Interiors: 1. Interior shall be completely factory assembled with switching and protective devices, wire connectors, etc. All wire connectors, except screw terminals, shall be of the anti-turn solderless type and all shall be suitable for copper wire of the sizes indicated. Interior shall be so designed that switching and devices can be replaced without disturbing adjacent units and without removing the main bus connectors and shall be so designed that circuits may be changed without machining, drilling or tapping. Branch circuits shall be arranged using double row construction. Branch circuits shall accept bolt-on/plug-in type circuit breakers. A nameplate shall be provided listing panel type and ratings. Busbars for the mains shall be rigidly mounted and made of copper. Where not indicated on Drawings, bus bar rating shall be as a minimum be equal to the panelboard main circuit breaker frame size. Neutral bus rating shall be the same as the phase bus rating. The short circuit rating of the assembled panelboard shall be as shown on the Drawings. The minimum rating of panelboards up to 250 v shall be 10000 A ISC (symmetric), above 250 v the minimum rating shall be 14000 A ISC (symmetric).

7. Phase bussing shall be full height without reduction. Cross and center connectors shall be copper. Spaces shall be fully bussed. Provide a ground bus for equipment grounding wires terminations. Panelboards located in buildings remote from the main service switchboard shall be equipped for separate grounding means, shall contain a removable neutral link, a main disconnect and shall be approved for service entrance applications. The enclosure for a panelboard shall have the top and bottom wire bending space sized in accordance with NEC, Table 312.6 (B) for the largest conductor entering or leaving the enclosure. Side wire bending space shall be in accordance with NEC, Table 312.6 (A) for the largest conductor to be terminated in that space. Enclosure shall be of type 300 series stainless steel hardware. For outdoor locations enclosure shall be IP-66 or NEMA 4X rated. Not more than 42 over-current devices single pole, (other than those provided for in the mains) of a lighting and appliance branch-circuit panelboard shall be installed in any one cabinet or cutout box.

Overcurrent Protection Devices: 1. Circuit Breakers - General: a. Provide bolt-on/plug-in type molded case branch circuit breakers and main circuit breakers. Furnish frame sizes, trip settings and number of poles as indicated. Circuit breakers shall have their ampere trip rating, short circuit rating and operating voltage clearly marked and visible. Provide all breakers with quick-make, quick-break, toggle mechanisms. Automatic tripping shall be indicated by the breaker handle assuming a clearly distinctive position from the manual ON and OFF position. Furnish breaker handle that is trip-free on overloads. Do not use single pole breakers with handle ties or bails in lieu of multi-pole breakers. Provide handle lock device on breakers where so indicated on the drawings to prevent the manual opening of the selected breakers. Ensure that voltage and interrupting rating of all breakers in a panelboard is not less than voltage and short circuit rating of the panelboard main buses, as indicated or

Circuit Breakers - Thermal Magnetic: a. Provide breakers with thermal magnetic, inverse time overload and instantaneous short circuit protection for all poles. Where so indicated or specified, provide ambient compensated circuit breakers. Compensation shall be accomplished by a secondary bimetal or other approved means that will allow the breaker to carry rated current between 25o C and 50o C with tripping characteristics that are approximately the same throughout this temperature range.

Circuit Breakers - Instantaneous Trip Only: Motor circuit protectors being completely enclosed molded case devices with current sensing coil in each of 3 poles having adjustable magnetic trip setting by means of single knob on front. Motor circuit protector manually operable. Protector designed to meet NEC requirement concerning motor full load and lockedrotor current. Minimum interrupting rating equal to bus bracing required.

Box: 1. Boxes shall be made from unpainted galvanized code gauge steel having multiple knockouts except where noted. Boxes shall be of sufficient size to provide a minimum gutter space of 100 mm on all sides. Where feeder cables supplying the mains of a panel are carried through its box to supply other electrical equipment, the box shall be so sized as to include this wiring space. This wiring space shall be in addition to the minimum gutter space specified above and the limiting width shall be increased accordingly. At least (4) interior mounting studs shall be provided. Box identification number shall be on box.

1. Hinged doors covering all switching device handles shall be included in all panel trims, except that panelboards having individual metal clad externally operable deadfront units may be supplied without such doors. Doors in panelboard trims shall conform to the following: a. In making switching device handles accessible, doors shall not uncover any live parts. Doors shall have flush-type cylinder lock and catch, except that doors over 1200 mm in height shall have auxiliary fasteners at top and bottom of door in addition to flush-type cylinder lock and catch. Door hinges shall be concealed. All locks shall be keyed alike, directory frame and card having a transparent cover shall be furnished on each door.

The trims shall be fabricated from code gauge sheet steel. All exterior and interior steel surfaces of the panelboard trim shall be properly cleaned and finished with gray ANSI No. 61 paint over a rust-inhibiting phosphatized coating. Trims for flush panels shall overlap the box by at least 20 mm all around. Surface trims shall have the same width and height as the box. Trims shall be mountable by a screwdriver without the need for special tools. After installation, trim mounting mechanism or hardware shall not be accessible when panel door is closed and locked.

PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 A. 3.02 A. Inspection Visual inspection by Saudi Aramco Representative. Installation Mount panelboards such that the height of the top operating handle does not exceed 1980 mm from the floor. Panel shall be aligned, levelled and securely fastened. Connecting conduits shall not be used to support the panelboard. Panel directory shall indicate both in Arabic and in English, breaker position number, equipment served, room name and number. All conductors shall have label tags affixed prior to trim installation. All unused openings in panelboard cabinets shall be properly closed.
