Emergency Overview: Appearance & Odor: Warning Statements: Clear liquid with mild odor. This solution is flammable and toxic. Avoid oxidizing agents, acids and metals. Avoid excessive heat, sparks, static discharge and open flames. This solution cannot be made non-poisonous. May be fatal if swallowed or cause blindness. The products main routes of entry are through skin contact, eye contact, ingestion and inhalation of the vapor. Potential Adverse Health Effects: Eye Contact: May cause eye irritation, redness, watering and itching, if irritation persists seek medical help. Skin Contact: May cause skin irritation, itching, scaling, and reddening The solution can be absorbed directly into the skin. Seek medical help if irritation persists. Ingestion: May be fatal and cause blindness. Seek medical attention. Inhalation: Vapor or mists may cause irritation to nasal and respiratory passages. Seek medial attention.

FIRST AID MEASURES


If in Eyes: PROMPTLY flush with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes, remove contact lenses if worn. Flush continually lifting the lower and upper lids. Seek a medical attention immediately. Remove clothing which has been saturated. Immediately flush skin with plenty

of water. Seek medical attention, as methanol can absorb through the skin. DO NOT induce vomiting. Rinse the persons mouth out with water NEVER give anything to an unconscious person. Call a physician or your local Poison Control Center and take to medical facility immediately. Treatment should be directed at the control of symptoms and the clinical condition of the patient. Remove to fresh air. Call 9-1-1, seek medical attention if difficulty in breathing continues.

FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES


Flash Point: 70 F; Flammable Extinguishing Media: Flammable Limits: LEL: 6% UEL 36% Use appropriate medium for surrounding fire such as dry chemical powder, alcohol foam and or water spray or fog.

Special Fire Fighting Procedures: Avoid open flames, sparks, ignition sources or static discharge, and reacts with metals. Provide for the protection of the employees and residents: Notify local authorities that firemen should wear self-contained breathing apparatus with full protecting chemical resistant clothing. See section 11 for toxicological data.

ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES


In Cases of Spill or Leak: Avoid skin contact and remove all sources of ignition! One must be specifically trained under OSHA 29 CFR part 1910.120 the HAZWOPER regulations to clean up a large or small spill. Isolate the area from others and call supervisor to allow the properly trained crews to clean up the spill. For small spills, ventilate the area, avoid skin contact, remove all sources of ignition, wear proper personal protective equipment, use inert absorbent to clean up spill, non sparking shovel into container and flush area with water. For large spills, contact emergency responders and secure area from everyone. Contact INFOTRAC 1-800-535-5053 for additional assistance.

7.

HANDLING AND STORAGE


Avoid excessive heat, sparks, static discharge and open flames. Wear PPE before opening the container. Please keep solution in a cool, dry place away from everyone such as children, food, feed and domestic animals. Prevent eating, drinking, tobacco usage, and cosmetic application in areas where there is a potential for exposure to the material. Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling.

EXPOSURE CONTROLS / PERSONAL PROTECTION


Eye Protection: Skin Contact: Chemical splash proof goggles or full face shield. To avoid skin contact on body wear impervious protective clothing, gloves and boots. Follow the manufacturers instructions for cleaning the PPE. Wear a vapor/particulate respirator (NIOSH/MSHA TC 23C) or equivalent if necessary. OSHA requires medical qualification to wear a respirator and proper fit testing documented. If possible wear supplied air or SCBA. Provide adequate mechanical ventilation Provide at all handling and application areas.

DISPOSAL CONSIDERATIONS
Wear proper PPE found in section 8. A person must be adequately trained by OSHA to deal with a large spill of this solution. Protect from excessive heat and contact with metals. Solution must be stored in a cool dry place away from children.
