I would like to thank the congregation for their kind gift of donation towards my upcoming procedure at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. I cannot put into words the love and support you have shown to me as a church family of Christ. This procedure is life changing for me, and I am grateful from the bottom of my heart to each and every one of you for the kindness you have shown to me. God has blessed me in so many ways and I am thankful to all of you for the love you have given me. Also, I would like to thank you all for the much needed prayer and support, as I continue with my battle against MS. Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful . Trent Timmer Rob and Jen Pennings and family were blessed with the birth of Owen George, on Friday, January 3. Jen was able to return home on Tuesday and Owen is still in ICU due to his prematurity. Meditation
THE WORD OF POWER When the prophet Ezekiel was set down in the valley of dry bones, very many and very dry, the God of Israel said to him, Son of man, can these bones live? What answer could he give? O Lord God, thou knowest! There was no other answer. When Gods ministers are sent to prophesy to men dead in sin, they do not know the results of their message. There is nothing in ministers themselves, nothing in the mere truth they utter, nothing in the present character of those they address that furnishes a favorable solution of this great problem. God only knows, because he only sees the end from the beginning, and he only is able to quicken those who are dead in trespasses and sins. There is but one source of light and hope: Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say unto the wind, Thus saith the Lord God, Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain that they may live! Now the death-like scene is altered; it is no longer the silent and motionless valley. There is a noise and a shaking; bone comes to his bone, flesh and sinews come up upon them; that field of death is transformed to an exceeding great multitude of living men, the strong pulsations of the warm heart are there, and there are voices of praise. So is it with every preacher of the Gospel, so far as it regards his perfect and absolute dependence upon the Spirit of God for the success of his ministrations. The treasures of truth are committed to him, and earthen vessel. As he is, that the Excellency of the power may be of God, and not of him. Never, till the Excellency of Gods power is revealed, is the power of the pulpit known. Nor may we hope that Gods mighty arm will be revealed, until this truth is known and felt. One reason why Gods Spirit is so often withheld is that this great truth is lost sight of; or, if not lost sight of, is coldly recognized, and does but form a feature of that languid and dead orthodoxy, which, while it may govern the views, has but very little to do with the heart. This is not the place which such truth deserves; it must be thought of, and prized, and leaned upon, and prove itself the most delightful of all incitements to effort. Just as the sinner, in the last stages of conviction, is driven from every other refuge to the power and sovereignty of that immeasurable grace which he has so long quarreled with, must the ministers of the Gospel, as well as those to whom they minister, after they have labored in vain, and spent their strength for naught and in vain, lift up their eyes beyond the everlasting hills, and say My soul, wait thou ONLY upon God, for my expectation is from Him! G. Spring Thank you so much for coming to worship God with us today. We hope and pray that you will be blessed among us and that you also will be a blessing to us. If you have any prayer needs or if you'd like to know more about our church, one of our pastors or elders would be very happy to speak with you. ______________________________

Other News
Mission Update For the year 2014, a new contract has been signed with AMG for education of the Achi children in Cubulco and the Aldeas. The contract has a food/clothing component to ensure that children have one good meal per day and are properly dressed. Children from 5th grade and up attend Camp Canaan and participate in devotionals, teaching, crafts and athletic activities. These children are both from the center and Aldean schools. It is hoped that 75 children will attend this camp, with an estimated cost of $4000. While this is not part of our regular budget, the board of FRMI feels this camp is a worthwhile venture and could be a fund raising project to consider for some of our youth groups. From Feeding America West Michigan thank you for your support in 2013! - 100 new food donors. Over 25,000 volunteer hours. And a record 20 million meals sent to people in need in West Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Food insecurity is on the rise in our community. Thanks to you, we distributed more food this year than ever before more, even, than in the darkest years of the recession. With cuts to public assistance coming in 2014 and unemployment still too high, that need isnt going away any time soon. Please call Plymouth Christian Elementary School at 458-4367 to pre-register your child(ren) as soon as possible.
