The most important example to quote here is of one of the most popular fruits seeds. This fruit is apple and it should be known that although if all the seeds of one apple are swallowed would not harm, but if eaten in excess and are chewed could result in death of the person. Actually apple seeds contain a small amount of cyanide, which is a lethal poison, but you are protected from the toxin by the hard seed coating. If you eat whole apple seeds, they pass through your digestive system relatively untouched. If you chew the seeds thoroughly, you will be exposed to the chemicals inside the seeds, but the dose of toxins in one apple is Page 18

small enough that your body can easily detoxify it but excess could be horrible. Same is the case with bitter almonds and the seeds of Cherries and Peaches. Tomatoes are favorite of many people and they love to use them especially in Salad. But it should be in mind that if the tomato is not fully ripe would ultimately cause stomach problem and more dangerous are its leaves. Leaves of tomato have poisonous effects and eating up of leaves would result in death of the person. Similarly, in Rhubarb-plant, only Petiole is the thing which is usable and is mostly used as vegetable, as drink and in pastries. Its leaves are highly toxic and lethal if eaten up. They can make our Kidneys dysfunctional and if used in excess, the affected person would go unconscious. Delphinium plants are considered toxic to humans, causing severe digestive discomfort if ingested, and also skin irritation and

sometimes can cause death as well. Dieffenbachia plant which is also called Dumb cane, is mostly put in our home-gardens and is very nice looking but if any part of it enters mouth will cause severe damage to mouth and tongue. Sometimes tongue is deprived of its movement ability. So it is necessary that one must wash ones hands properly after touching or handling this plant. Likewise, Oleander, Foxglove, Hemlock, Daffodil, Ceiba are some the flower plants which have toxic and poisonous material in them and if eaten up or in some cases touched, could consequently have horrendous effects for human health and life. So dear children it is very necessary to have knowledge about all such plants and trees so that we might not become a victim of any of these plant or flower.

Allaah's Book - The Rope of Allaah

By Saad Anwar

ALLaaHS BOOK
(THE WORD OF GOD)
The Word of God. Now what is the Word of God? The meaning of the Word of God is Quran. The root word of Quran in Arabic is qira. Which means The book which is read frequently. It is very important to read Quran .But we should not only read it, but also to act upon it. Quran is a source of guidance. Without it we cannot achieve success in our life. It is also an miracle, because it was revealed 1400 years ago and it is still read. It contains the sweetness which has a positive effect on our hearts. The Quran does not means that Islam is a religion of paper. The Quran is an instruction manual for us. Like if I make a machine, so I will write an instructional manual to tell the people how this machine is going to work. At the end, I would like to write a verse of Quran From Surah Al-Alaq: Recite in the name of your Lord who created [96:1]

Allaah addresses us in the Quran in a very beautiful verse, And hold firmly to the rope of Allaah all together and do not become divided [3:103] This is an instruction given by Allaah to hold tight and to abide by his rope. One would argue, what type of rope is Allaah telling us to abide by? Well the Sunnah explains and interprets the Quran, without Sunnah we will not be able to fully comprehended the Quran. Prophet Muhammad( )explained the meaning of the rope of Allaah. He says, The book of Allaah is the extended rope of Allaah.
