Characteristics of Hell:

1. Hell is a place of unquenchable fire.

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering
his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire." Mt.
3:12

"And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of
teeth" Mt. 13:42

"The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his
kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into
a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth," Mt. 13:41, 42

If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed
than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. Mark. 9:43

2. Hell is a place of memory and remorse.

3. Hell is a place of thirst.

4. Hell is a place of misery and pain.

"The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without
mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and
brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And
the smoke of their torment ascendant up for ever and ever: and they have no rest
day nor night…" Rev. 14:10, 11

5. Hell is a place of frustration and anger.

"And shall cast them into a furnace of fire; there shall be wailing and gnashing of
teeth" Mt. 13:42

" He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there
will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Mt. 24:51

6. Hell is a place of separation.

" 11He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who
overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death." Rev. 2:11

“The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the
book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” Rev 20:14-15

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral,
those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the
fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." Rom 21:8
7. Hell is a place of undiluted divine wrath.

"The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without

brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb"
Rev. 14:10

8. Hell is a place originally prepared for Satan and his hosts.

" Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into
the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." Mt. 25:41

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting
them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgment; 2 Peter 2:3-5

9. Hell is a place created for all eternity.

"And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt“ Dan. 12:2

"And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life
eternal'' Mt. 25:46

"Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving
themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an
example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire“ Jude 1:7

For the wages of sin is death. Rom 6:23

“I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again”
John 3:3

”For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[f] that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son
into the world to condemn the world,

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not
see life, for God's wrath remains on him."
