In the Name of Allah, the

All-merciful, the Allcompassionate

bis-millhir-ramanirram

O Allah, I ask You by

Your mercy, which
embraces all things;

allahumma in-n asaluka bi-ra-matikal-lat

wasi`at kul-l shay

And by Your strength,

through which You
dominatest all things,

wa bi-q-watikal-lat
qahar-ta bih kul-l shay

And toward which all

things are humble
And before which all
things are lowly;

wa khaa`a lah kul-lu

shay
wa dhal-l lah kul-lu
shay

And by Your invincibility wa bi-jabartikal-lat

through which You
ghalab-ta bih kul-l
shay
overwhelmest all things,
And by Your might,
which nothing can resist;

wa bi`izzatikal-lat l
yaqmu lah shay

And by Your
tremendousness, which
has filled all things;

wa bi`aamatikal-lat
mala-at kul-l shay

by Your force, which

towers over all things;

wa bisul-nikal-ladh
`al kul-l shay

And by Your face, which

subsists after the
annihilation of all things,

wa bi-waj-hikal-bq
ba`da fan-i kul-li shay

And by Your Names,

which have filled the
foundations of all things;

wa bi-as-m-ikal-lat
malat ar-kna kul-li shay

And by Your knowledge,

which encompasses all
things;

wa bi`il-mikal-ladh
aa bikul-li shay

And by the light of Your

face, through which all

wa bi-nri waj-hikalladh a-a lahu kul-lu

things are illumined!

O Light! O All-holy!

y nru y qud-ds

O First of those who are

first
And O Last of those who
are last!

y aw-walal-aw-waln
wa y -khiral--khirn

O Allah, forgive me those allahumma-igh-fir

sins which tear apart
liyadh-dhunbal-lat
tah-tikul`iam
safeguards!
O Allah, forgive me those allahumma-igh-fir
sins which draw down
liyadh-dhunbal-lat
tunzilun-niqam
adversities!
O Allah, forgive me those allahumma-igh-fir
sins which alter
liyadh-dhunbal-lat
tughy-yirun-ni`am
blessings!
O Allah forgive me those
sins which hold back
supplication!

allahumma-igh-fir
liyadh-dhunbal-lat
ta-bisud-du

O Allah forgive me those

sins which cut down the
hopes!

allahumma-igh-fir
liyadh-dhunbal-lat
taq-au'r-raj

O Allah, forgive me those allahumma-igh-fir

sins which draw down
liyadh-dhunbal-lat
tunzilul-bal
tribulation!
O Allah, forgive me
every sin I have
committed and every
mistake I have made!

allahumma-igh-fir liya
kul-l dham-bin
adhnabtuhu wa kul-l
kha-atin akh-atuh

O Allah, verily I seek

nearness to You through
remembrance of You,

allahumma inn
ataqarrabu ilayka bidhik-rik

And I seek intercession

from You with Yourself,
And I ask You through
Your munificence to
bring me near to Your
proximity,

wa as-tash-fiu' bika il
naf-sik
wa as-aluka bi-jdika an
tud-ni-yan min qur-bik

And to provide me with

gratitude toward You
And to inspire me with
Your remembrance.
O Allah, verily I ask You
with the asking of a
submissive, abased and
lowly man to show me
forbearance, to have
mercy on me

wa an tzi`an shuk-rak

And to make me satisfied

and content with Your
appointment and [make
me] humble in every
state.

wa taj-`alan biqasamika riyan qni`n

wa f jami'l-a-wli
mutawi`a

O Allah, I ask You the

question of one whose
indigence is extreme,

allahumma wa as-aluka
sula manish-tad-dat
fqatuh

And who has stated to

You in difficulties his
need

wa anzala bika i'ndashshad-idi jatahu

And whose desire for

what is with You has
become great.

wa `auma fm i'ndaka
ragh-batuhu

O Allah, Your force is

tremendous, Your place
is lofty,

allahumma `auma sulnuka wa `al maknuk

And Your deception is

hidden, Your command is
manifest,
And Your domination is
overwhelming, Your
power is unhindered

wa khafiya mak-ruka
waahara am-ruk

wa an tul-himan dhikrak
allahumma in-n as-luka
sula khii'm-mutadhallilin kh-shii'n an
tusmian wa taraman

wa ghalaba qah-ruka wa
jarat qud-ratuk

And escape from Your

wa-l yum-kinul-firru
governance is impossible. min uk-matik
O Allah, I find no
forgiver of my sins,
Nor concealer of my ugly
acts

allahumma l ajidu
lidhunb ghfira
wa-l liqab-i stira

Nor transformer of any of

my ugly acts into good
acts but You

wa-l lishayim-min
`amali-yal-qabi bilasani mubad-dilan
ghayrak

There is no god but You!

l ilha il-l anta

Glory be to You, and

Thine is the praise!

sub-naka wa biamdika

I have wronged myself,

alam-tu naf-s

And I have been

audacious in my
ignorance
And I have depended
upon Your ancient
remembrance of me and
Your favour toward me.

wa tajar-ratu bijah-l
wa sakan-tu il qadmi
dhik-rika l wa man-nika
`alay

O Allah! O my Protector!

allahumma maw-ly

How many ugly things

You hast concealed!

kam-min qabin satartah

How many burdensome

tribulations You hast
abolished!

wa kam-min fdiimminal-bal-i aqal-tah

And how many stumbles

You hast prevented!
And how many ordeals
You hast repelled!
And how much beautiful
praise, for which I was
unworthy, You hast
spread abroad!
O Allah, my tribulation is
tremendous,
And my bad state is
excessive,
And my acts are
inadequate,
And my fetters have tied
me down,

wa kam-min i'thriwwaqaytah
wa kam-mim-mak-rhin
dafa`tah

And my far-fetched
hopes have held me back
from my gain

wa abasan `an-nafe'e bu`a-du -m-l

wa kam-min than-in
jamlil-las-tu ah-ll-lhu
nashar-tah
allahumma `auma
bal
wa af-raa b so-u l
wa qaurat b a`ml
wa qa`adat b agh-l-l

And this world with its

delusions, my own soul
with its offences and my
delay have deceived me.

wa khada`at-nid-duny
bi-ghurri-h wa naf-s
bi-jinyatih wa mi-l

O my Master! So I ask
You by Your might not to
let my evil works and
acts veil my supplication
from You,

y say-yid fa-as-aluka
bi-i'z-zatika an l yajuba `an-ka du`a-
so-u `amal wa f`l

And not to disgrace me

through the hidden things
You knowest of my
secrets

wa-l taf-a-n bikhaf-yi m-ala`ta

`ailayhi min sir-r

And not to hasten me to

punishment for what I
have done in private:

wa-l tu`jil-n bilu'qbati `al m `amiltuhu f khalawt

My evil acts in secrecy

and my misdeeds
And my continuous
negligence and my
ignorance
And my manifold
passions and my
forgetfulness.

min so-i fi`a-l wa isat

And by Your might, O

Allah, be kind to me in
all states

wa kunil-lhumma bi-i'zzatika l f kul-lil-a-wli

raf

And be gracious to me in
all affairs!

wa `alay-ya f jami'lumr `af

My God and my Lord!

Have I any but You from
whom to ask removal of
my affliction and regard
for my affairs!

ilah wa rab-b mal-l

ghayruka as-aluhu kashfa ur-r wan-naara f
am-r!

My God and my
Protector! You put into
effect through me a
decree in which I
followed the caprice of
my own soul

ilah wa maw-laya ajrayta `alay-ya ukmant-taba`tu fhi haw

naf-s

wa dawmi taf-r wa
jahlat
wa kath-rati sha-hawt
wa ghaf-lat

And [I] did not remain

wary of adorning my
enemy.

wa lam a-taris fhi min

tazyni `ad-w

So he deluded me
through my soul's caprice
and therein destiny
favoured him
So, in what was put into
effect through me in that
situation, I transgressed
some of Your statutes
And disobeyed some of
Your commands.

fa-ghar-ran bi-m ahw wa as-`adahu `al

dh-likal-qa

So Thine is the argument

against me in all of that

falakal-uj-jatu `alay-ya
f jami' dhlik

I have no argument in
what Your destiny put
into effect through me
therein
nor in what Your decree
and Your tribulation
imposed upon me.

wa-l uj-jata l fm
jar `alay-ya fhi
qauka

fa-taj-waztu bi-m jar

`alay-ya min dh-lika
ba`a uddik
wa khlaf-tu ba`a
awmirik

wa alzaman uk-muka
wa baluk

Now I have come to You,

My God, after my
shortcoming and my
immoderation toward
myself,

wa qad ataytuka y ilah

ba`da taq-r wa isrf `al naf-s

Proffering my excuse,
regretful,

mu`a-tadhiran-ndiman

Broken, apologizing,
Asking forgiveness,
repenting,
Acknowledging,
submissive, confessing.
I find no place to flee
from what occurred
through me,
Nor any place of escape
to which I may turn in
my affairs,

mun-kasirm-mustaqlama
mus-tagh-firmmunban
muqir-rm-mudhi'nmmu`a-tarifa
l ajidu mafar-rm-mimm kna min-n
wa-l mafz'n atawajjahu ilayhi f am-r

Other than Your

acceptance of my excuse
and Your entering me
into the compass of Your
mercy.

ghayra qablika u'dhr

wa id-khlika -yaya f
s'tim-mir-ra-matik

O Allah, so accept my
excuse,
Have mercy upon the
severity of my affliction
And release me from the
tightness of my fetters,
My Lord, have mercy
upon the weakness of my
body, the thinness of my
skin and the frailty of my
bones.
O You who gave rise to
my creation, to the
remembrance of me, to
the nurture of me, to
goodness toward me and
to nourishment on me,
Bestow upon me for the
sake of Your having
given rise [to me] with
generosity and Your
previous goodness to me!
O Allah, my Master and
my Lord!
Canst You see Yourself
tormenting me with Your
fire after I have professed
Your Unity

allahumma faq-bal
u'dhr

And after the knowledge

of You my heart has
embraced,

wa ba`da man-aw
`ailayhi qal-b mimma`rifatik

And the remembrance of

You my tongue has
constantly mentioned
And the love of You to
which my mind has
clung,

wa lahija bihi lisn min

dhik-rik

wa a`taqadahu amr
min ub-bik

And after the sincerity of

my confession and my

war-am shid-data ur
wa fuk-kan min shad-di
wathq
y rab-bir-am a`fa
badan wa riq-qata jild wa diq-qata `am

y mam bad khal-q wa

dhik-r wa tar-bi-yat
wa bir wa tagh-dhiyat

hab-n lb-tid-i karamika

wa slifi bir-rika b
y ilah wa say-yid wa
rab-b
aturka mu`adh-dhib
binrika ba`da taw-dik

wa ba`da id-qi-`atirf wa du`a-

khi`al-li-rubb-

supplication, humble
before Your lordship?
Far be it from You! You
art more generous than
that You shouldst
squander him whom You
hast nurtured,
Or banish him whom
You hast brought nigh,
Or drive away him whom
You hast given an abode

yatika

Or submit to tribulation
him whom You hast
spared and shown mercy.

aw tus-s-lima ill-bal-i
man kafay-tahu wa
raim-tah

Would that I knew, my

Master, My God and my
Protector,

wa layta shi`a-r yy
say-yid wa ilah wa
maw-ly

Whether You wilt give

the Fire dominion over
faces fallen down
prostrate before Your
Tremendousness,

atusal-liun-nra `al
wujhin khar-rat li`aamatika sjidah

hayhta anta ak-ramu

min an tuay-yi`a marrab-baytah
aw tub-i'da man adnaytah
aw tushar-rida man aytah

And over tongues voicing

wa `al al-sunin-naaqat
sincerely the profession
bi-taw-dika diqatawof Your Unity and giving
wa bishuk-rika mdiah
thanks to You in praise,
And over hearts
acknowledging Your
Divinity through
verification,

wa `al qulbin-`atarafat bi-ilh-yatika

muaq-qiqah

And over minds

encompassing knowledge
of You until they have
become humble

wa `al am-ira awat

minal-i'l-mi bika at-t
rat khshi`ah

And over bodily

members speeding to the
places of Your worship in
obedience and beckoning
for Your forgiveness in
submission.

wa `al jawaria s't il

aw-ni t'b-budika i`ataw-wa ashrat bistigh-frika mudhi'nah

No such opinion is held

of You! Nor has such
been reported - thanks to
Your bounty
concerning You,
O All-generous! My
Lord,
And You knowest my
weakness before a little
of this world's
tribulations and
punishments,

m hkadh-an-nu bika
wa-l ukh-bir-n bifalika `anka
y karmu y rab
wa anta ta`lamu a`f
`an qallim-min bal-iddun-y wa u'qbtih

And before those ordeals

which befall its
inhabitants,

wa m yaj-r fh minalmakrihi `al ah-lih

Even though it is a
tribulation and ordeal
whose stay is short,
whose subsistence is but
little and, whose period is
but fleeting.

`al an-na dh-lika baluw-wa mak-rhun,

qallum-mak-thuhu,
yasrum baq-uhu,
qarum-mud-datuh

So how can I endure the

tribulations of the next
world and the great
ordeals that occur within
it?

fa-kayfa-timl li-bal-ilakhirati wa jalli

wuqi'l-makrihi fh!

For it is a tribulation
whose period is long,
whose station endures
and whose sufferers are
given no respite,

wa huwa bal-un talu

mud-datuhu, wa
yadmu maqmuhu, wal yukhaf-fafu `an ah-lih

Since it only occurs as a

result of Your wrath,
Your vengeance and
Your anger,

li-an-nahu l yaknu il-l

`an ghaabika wantiqmika wa sakhaik

And these cannot be

withstood by the heavens
and the earth.

wa hadh m l taqmu
lahus-samwtu walaru

O Master, so what about

me?!

y say-yid fakayfa b

wa ana `abukaFor I am Your weak,

ae'efudh-dhallullowly, base, wretched and

aqrul-mis-knul-mus-

miserable slave.

My God! My Lord! My
Master! My Protector!

y ilah wa rab-b wa
say-yid wa maw-ly

For which things would I

complain to You?
And for which of them
would I lament and
weep?
For the pain and severity
of chastisement?
Or for the length and
period of tribulation?

li-ay-yil-umri ilayka
ash-k

So if You takest me to
the punishments with
Your enemies,

fa-la-in ay-yar-tan lilu'qbti m' a`d-ik

And gatherest me with

the people of Your
tribulation

wa jama`ta bayn wa
bayna ahli bal-ik

And separatest me from

Your friends and saints,

wa far-raq-ta bay-n wa
bay-na aib-b-ika wa
aw-li-y-ik

Then suppose, My God,

my Master, my Protector
and my Lord that I am
able to endure Your
chastisement,

fa-hab-n y ilah
wasay-yid wa mawlaya
wa rab-b abar-tu `al
`adhbika

How can I endure

separation from You?

fakayfa a-biru `al

firqika

And suppose that I am

able to endure the heat of
Your fire,

wa hab-n abar-tu `al

ar-ri nrika

How can I endure not

gazing upon Your
generosity?

fakayfa a-biru `annaari il karmatik

Or how can I dwell in the

Fire while my hope is
Your pardon?

am kayfa as-kunu finnri wa raj- `af-wuk

wa lim minh aij-ju wa

ab-k
li-almil-`adhbi wa
shid-datih
am lilil-bal-i wa muddatih

So by Your might, my
Master and my protector,
I swear sincerely, if You
leavest me with speech,

fabi-i'z-zatika y say-yid
wa mawlaya uq-simu
diqal-la-in tarak-tan
niqan

I will lament to You from

the midst of the Fire's
inhabitants with
lamentation of the
hopeful;

laij-jan-na ilayka bayna

ah-lih ajjal-amiln

I will cry to You with the

cry of those crying for
help;

wa larukhan-na ilayka
urkhal-mus-ta-rikhn

I will weep to You with

the weeping of the bereft;

wa-la-ab-ki-yan-na
`ailayka buk-al-fqidn

And I will call to You,

Where art You, O
Sponsor of the believers,

wa la-undi-yan-naka
ay-na kun-ta y walyal-mu-minn

O Goal of the hopes of

Your knowers,
O Aid of those who seek
assistance,
O Friend of the hearts of
the sincere
And O God of all the
world's inhabitants!
Canst You see Yourself
Glory be to You My
God, and Thine is the
praised hearing within
the Fire the voice of a
slave surrendered to You,
Imprisoned there because
of his violations,

y ghyata -mlil-`rifn

Tasting the favour of its

torment because of his
disobedience,

wa dhqa a`ma
`adhbih bi-ma`i-yatih

y ghiythal-mustaghthn
y abba qulbidiqn
wa y ilhal-`lamn
afaturka sub-naka y
ilah wa biam-dika tasmau' fh aw-ta `abdim-mus-limin
sujina fh bimukhlafatih

And confined within its

levels because of his sin
and crime,

wa ubisa bayna abqih bijur-mih wa

jarratih

While he laments to You

with the lament of one
hopeful for Your mercy,

wa huwa yaij-ju ilayka

ajja muammilil-liramat-k

And calls to You with the

tongue of those who
profess Your Unity

wa yundka bi-lisni
ahli taw-dik

And entreats You by

Your lordship!

wa yatawas-salu ilayka
bi-rubb-yatik

My Protector, so how
should he remain in the
chastisement, while he
has hope for Your
previous clemency?

y mawly fa-kayfa
yabq fl-`adhbi wa
huwa yar-j m salafa
min il-mik

Or how should the Fire

cause him pain while he
expects Your bounty and
mercy?

am kayfa tu-limuhunnru wa huwa ya-malu

falaka wa ra-mataka

Or how should its flames

burn him, while You
hearest his voice and
seest his place?

am kayfa yu-riquhu
lahbuh wa anta tasmau' aw-tahu wa tar
maknah

Or how should its

groaning encompass him,
while You knowest his
weakness?
Or how should he be
convulsed among its
levels, while You
knowest his sincerity?
Or how should its
keepers torture him while
he calls out to You, O
Lord?
Or how should he have
hope of Your bounty in
freeing him from it, while
You abandonest him

am kayfa yash-tamilu
`ailayhi zafruh wa
anta ta`lamu a`fah
am kayfa yataqalqalu
bayna a-bqih wa anta
ta`lamu id-qah
am kayfa tazjuruhu
zabni-yatuh wa huwa
yundka y rab-bah
am kayfa yar-j falaka
f i't-qihi minh fatatrukuhu fh

within it?
Far be it from You! That
is not what is expected of
You,
Nor what is well-known
of Your bounty,
Nor it is similar to the
goodness and kindness
You hast shown to those
who profess Your Unity.
So I declare with
certainty that were it not
for what You hast
decreed concerning the
chastisement of Your
deniers
And what You hast
foreordained concerning
the everlasting home of
those who stubbornly
resist,

hayht m dhlika-annu bik

wa-lal-ma`rfu min
falik
wa-l mush-biha lim
`mal-ta bihil-maidna mim bir-rika wa
i-snik

fa-bial-yaqni aq-au'
law-l ma akam-ta bihi
min ta`dhbi jidk

wa qaayta bihi min ikhlydi mu`nidk

You wouldst make the

Fire, all of it, coolness
and safety,

laj'l-tan-nra kul-lh
bar-dw-wa salm

And no one would have a

place of rest or abode
within it.

wa m kna li-aadin
fh maqar-rw-wa-l
muqm

But Youholy are Your

Nameshast sworn that
You wilt fill it with the
unbelievers,

lakin-naka taqad-dasat
as-m-uka aq-sam-ta an
tam-lah minal-kfirna;

Both Jinn and men

together,
And that You wilt place
those who stubbornly
resist therein forever.
And You majestic is
Your eulogy said at the
beginning and wernt
gracious through

minal-jin-nati wan-nsi
aj-m`an
wa-an tukhal-lida fhlmu`nidn
wa anta jal-l than-uka
qul-ta mub-tadiww-wa
taaw-wal-ta bil-in-`mi
mutakar-rim

kindness as a favour,
(What? Is he who has
been believer like unto
him who has been
ungodly? They are not
equal)
My God and my Master!
So I ask You by the
power You hast
apportioned
And by the decision
which You hast
determined and imposed
and through which You
hast overcome him
toward whom it has been
put into effect,
That You forgivest me in
this night and at this hour

yas-tawn
ilah wa say-yid fa-asaluka bial-qud-ratil-lat
qad-dartah

wa bil-qa-yatil-lat
atam-tah wa akamtah wa ghalab-ta man
`ailayhi aj-raytah

an tahaba l f hadhihillaylati wa f hadhihss'ah

Every offence I have

committed,
And every sin I have
performed,
And every ugly thing I
have concealed
And every folly I have
enacted
Whether I have hidden or
announced it,
Or I have concealed it or
manifested it

kul-l jur-min aj-ram-tuh

And every evil act which

You hast commanded the
Noble Writers to record,

wa kul-l say-yi-atin
amarta bi-ith-btihayalkirmal-ktibn

Those whom You hast

appointed to watch over
what appears from me

al-ladhna wak-kaltahum bi-if-i m

yaknu min-n

And whom You hast

made, along with my
bodily members, witness
against me.

wa j'l-tahum shuhdan
`alay-ya m' jawri

wa kul-l dham-bin
adhnab-tuh
wa kul-l qabin as-rartuh
wa kul-l jah-lin `amiltuhu,
katam-tuho aw a`lantuhu,
akhfaytuho aw ahartuh

And You wast Yourself

the Watcher over me
from behind them,

wa kunta antar-raqba
`alay-ya miw-war-ihim

And the Witness of what

is hidden from them
But through Your mercy
You concealed it
And through Your bounty
You veiled it.
[And I ask You] that You
bestowest upon me an
abundant share of every
good You sendest down,
Or kindness You
conferrest,
Or goodness You
unfoldest,
Or provision You
spreadest out,

wash-shhida lim
khafiya `an-hum
wa bi-ra-matika akhfaytahu
wa bifalika satar-tah
wa an twf-fira a-
min kul-li khayrin
tunziluh
aw i-snin tuf-iluh
aw bir-rin tan-shiruhu
aw rizqin tab-suuh

Or sin You forgivest,

aw dam-bin taghfiruyhu

Or error You coverest.

aw khaain tas-turuhu

My Lord! My Lord! My
Lord!

y rab-bi y rab-bi y
rabb

My God! My Master! My
Protector! Owner of my
bondage!

y ilah wa say-yid wa
maw-laya wa mlika riqq

O He in whose hand is
my forelock!
O He who knows my
affliction and my misery!
O He who is aware of my
poverty and indigence!
My Lord! My Lord! My
Lord!
I ask You by Your Truth
and Your Holiness
And the greatest of Your
Attributes and Names,
That You makest my
times in the night and the
day inhabited by Your
remembrance,

y mam bi-yadihi niyat

y `almm biur wa
mas-kanat
y khabrm bi-faq-r
wa fqat
y rab-bi y y rab-bi y
rabb
as-aluka bi-aq-qika wa
qud-sik
wa a`ami iftika wa
as-m-ika
an taj-`ala aw-qt fillayli wan-nahri bi-dhikrika ma`mrah

And joined to Your

service
And my works acceptable
to You,

wa bikhid-matika mawlah
wa a`ml i'ndaka maqblah

So that my works and my

litanies may all be a
single litany

at-t takna a`ml wa

aw-rd kul-luh wirdw-widan

And my occupation with

Your service everlasting.

wa l f khid-matika
sar-mad

My Master! O He upon
whom I depend!

y say-yid y man
`ailayhi mu`aw-wal

O He to whom I
complain about my
states!
My Lord! My Lord! My
Lord!
Strengthen my bodily
members in Your service,

y man ilayhi shakaw-tu

a-wl

And fortify my ribs in

determination

wash-dud `all-`azmati
jawni

And bestow upon me

earnestness in my fear of
You

wa hab liyal-jid-da f
khash-yatik

And continuity in my
being joined to Your
service

wad-dawma fil-at-itili
bikhid-matik

So that I may move easily

toward You in the
battlefields of the
foremost
And hurry to You among
the prominent

y rab-bi y rab-bi y
rabb
qaw-wi `al khid-matika
jawri

at-t as-raa ilayka f

may-dnis-sbiqn
wa us-ri`a ilayka filmubdirn

And desire fervently

Your proximity among
the fervently desirous

wa ash-tqa il qur-bika
fil-mush-tqn

And move nearer to You

with the nearness of the
sincere

wa ad-na minka dunwal-mukh-lin

And fear You with the

fear of those who have
certitude

wa akhfaka makhfatalmqinn

And gather with the

believers in Your
vicinity.

wa aj-tami`a f jiwrika
m'l-mu-mnn

O Allah, whoever desires

evil for me, desire [it] for
him!

allahumma wa man
ardan biso-in frid-hu

whoever deceives medeceive him!

And make me one of the
most excellent of Your
slaves in Portion from
You,
And the nearest of them
in station to You
And the most elected of
them in proximity to
You.
For that cannot be
attained except by Your
bounty.
And grant generously to
me through Your
munificence,
And incline toward me
with Your splendour
And protect me with
Your mercy!
And make my tongue
remember You without
ceasing
And my heart enthralled
by Your love!
And be gracious to me by
answering me favourably,

wa man kdan fakid-hu

And nullify my slips

wa aqil-n `ath-rat

And forgive my lapses!

wagh-fir zal-lat

For You hast decreed

Your worship for Your
servants

fa-in-naka qaayta `al

i'bdika bi-i'bdatik

waj-`aln min aasani

`abdika naban
i'ndaka
wa aq-rabihimmanzilatam-mink
wa akha-ihim zulfatal-ladayk
fa-in-nahu l yunlu dhlika il-l bi-falik
wa jud l bijdik
w`a-if `alay-ya bi-majdik
wa-fan bira-matik
waj-`al-lisn bidhik-rika
lahij
wa qal-b bi-ub-bika
mutay-yam
wa mun-na `alay-ya
bius-ni ijbatik

And commanded them to

supplicate You
And assured them that
they would be answered.
So toward You, my Lord,
I have turned my face
And toward You, my
Lord, I have extended my
hand.
So by Your might,
comply with my
supplication
And make me attain my
desires!
Do not severe my hoping
for Your Favours

wa amar-tahum
bidu`a-ika
wa aminta lahumulijbah
fa-ilayka y rab-bi
naab-tu waj-h

And spare me the evil of

my enemies from among
the jinn and men!

wak-fin shar-ral-jin-ni
wal-in-si min a`d-

O He, whose pleasure is

quickly achieved!

y sari-y`ar-ri

Forgive him who owns

nothing but supplication

igh-fir liman-l yam-liku

il-ld-du`a

For You dost what You

wilt.
O He whose Name is a
remedy,
And whose remembrance
is a cure,
And whose obedience is
wealth!

fa-in-naka fa`lul-lim
tash

Have mercy upon him

whose capital is hope

ir-am-mar-ra-su mlihirraj

And whose weapon is

tears!

wa siluhul-buk-u

O Ample in blessings!

y sbighan-ni`am

O Repeller of adversities!

y dfi`an-niqam

wa ilayka y rab-bi
madad-tu yad
fa-bi-i'z-zatikas-tajib l
du`a-
wa bal-ligh-n muny
wa-l taq-' min falika
raj-

y manis-muhu daw-un
wa dhik-ruhu shif-un
wa 'tuhu ghinan

O Light of those who are

lonely in the darkness!

y nral-mus-tawishna fi-ulami

O Knower who was

never taught!
Bless Muhammad and
Muhammad's household!
And do with me what is
worthy of You!

y `limal-l yu`al-lam

And Allah bless His

messenger and the holy
Imams of his household

wa al-lllahu `al
raslihi wal-aimmatilmaymna min -lihi

And give them abundant

peace!

wa sal-lama tas-lman
kathr

al-li `al muammad

wa -li muammadin
waf-`al b m anta ahluh
