Our Children...Their Future...Bucks County IU
Everyday Leadership Initiative
The Everyday Leadership Initiative was created and designed to build staff capacity across our
organization.  As yet another goal of the BCIU Professional Education Plan and IU organizational
goals, this initiative's purpose is to develop and support leadership efforts at all levels of our
organization. This includes offering a multitude of professional development experiences to staff
so that each individual can enhance his/her leadership skills appropriately.  The hope is that the
BCIU will continue to build staff capacity so that each and every part of our large organization
thrives with established leaders at all levels.

The Everyday Leadership Initiative has been designed to support five targeted areas of potential
leadership including:

1.  Collaborative Instructional Management

2.  Organization and Time Management
3.  Professional Presentation Skills
4.  Mentorship
5.  Supervisory and/or Administrative Preparation

As a result, the BCIU will launch this series offering nearly 25 topics that support the five targeted
areas. Furthermore, this series will span an entire school year and offer nearly 50 hours of
professional development time relative to enhancing leadership.   See the IU Website for more
information at www.bucksiu.org.
