INSTITUTE OF GEOSPATIAL RESEARCH AND EDUCATION 05/2012 - 12/2012 Digitized contiguous polygons for the identification of wetland plant communities for the purpose of invasive species mitigation. Completed daily independent GIS topology checks and digitizing which contributed to a larger data base used by the Detroit Wetlands. STATE OF MICHIGAN- ANAYLST 01/2012 05/ 2012 Examined the State of Michigans Constitutional Revenue Sharing System in order to consider the socio-economic conditions and modern trends of development and migration. Collaborated with several Michigan Representatives and Agencies to obtain the information necessary to complete the analysis. Conducted land use, demographic, day- and night-time population, utility, and public service research to generate GIS maps and diagrams using Arc GIS and Microsoft Excel. SYNERGY! ENERGY!- RESEARCH/PRESENTER 08/2011 03/2012 Researched how public and private partnerships can increase sustainability in Downtown Ypsilanti through an Eastern Michigan University study. Surveyed, collected, and analyzed data on local businesses to assess their current understanding and implementation of sustainability practices and to make recommendations for improvement of public and private sustainability measures. Reviewed and evaluated the environmental impacts and the cost efficiency for each of the recommendations made and applied them specifically to both the private and public sector and then proposed the ideas to planning officials at the Eastern Michigan University Undergraduate Symposium (3/30/12) and at the Michigan Association of Planning Student Conference in Detroit, MI (3/16/12). ASKING YPSI- ACADEMIC SERVICE LEARNING GRANT 01/2012 05/2012 Assisted classmates with a grant awarded to create three interactive art projects on Eastern Michigan Universitys campus and in the City of Ypsilanti. Collaborated with city planning and business/ property owners. Promoted students, resident, visitor participation
