JUDICIAL AFFIDAVIT I, ANDERSON COOPER, of legal age, single, American Citizen, resident of New York city, New York, after having been duly sworn to in accordance with law, do hereby depose and state: x------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------x PRELIMINARY STATEMENT: the person propounding questions to me is Atty. Juan de la Cruz, with an office address at 20th Floor, RCBC Tower, 6819 Ayala Avenue, Makati City. The examination is being conducted at the same address. I am answering his question fully conscious that I do so under oath and may face criminal liability for false testimony or perjury. PURPOSE: this affidavit/testimony of complainant, ANDERSON COOPER, is being offered to prove that accused, KORINA SANCHEZ made and uttered malicious comments and statements in her RADIO PROGRAM with DZMM to the discredit of my reputation as an INTERNATIONAL journalist. x------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------x Q1: Do you swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth during this examination? Q3: A3: Q4: A4: Q5: A5: are you the same complainant in this case? yes, sir I am. Do you know the reason why you are executing this affidavit? Yes sir. What is it? To narrate what happened during the course of my report regarding the effect of Typhoon Yolanda in Tacloban City. Q6: A6: Please tell me what happened During my Segment in CNN entitled ANDERSON COOPER 360, wherein I was reporting the devastation made by typhoon Yolanda in the city of Tacloban, wherein I at firsthand witnessed the destruction of the typhoon and the aftermath wherein I described it as total chaos, because people were desperate for food and other relief goods, because we were already in the 5th day after the typhoon and yet there is still no manifestation of organized relief operation by the Government in Tacloban City. Q7: A7: And then what happened next? The next day, which was November 14, at around noon, while I was doing my update on my blog, I came across a video wherein a local news anchor in the name of KORINA

SANCHEZ was being bashed by netizens for an alleged comments against an international journalist which at that time I have no idea that it was me. Q8: A8: How did u learn that it was you that was being commented by Ms. Sanchez? As I continue browse the same page, I came across and watched a video of her segment in the radio which was also a teleradio program, wherein she said that how dare me, and that I dont know what I was talking about in my report in saying that there is no government relief team in Tacloban during the 5th day, of course she said that in their vernacular. Q9: A9: So how did you learn what she said if it was in the vernacular? A part of my local crew in the area translated it to me, and also as I read through various comments of the netizens bashing her, I practically understand what she said.

Q10: During your report, did you say those comments that were being criticized by Ms. Sanchez? A10: No, Sir. Q11: What do you think made her said that, the comments against you? A11: I guess, she just misunderstood my report, and concluded that I said that there was no Government presence in Tacloban, which clearly I did not say, as clearly seen in the video of my report, that all I said was there was NO ORGANIZED GOVERNMENT RELIEF OPERATION, and that is far different from NO GOVERNMENT PRESENCE. Q12: So can you prove that she said those statements? A12: Yes sir, the very video that was televised wherein she made her statements to my discredit. Q13: why do you say to my discredit? A13: As we all know, as a news anchor for CNN, people not only here in the Philippines can see me, or recognized me, people around the world know me, with the advent of internet mass media, people will recognize me, and to make such a statement against me, saying that I do not know what I was reporting about, runs counter to my experience as a journalist for the CNN, and probably considered as a international figure in journalism, my reputation as such is injured by such statements.
