(alolos% the capital of Bulacan )he e'ternal campuses are9 Bustos Campus in the town of Bustos% Sarmiento Campus in the City of San :ose ;el (onte% the (eneses Campus in the town of Bula#an "s of the first semester of school year ./1.-./10% the university has a total enrolled student of 07%12< -Bulacan State Univerity% ./101 BulSU has a (anagement Information System -(IS1 office located at the ground floor of the =ngineering Building headed !y =ngr 4ogelio >imentel with only 7 staffs )he (IS office is responsi!le to ma#e relevant information availa!le in a timely fashion that is a necessary resource in organi,ation to support management% operations and decision functions )he (IS serve a !asic function as data collection or advance to initiating decision-ma#ing itself One of the services of the (IS e'tended to all the students of the BulSU is providing a portal to view their grades In the present set up% only two terminals are availa!le in the (IS office that may!e use !y the students in accessing their grade thus creating a very long &ueue Because of the !ig num!er of BulSus students and still increasing% the (IS office is e'periencing difficulty in accommodating the students ?ith those long &ueues% students tend to go !ac# the ne't day to view their grades without any assurance that they will no longer wait and during pea# transaction times for each new semester% lines are getting longer as well as each students waiting and processing time )he university is now implementing a no classcard policy and with that policy% another !urden to the students )hey are in the situation that they do not #now if they pass or fail the su!$ects they already too# since they have to wait to the

scheduled date of releasing of @4eport of AradesB which too# some time !efore releasing "nother thing is% if they have &ueries to the grades that appeared to the 4eport of Arades% it will ta#e another time to as# the faculty to re compute% re encode and re post the grade Usually the registrar% schedule the encoding of grades and sometimes it overlaps with the enrollment period% this would cause the unavaila!ility of the portal to accommodate students to give way to the faculty who will use the computer at the (IS office )here are times that there was discrepancy in the classcard and the grades in the portal Cor e'ample% an incomplete grade even completed already% an Incomplete -I+C1 grade still appeared in the academic program evaluation ?ith the current process involved and the mounting frustrations and complaints from students% faculty and university personnel ali#e% there is an urgent need to develop the universitys online student information system Crom the cited scenarios% the researcher came up with an idea of creating a students information system that will !e availa!le on line for easy access to the students anytime and anywhere )his hum!le proposal may innovate% e'pedite and lessen the !urden to the students accessing their grade )he BulSU On-Line Students In!or"#tion S$ste" #nd Ser%ices or simply @SISSB aims to provide an on-line access to students with regards to their records% ma#ing the records accessi!le will let them aware of their academic
