V5+ extended voice prompt

Description It is a vendor extension to V5 interface standards for CDMA access system. When the called subscriber is unreachable for some reason that are unique in CDMA wireless environment (e.g. powered off, network congestion, or out of service area), the BSC system will notify the local exchange with extended cause value so that the local exchange can give the calling party more accurate and friendly voice prompt. Note that this extension also needs local exchange support. Value Range Setting Default 0: Not support, 1: Support Consult the LE operator before enabling this extension. 0.

Startup overload control

Description Enable or disable v5 data-link overload control. If it equals to enable, the system will start overload control procedure when the interface is overloaded. The overload control performs the flow control functionality. 0: Disable, 1: Enable Value Range

Confidential and Proprietary Information of ZTE CORPORATION

ZXC10 BSSB (V 8.0.1.9) V5 Interface Parameters Manual

Default Setting

0. If the user number under this interface is large, and the signaling data flow across the interface is always enormous, then this parameter is recommended to set as Enable to protect the interface from being congested. Note that when enabled, the system will discard some calls on its own discretion if the threshold of overload control is reached.

Related Parameters

Overload control buffer capacity Decrease step length

Overload control buffer capacity

Description This parameter specifies the maximum packet number permitted in sending buffer. If the number of pending packets grows larger than this value, the interface is considered overloaded, which triggers the overload control procedure. 40~800. 200.

Value Range Default Related Parameters

Decrease Step Length Enable overload control

Decrease step length

Description This parameter adjusts the overload recovering speed, in units of one packet. When the interface is in overloaded status, the system checks the number of packets pending in the sending buffer periodically, and if the number decreases to less than this value, the interface overloading is considered somehow alleviated, and then the control ratio decreases by one step to permit higher call pass ratio. When the overloading becomes more severe, this parameter is also used to judge if larger call control ratio shall be applied. The call control ratio determines the possibility of discarding a call because of overload protection. Refer to Overload Control Buffer Capacity for more details. Value Range Default 20~60. 20.

Voice Send Number Mode Signal Send Num Delay

Signal Send Num Delay

Description Delay while sending called number in signal mode. Some LEs require time delay to be added between the called number when AN devices send called number in signal mode, or else it influences the receiving number correctly. The parameter is designed as the special requirement. It influences both voice and circuit-data calls when set to 1. The delay duration may be changed in predefined timer configuration table of the system. Value Range 0, 1.

Delay sending allocation completion

Description Whether to delay sending ALLOCATION COMPLETE message. For some value-added services, the operator requires LE to play an announcement to the terminal after the subscriber hooks off. But in normal cases, the call setup period in V5 interface is shorter than that in air interface. And the terminal needs more time to establish the link than LE. So the subscribers can not hear the announcement by LE in the first few seconds. They may feel that the beginning of the announcement is lost. To solve the above problem, we can set this parameter Yes to delay sending ALLOCATION COMPLETE message from V5 interface. In this way, the terminal and LE can establish the link at same time and the announcement can be received by the subscriber completely. Value Range Default Setting 0: No, 1: Yes. 0. Set as needed.

Charge pulse mode

Description When real-time charge is needed, the network will guide the terminal to generate charged signals. In most of the cases, pulsed sequence (meter pulse) or polarity signal are used for this purpose. If pulsed sequence is chosen, LE periodically sends signals indicating a new charge period has expired, and BSC l

ZXC10 BSSB (V 8.0.1.9) V5 Interface Parameters Manual

forwards this signal to the terminal, which in turn generates the real pulses. The polarity signal is often indicates only the starting or ending point of the communication period of a call. If this parameter equals to 0, the system forwards to the terminal only the meter pulses whose character is defined by Duration of pulse, Interval of pulse and Pulse Frequency. If this parameter equals to 1, the system commands the terminal to change polarity at the starting and ending points of the communication period of a call, in addition to the meter pulses. If this parameter equals to 2, then all polarity changing commands from LE are restrained from being sent to the terminal without influencing the meter pulses. Value Range 0~ 2.
