Personal Integrity is extremely important to me as a person and as an educator. I strive to be an example to my students how to make moral, responsible choices. I also hold a high value in being fair In an educational setting. I keep in mind that fair doesn!t necessarily mean that each student gets equal of something. It means that the student will get their needs met. One student may require more than another and that is still fair. I do my best to provide a caring, nurturing atmosphere in the classroom. I am also sensitive to cultural and individual differences. A Christian worldview drives me to look at everyone how Jesus does, which is out of a heart of love and respect.
Responsive educators who practice reflective critical thinking in their engagements with diverse communities of learners display: Responsiveness to the expectations and standards of the professional community Responsiveness to conditions that promote learning, health and personal safety in the P-12 school and community Effective communication within the educational community Commitment to fair academic practices that ensure all students can learn Responsiveness to the impact of discrimination based on race, class, gender, disability/exceptionality, sexual orientation and language on students and their learning Effective time management Appearance and dressing appropriate for one!s professional setting Comments regarding your strengths/areas for improvement (Responsive): X X X X X X X

I believe that I have an extremely high work ethic. By this I mean that I will go above and beyond and do whatever it takes to get my job done well. I strive to be constantly aware of the needs of my students. I attempt to collaborate with my colleagues on a regular basis in order to have accountability and informational resource. I also take pride in my appearance and come to work dressed professionally each day. One area that I could improve in would be time management. I need to prioritize in order to get everything done in a timely way. I am often up very late finishing up work or projects.

Comments regarding candidate strengths/areas for improvement (Informed):

I truly feel that I am an informed professional in the field of education and that this program has given me a foundation to be equipped in this area. Effective instruction is based on data. This is all part of truly getting to know the students under your care and their academic ability. When research is done how to best meet those needs, data will drive the proper instruction. This program has given me the skills to understand the current and immerging trends in the field of education. One area that I could serve to work on in the ability to synthesize and apply course content, projects, clinical practice and professional work. I believe this is something that, with cognitive effort, will strengthen with experience in the classroom over time.
