Grade 7 parents, please watch your mail for the Accountability Pillar Survey from Alberta Education. This survey provides the opportunity for Alberta Education and school authorities to ensure that we are equipping students for success. The Accountability Pillar uses a set of 16 indicators consisting of surveys of students, parents and teachers on various aspects of quality; student outcomes such as dropout and high school completion rates; and provincial assessments of student learning. All surveys are anonymous and ask questions about experiences with the school. Your participation in the survey helps provide important information on the quality of education your child is receiving, so please complete and return your survey promptly. Pioneer School uses this information to help provide direction for our Three-Year Education plans. As such, your opinion helps set the school's direction. Thank you, in advance, for taking the time to complete the survey. Bobbie-Jo Douglas Principal - Pioneer School

As part of her undergraduate work, a former WRSD student, Tara Neville, along with a colleague and under the instruction of her professor, Dr. Holder, are exploring happiness in children. There are two surveys; one for students and the other for parents. We would greatly appreciate families taking the time to participate in this valuable research. Further information can be found in the attached link. To complete the survey, please go to: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/eoh Bobbie-Jo Douglas PrincipalPioneer School

Parents and students can favourite the bus routes they use and receive push notifications when those buses are delayed or cancelled. All of this information can also be shared through social media sites, text messages and email right from the app itself. The safety of students and staff is a number one priority in WRSD and this app ensures everyone stays safe and on top of the status of their bus. The app can be downloaded by visiting the WRSD homepage or bus status page from an Apple mobile device or can be downloaded from the iTunes store.

A huge thank you goes out to: Jenny Gehlen for the donation of wonderful fleece material for our student population to use in CTS class and Vera McLeod also for the donation of material . & Chelsey Rae for the generous donation of many packages of sliced cheese for our Breakfast Program. As well as all the donations - big and small we have received from our community.
