Introduce a SIM card with no data stored in its memory (no telephone numbers in address book and no text messages) and, if possible, remove the PIN lock. Power the system with a 13.8 Vdc and a minimum of 500 mA power supply. IMPORTANT: Connect a backup battery with 2 Ah minimum capacity, otherwise the system will not work properly during the calling phase. Wait until the yellow LED (GSM module) switches on in steady mode and the signal LED (green) flashes to indicate the GSM signal level (for example 3 consecutive flashes means good signal). For a complete explanation of the LED flashing logic, refer to the chapter below.
Note that speech diallers are completely inspected before being marketed and therefore it is not necessary to reset before the first programming.

FIRST PROGRAMMING

The system features 3 LED beacons: Yellow LED = this notifies the good operation of the GSM module, after the system is powered on (login into the GSM network executed and signal sufficient to optimal). When the login has been concluded the LED will turn on steady to indicate that the system is operating normally, and is not carrying out any activities. During any outgoing calls or dispatch of an SMS the LED will return to blink, to indicate that the GSM module has ongoing communication. Green LED = this notifies GSM signal strength; when power is given it blinks together with the yellow LED (GSM module). Once that the GSM module is working, the green LED will do n consecutive (2, 3, or 4) blinkings alternated by a brief pause, the number of blinkings indicates the GSM signal strength: 1 blinkings and 1 pause = signal scarce (the system will not work properly) 2 blinkings and 1 pause = signal sufficient 3 blinkings and 1 pause = signal good 4 blinkings and 1 pause = signal very good Red LED = this notifies a system anomaly (GSM module blocked, signal or network not found, SIM blocked by a wrong PIN): normally the red LED is turned on together with the simultaneous blinking of the GREEN and YELLOW LEDs. To return to the initial default programming you need to cut the power to the system (battery included), press key SW1 and keep it pressed when giving the power again to the system. After each reset the system will ask to select the language (0 ITALIAN 1 = other language); thereafter the system will start the initialization process.

MENU TELEPHONE NUMBERS

Note that between the name and the telephone number and between the telephone number and the call options you have to key in a space. The call options shall not have spaces between them, the letters can be in either lower or upper case

EXAMPLE: DAVID Mob. +393358978455 ab The options can be different from one telephone number to the other. They are: a: Answer confirmation (the system shall receive a DTMF tone # to define a call as successful, if this does not happen the system will call again the same telephone number with this option, for a maximum of times equal to the set number of call attempts) b: Direct access to user menu (the user with this option do not have to dial her user code to enter the user menu) c: Automatic reset of the call cycle (if the call to the telephone number with this option is successful the entire call cycle will be cancelled)
IMPORTANT: REMEMBER TO PLACE THE AREA CODE (+39 ......) IN FRONT OF EACH TELEPHONE NUMBER, TO LET THE SYSTEM ALWAYS RECOGNIZE THE TELEPHONE NUMBER OF THE INCOMING CALL. TELEPHONE NUMBERS CAN BE STORED WITHOUT NAME AND OPTIONS. THE NAME, TELEPHONE NUMBER AND OPTIONS ARE AUTOMATICALLY SCROLLED ON THE LCD SCREEN, ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN KEYED IN.

MENU PHONE NUMBERS (FROM 1 TO 200 - FOR PULSED ACTIVATION OF OUT3)

REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTION After setting the first 8 telephone numbers there is a telephone book containing 200 telephone numbers that can be only used for impulsive activation of output 3. Each of the number included in the telephone book (with the initial international code, as +39 for Italy) can activate output 3 in pulse mode by calling the system telephone number and letting it ring one time (the number ID must be visible): the system will recognize the ID of the calling number (if visible) and will activate the output instantly. NOTA: on these 200 numbers (other than the first 8 numbers) the system will not send the ring for confirm activation of the output.

By sending one or more SMS to the dialler you can: programme entirely the system enable/disable open-collector PGM outputs check the system status Operations can be divided in 2 categories: User operations Installer operations

PROGRAMMING BY SMS

Vision 3 Compact

TECHNICAL OPERATIONS
The installer has the option, after authorization by the user, to programme again the entire system. The parameters that can be programmed per SMS are the same you can change using the keypad; only the speech message must be locally recorded on the electronic board by using the keypad. If no message has been recorded the system will use the ones recorded by default (IN1 = robbery, IN2 = burglary, IN3 = technical failure).

* The user authorizes the technical operations by sending an SMS for enabling the technical programming. From reception of this SMS, the technician has 20 minutes time to enter into the technical menu.

The user has the option to enable/disable (in pulsed or steady mode) the PGM outputs, to monitor the status of each input, to check the status (on/off) of external devices, to change the user code, to allow the technician to enter technical programming in remote mode.

USER OPERATIONS

All the messages conveyed to the dialler must have a determined structure, otherwise any attempt to programme it would fail. Firstly they must contain a declaration of personal code . Example: UPWD:111111 User Password , TPWD:000000 Technical Password If the message contains one or more values for the parameters, their structure must be the following: ID[.index] operation [value ] [ ] contains numerical values that are not always necessary ID = is the parameter identified by an alphanumeric code (example: UPWD is the command User Password, INMODE is the command Input Type). (look at TAB. 1 for the complete list of IDs) [.index] = is the number of ID previously mentioned, therefore this is the output, input, telephone, password, etc. number (example: INMODE.1 = INPUT 1 TYPE) Operator = this brings about a certain operation on parameter identified by ID. For the outputs the operator sets a value to them (see TAB.2) : means entering, and is used for passwords (example: UPWD:111111) = means a setting (example: OUT.1=ON switches on output 1) ? is a request of information (example: IN.1? Asks for the input 1 status)

To give a command through an SMS, a few simple rules must be taken into account. For example, if the 2nd input needs to be associated to type EOL, first of all the user has to enable the technician to change the programming: UPWD:111111 LOCK=OFF this command enables programming through SMS for 20 minutes Now it is possible for the technician to give other commands, always preceded by the password: TPWD:000000 INMODE.2=B this command assign type EOL to the input. As you see from the example, EACH COMMAND HAS TO BE SEPARATED FROM THE PREVIOUS AND THE FOLLOWING ONE BY AT LEAST ONE SPACE AND NO SPACE HAS TO BE PRESENT IN A SINGLE COMMAND. It is possible to have spaces other than for separating commands only in the case they are between quotation marks, as in the following example: Storing of telephone number 1 (with name) and options Answer Confirmation and Automatic Reset of the Call Cycle: TPWD:000000 TEL.1=MARC MOBILE +393358554574 ac From the example it is clear that a space has to be used between the telephone number and its options -if there are any-, therefore if you want to store a telephone number with relative options you have to use quotation marks. 11 Vision 3 Compact

HOW TO WRITE A PROGRAMMING SMS

Quotation marks are also necessary to compose a text message:

Example: programming an SMS for burglary at input 1: TPWD:000000 SMSTEXT.1=Burglary at apartment Mr. Brown Tel. 02564887945 At each command the dialler will send one or more messages back including the results of the previous programming. For example if you send the following programming: TPWD:000000 INMODE.1=C INMODE.2=C INMODE.3=C VOXTEL.1=12345 VOXTEL.2=123 VOXTEL.6 =12 VOXREPEAT=3 In this example the technical password has ben entered; inputs 1, 2 and 3 have been set as NC; speech message 1 has been linked to telephone numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5; speech message 2 to telephone numbers 1, 2 and 3; speech message 6 to telephone numbers 1 and 2. At last the message repetition count has been set to 3. The dialler, after reception of the programming message, will immediately answer with an SMS as the following one: TPWD:OK INMODE1:OK INMODE2:OK INMODE3:OK VOXTEL1:OK VOXTEL2:OK VOXTEL6:OK VOXREPEAT:OK In case the dialler has not been enabled by the user for remote programming, it will send back the message LOCKED. In case the dialler is unable to perform a command (for example, user not authorized), will answer with FAIL. In case the dialler does not recognize a message (typing errors), it will answer with ?.

CALLS AND PROGRAMMING WITH THE VOCAL MENU

While receiving a vocal call from the dialler it is possible to perform several operations, depending on the programming (options) linked to the called number: NUMBER WITH NO OPTION: once the call has been answered, the dispatch is considered successful, therefore the dialler will call the following number. In case the user wants to enter programming, enter # and then dial the personal code.

RECEPTION OF THE VOCAL CALL

REMARK: LISTEN AT LEAST TO THE FIRST 5 SEC. OF THE MESSAGE, OTHERWISE THE DIALLER WILL NOT NOTIFY THIS CALL AS SUCCESSFULL AND THEREFORE WILL CALL THE SAME PHONE NUMBER AGAIN.
STOP A CALL WITH THE RESET CODE: once a call has been answered, PRESS # TO STOP THE MESSAGE AND DIAL THE RESET CODE (example #123#), the dialler will respond with the message call cycle stopped. NUMBER WITH OPTION A (ANSWER CONFIRMATION): In order to make the call to the number successful it is necessary to press #; if this is not done the system will call immediately the same number. In case the user wants to enter programming, he/she has to enter # and then dial the personal code. NUMBER WITH OPTION B (DIRECT ACCESS TO USER MENU): when the call is answered, after the message repetition, the dialler switches immediately to the user menu without asking the personal code. By pressing # the access will be anticipated. NUMBER WITH OPTION C (RESET OF THE CALL CYCLE): when the call is considered successful, the dialler will reset automatically the remaining calls. Important: when this option is activated, it is useful to activate option A as well, to be sure that the entire call cycle can be reset only by pressing #. NOTE: the above mentioned options can be entered for each telephone number; at each telephone number several options can be assigned.

12

Vision 3 Compact

CALLING THE DIALLER

If the answer is enabled, after the set number of rings, the system will accept the incoming calls, by keeping silent. Enter # and then enter the personal code. If the code is correct the user will be introduced to the user vocal menu.

USER VOCAL MENU

The vocal menu can only be entered by calling the dialler, or when you are called by the dialler; it is not intended to programme, but for remote operation by users (system check, output activation). Menu 1 contains the commands to activate outputs (3 outputs): it is possible to enable (in steady or pulsed mode) and disable a single or more outputs. Menu 2 allow a user to check the status of the inputs 1, 2, 3 and SYS (enabled or open/ disabled or closed) and of the outputs (enabled/disabled) in real time: their status are therefore listed by an automatic voice. Input SYS is intended for real time status monitoring of remote devices, which are remotely switched by using the dialler outputs. It is also possible to record two messages corresponding to activation or shutdown (example: alarm unit on, alarm unit off). Menu 3 allow a user to connect with a remote system (example: intercom) for two-way telephone communication. When the command is activated, ring output is activated (for ring simulation) and, simultaneously, the automatic voice will ask to wait.
