B. Cor. Preface Art is the most generous form of self-expression.

It allows the artist to tell a story, to convey his state of emotion, while excluding the unrelenting pressures of being face to face with another human, and their criticism of what realistically should not be judged. It allows both the artist and viewer to ignore the past and focus on what lies beyond them, and come face to face not with each other, but with their emotions. At least this is what art, in any form, should be. It is something that should never have boundaries, but should always manifest meaning. However, even this meaning should not have limits. It should be written in whatever way the artist desires; it is not art if you are impacted by the thought flow of another person. In many ways, art is selfish. It should be carried out with purpose. This purpose should never be to satisfy somebody else, but only to express your state of mind, and to possibly help others comprehend how it is you feel. In this way art is inspirational, making selfishness, in some ways, a positive attribute. Art should be done in a place where you can hear only the sound of your own imagination. There should be no clock ticking, mentally nor physically, as time limits interfere with both emotion and imagination. Art is one of the few things in the modern world that can and should be completed without the influence of the media. Therefore, it should be written in an area where personal, independent feelings can be easily accessed, and materialistic opinions can be banished. In this way, art is an extremely therapeutic form of expressing oneself. I believe that art should be for those who yearn for inspiration and awe. For those who see beyond the words and the structure, and allow themselves to experience how the artist truly felt throughout the journey of their creation. Art is priceless. The only people who are undeserving of it are those who wish to gain something other than inspiration or self-development from it, those who wish to materialise it. I also believe that art is something that should not be formally assessed, or corrected, by anybody other than the artist themselves. Yes, it can be judged and interpreted in any way the viewer sees fit, as this is a form of art in itself. However, this formal assessment blatantly creates boundaries, time limits and rules, things by which no artist should be influenced by. Pressure causes the imagination to become clogged. And, as previously mentioned, the only audible sound should be that of your own imagination. Finally, art should deal with unmaterialistic subjects, sometimes metaphorically. It is one of the few things left in the world that is so powerful the human race cannot seem to materialise it, no matter how hard they try. Art generates from the raw emotion inside of our minds, therefore it should deal with just that.
