Supporting Businesses in Wales through Creative App Development

www.cemas.mobi

A significant advantage of being based in South Wales is the close proximity to leading universities such as the University of South Wales Centre of Excellence in Mobile Applications and Services, which continues to push the boundaries of mobile development. We are looking forward to collaborating further with CEMAS to continue to attract highly talented individuals, and working closely with them on research and development projects. Will Jones, President EMEA Monitise

Introduction
It is my great pleasure to present this booklet describing our innovative support programme that aims at inspiring Welsh businesses to adopt and develop the latest mobile technologies and in particular mobile apps. The idea of CEMAS started in 2007, where through my own experience of starting a new company as well as interaction with a large number of small and medium size companies, I recognised that this new, innovative and fast moving sector requires new and innovative methods with which companies in Wales could be supported. The concept and programme matched the vision of the Welsh Government through the Welsh European Funding Office who partly funded the project. The innovative support CEMAS offers today spans from awareness raising about the latest developments in mobile technologies and apps and the opportunities they bring, to the support in defining the best product specification for the business, to de-risking the product development and finally helping to market and protect the IPR of the product. The first achievement was the formation of an excellent team of talented people who found a fertile environment to develop and flourish at CEMAS benefiting from the support of the excellent research environment at the University of South Wales. The results achieved so far are highlighted in this booklet and the accompanying inserts that demonstrate a range of products developed for SMEs in Wales and give a true testimony of the success of the programme. CEMASs mission and vision is clear: innovation with businesses for businesses in Wales. I sincerely hope that you can become a partner with us and help in achieving this vision. t was our first time as an exhibitor and we will most I definitely be back next time (or other shows)! We found that there was a healthy mix of industry professionals and interested parties that were able to freely mix with each other and a good variety of topics and testimonies being shared, a very successful show from our point of view. Well done to you and your staff at CEMAS. Dan Clemo, Managing Partner Sugar Creative Studios
