Silenciar

[silence] [video installation / Brazil, 2013]

There is an opening in time where the past and the present do not exist. Instead, there is just one infinite now. This present is formed by the presents from an infinite number of worlds. In silence, these worlds make contact with one another and the nothing shows itself. [video documentation]

Absent/Present
[installation / Brazil, 2013]
The crystal becomes a window between two worlds. It is the same in both worlds where its movements are identical. In these worlds it is a vehicle of light and shadow. The crystal, being sensitive to space, spreads the light and the darkness. One world depends on the absence of the other. The presence of one defines the silence of the other and vice versa. These worlds are present and absent at the same time. [video documentation]

Entrelaando

[Interweaving] [video installation / Brazil, 2013]

Different worlds where diverse actions take place simultaneously with the same people. The ordinary actions are viewed as extraordinary events. These actions from different worlds speak to one another. There is an alchemy that turns the sun into a candle, the word into silence, the light into darkness. One action could be the product of the imagination of the other scene, a projection. It is being imagined by that which is being imagined. [video documentation]

Gaivota

[Seagull] [video installation / Brazil, 2012]

In Gaivota each image is true, no matter whether it is a reflex. A seagull hits the mirrors of a room. From on high she falls and then comes back to the top. When she comes back, because of the space traveled and the mirror textures, she becomes different. Like this, she returns constantly to the beginning. Her world is composed through repetitive cycles that configure spaces and times that fill the being. [video documentation]

Desterrar

[Exile] [video installation / Brazil, 2012]

Desterrar is the meeting of two dynamic forces. Their dance, very similar on every occasion, is repeated in different places. Small variations happen within each repetition. It might be a different body movement, shadow or gust of wind. Every moment turns into a unique and new experience. [video documentation]

Vaivm

[Swinging] [video installation / Brazil, 2012]

I see one image. A device presents it to me in that way. But getting closer, that image and the device are configured by multiple images that in a moment and space become a unity. This happens in a flowing movement. The images are composed by abstract devices that appear to be absolutes, but which reveal themselves in their true form with proximity and from a certain viewing angle. [video documentation]

Mergulhar

[Submerge] [video installation / Brazil, 2012]

In Mergulhar the real is configured by different samples of reality. Through the use of audiovisual images of different lengths we see opposite elements: daynight, fast-slow, heaven-earth, backgroundforeground. The result produced by this opposition is the meeting of two forces, a gap to generate the displacement of the real. [video documentation]

Momentneo
[Momentary] [Installation / Brazil, 2012]
The sunlight comes through the window and hits the floor, gently. The light moves slowly over it, generating a rhythm in that space-time. The movement of the light through the window does not make a strong sound. This sound goes unnoticed in the everyday. In contrast to the things we see every day in the city, the fast and slow rhythm is united in a moment. The meeting of those rhythms moves us from our routines and the way in which we decide to perceive the world. It might even become possible to listen to the silence of thought. [video documentation]

Encender del pixel

[Turn on the Pixel] [video installation / Brazil, 2011]
Democritus said that fire is the basic matter particle. Fire, sensitive and always in motion, is basic in everything I know. The video image is also made up of basic particles pixels of light. Encender el pixel increments the fire of the candle, the pixel, the wind and the public. Encender el pixel amplifies the basic. [video documentation]
