These instru tions should be used for both !a!ers submitted for review and for final versions of a e!ted !a!ers. #uthors are as)ed to onform to all the dire tions re!orted in this do ument.

$eneral Instructions

This do ument has been ada!ted from the instru tions for #C$"*+CN$P"%&&, !ro eedings, by +ing"-hin Chang and Regina .ar/ilay. *nstru tions for those !ro eedings were in turn based on the formats of earlier #C$ and E#C$ Conferen e !ro eedings. Those versions were written by several !ersons, in luding +ohn Chen, 0enry -. Thom!son and 1onald 2al)er.

E( e!tions to the two" olumn format in lude the title, authors8 names and om!lete addresses, whi h must be entered at the to! of the first !age, and any full"width figures or tables 5see the guidelines in -ubse tion 9.:6. Introduction

The following instru tions are dire ted to authors of !a!ers submitted to ACL-2010 or a e!ted for !ubli ation in its !ro eedings. #ll authors are re3uired to adhere to these s!e ifi ations. #uthors are re3uired to !rovide a Portable 1o ument 4ormat 5P146 and Post- ri!t version of their !a!ers. The title, author names and addresses should be om!letely identi al to those entered to the ele troni al !a!er submission website in order to maintain the onsisten y of author information among all !ubli ations of the onferen e. #bstract/ Ty!e the abstra t at the beginning of the first olumn. The width of the abstra t te(t should be smaller than the width of the olumns for the te(t in the body of the !a!er by about &.G m on ea h side. Center the word Abstract in a '% !oint bold font above the body of the abstra t. The abstra t should be a on ise summary of the general thesis and on lusions of the !a!er. *t should be no longer than %&& words.
