SEPTEMBER 2009
From Berkley Street (“St Neots Methodist Church” as you will see)
PROJECT UGANDA
The Uganda team has been busy preparing a Celebration Service for Sunday
6th September at Berkley Street when we shall give glory to God for a
successful mission accomplished. We look forward to sharing some of our
experiences with the wider circuit at a circuit mission event later in
the autumn. Our sincere thanks again to everyone for all your support.
We have received this letter from the Head Teacher of St Thomas’ Girls School
Dear Brethren,
Warm Christian greetings to you in the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ. On behalf of the Board of Governors, PTA,
the students’ body of St. Thomas School, and the entire
community of Kaberamaido, we wish to extend our
overwhelming joy for the financial, material, moral,
spiritual and various forms of support we have received
from you. No amount of words can express our heartfelt
gratitude; however take in our simple words of
appreciation.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
Ililo Winnifred
Head Teacher
From Buckden
LONDON to P RIS
Phil Sheppard, from Buckden Church, successfully completed the London to
Paris Bike Ride in aid of Christian Aid, as Phil puts it, “on 25th July arriving at
the finishing line at the Eiffel Tower on a beautiful sunny Paris afternoon.”
He goes on to say: “Although the bike ride was very gruelling in parts, with
some sections of the route hilly and the weather occasionally wet and windy, it
was a tremendously exhilarating and rewarding experience and made even
more so by having raised very nearly £3,000 for Christian Aid.”
Phil would like to express, through the Circuit Newsround, his sincere thanks
to all those who sponsored him or helped in any way.
The picture shows Phil at the finishing line – with just enough strength left to
hold the bike aloft!!
