Prayer for A New School Year
Blessed are you, Lord, God of all Creation.
All new beginnings are a sign of your love for us.
Bless the school year we are about to begin.
Fill each day with your grace, that in our teaching and our
studying,
We may continue to grow in your love.
The Annunciation Maternity Home dedicated the only con-
vent in the Diocese of Austin this past Saturday. The Univer-
sity Catholic Center sold church chairs for the convent at a
minimal cost to help complete the seating arrangements of
the Convent Chapel. Bishop Gregory Aymond was on hand
for the dedication. The Convent will be the home for the
Daughters of Mary Mother of Mercy sisters who work with
the residents of the home..

Keep us safe and secure.
Grant us a wealth of patience, compassion and acceptance
for UT professors, staff, students and for each other.
Help us to remember all that we have learned
that we may not forget how blessed we are.
As the year fills with activities, challenges and difficulties,
let our learning continue as we live and celebrate the promise
in our Catholic community. Amen
Spaghetti Dinner! It is hard to believe it is
that time of the year again, but our Welcome
Spaghetti Dinner will be Friday, September
7th starting at 5:00 PM. We will need as
much help as we can get. We need people to
help with ingredients, cooking, serving and clean-up. There
will be sign-up sheets on the stairwell in the atrium. Please
save the date and stop by and sign-up. This will be a Long-
horn Dinner with a Western theme so slip on those boots and
jeans and mosey on in for a fabulous meal!

Black Bag Collection for next Sunday is for Annuncia-
tion Maternity Home-Georgetown; a free, full service
home for young women (age 14 and up) who are in crisis
pregnancies. The services offered are: housing, continuing
education (UT Charter school on sight); parenting and life
skills; job assistance; transportation; child care; spiritual
development; family counseling; adoption referral and two
year follow-up service of continuing instruction, mentor-
ing, prayer and problem solving. Caring professionals who
are advised by an ecumenical board of directors staff the
