INTRODUCTION TO ENTREPRENUERSHIP
CONCEPT OF ENTREPRENUERSHIP78
The concept of entrepreneurship has been around a very long time, but its resurgent popularity implies a.Sudden discovery, as if we had stumbled upon a new direction for the American enterprise. This is a myth, as we shall see, because American system of free enterprise has always engendered the sprite of entrepreneurship. More important, our future rests squarely on entrepreneurial ventures founded by creative individuals who can at once disrupt a society and instigate progress.

DEFINITION OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP78
ntrepreneurship is considered to be a combination of ! ntrepreneur and ! nterprise. "rgani#ing an enterprise is termed as entrepreneurship. $ere enterprise is defined as a unit of economic activities or an economic organi#ation especially a business organi#ation. ntrepreneur is considered to be the owner of such enterprise. ntrepreneurship can be defined as a !creative activity, the entrepreneur being an innovator, who introduces something new into the economy, a new method of production not yet tested in the branch of manufacturing concern, a product with which the consumers are not familiar, a new source of material or of new mar%et hitherto une&ploited and of similar innovation.

'

DEFINITION OF AN ENTREPRENEUR78
An ntrepreneur is a person of very high aptitude who pioneers change,

possessing characteristics found in only very small fraction of the population. "n the other hand, anyone who wants to wor% for him or herself is considered to be an entrepreneur.

ROLE OF ENTREPRENEUR IN INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT

1. An entrepreneur creates an entrepreneurial culture in the society which is useful for the creation and development of many entrepreneur and enterprises.
.

'.

ntrepreneur provides goods and services to the people and "ther industries at the most competitive rates

.. Small entrepreneurs effectively utili#e various types of raw materials found scattered throughout the country in small quantities. /. ntrepreneur prefers to establish their units at their own place own locality. So there is no congestion of industries at one place which helps in creating an industrial climate in the whole country. 0. ntrepreneurs usually start small scale industries and provide goods and services at most competitive rates and hence, restrict the monopolistic activities of big business houses. 1. +ue to entrepreneur the wealth of the nation is widely distributed among various persons instead of going to few poc%ets only.

VOLTAGE STABILISER (.2 !VA TO !VA", UPS AND INVERTOR

INTRODUCTION7
P2)'0=& $ 3&1 01417
To)day lectrical Appliances are used widely using electrical energy which is

highly fluctuating due to various factors. -n order to provide constancy and adequate reliability of power supply, various electrical equipments are used in supply line. They are V)(&.>4 S&.53(3@42, UPS .*' I*%42&42.

V)(&.>4 S&.53(3@427
The Loltage Stabili#ers are used to maintain a constant A* Loltage from the fluctuating supply mains. This provides an out put voltage within a specified limit for supplying to load irrespective of wide fluctuations in the input voltage, independent of load factor and without introducing harmonic distortions. The Loltage Stabili#er ad:usts automatically the voltage variations whether high or low to the required voltage level necessary for the safe operation of costly equipment li%e 3efrigerators, Air conditioners, TL K L*3s, Hashing Machine and other valuable scientific and medical equipments, etc.

UPS7
G4S on abbreviation of uninterrupted power supply system continuously monitors the main voltage and provides regulated voltage free from spi%es and secures at the output. This is used instantly as safety measure in emergency or mains failure, load shading or during the irregularities of electric supply. "n mains failure, the -nverter instantly switches on and the G4S provides regulated 3MS voltage from the battery. +uring the irregularities, it provides a reliable constant source of supply for a limited time and acts as Loltage stabili#ers. A
11

regulated charger %eeps the batteries charged when the mains voltage is available. The bac% up time can vary from 10 minutes to the e&tent of ' hours, depending upon the capacity of the charger. The commonly used battery charged is for the period of '9 minutes to .9 minutes. There can be a provision of appropriate indications on the front panel. G4S are widely used in *omputer and -nstrumentation system.

This is a device which coverts +* power into an alternating source. This conversion may be accomplished by electro mechanical means li%e motor) generator sets or entirely by electronic means. -nverters in which power conversion is accomplished by thyristas BS*3sC are called static -nvertors. A static inverter uses transistors or thyristors as switched. -nvertors are used where emergency stand by power is required and @ or there is no A* power is available. Such applications are fluorescent tube lighting during power failure, in vehicles, in hospitals, airports etc. These also find wide uses as stand by power supply for computers, instrumentation and tele)communication equipment etc.

MAR!ET POTENTIAL7
Hide fluctuation in the power system in distribution line has necessitated the use of voltage stabili#ers to protect the costly and valuable electrical equipment. Similarly, the advancement in the field of electronics coupled with -.T. revolution has brought a prosperous feature for the growth of computers. "nce the lu&ury today the computers have become necessity and in orders to maintain the constancy of *omputer operation, G4S and -nvertors are used widely as standby power supply, automatically, without any interruption in the power system. The voltage stabili#ers G4S and -nvertors up to 099 =LA have been reserved for the manufacture in small scale sector and there being a tremendous growth of industry and uses of modern instruments. The demand of these produce is immense.
