Public Bible Discourse: What Is Truth? (John 18:38) If there is no truth, then we cannot trust medical reports, we would never fail exams, etc. John 18:38- Pilate asked Jesus this question John 18:37- Jesus said the truth this shows there is only 1 truth John 8:32- If we know the truth, the truth will set us free, even now. John 8:31,32 If we remain in Jehovahs Word, we can find the Truth. The logic is if 2 teachings are contradictory, both cant be true. Only 1 based on facts can be true. (Proverbs 2:4,5) For example, What happens to us when we die? Some say we go to heaven, or hell. Others say we will be born again as a human, or animal. We need to compare the Bibles teachings with other religious teachings and see which is reasonable. John 11:43,44 Lazarus came out of tomb when Jesus called. The account shows that when Lazarus came out, he didnt say much. If he was in heaven after he died, then when Jesus resurrected him, the Bible would write that he came out of tomb with angry face and ask Jesus: I was finally in heaven, such a beautiful place, and you bring me back to earth as a man to suffer again? Or if Lazarus was reincarnated as a chicken, maybe he would say to Jesus: Thank God you saved me! My last life as a chicken was miserable! But the Bible account shows that Lazarus did not say much. This proves that he did not go to heaven or reincarnate. John 11:11 The condition of dead = sleep. No suffering. Acts 24:15 both righteous and unrighteous will be resurrected. The Bibles teaching is fair (unlike other teachings, some go to heaven, some born as animals) There are accounts in the Bible that people witnessed the resurrection (Both of Lazarus and Jesus) The logic of the Bible is, if our Creator can create life, he can also restore life. This is the same as a builder, he can rebuild and restore. So God can create and restore over and over again. We need to study the Bible to find out if it really is the Truth.
