Be careful of what you wish for. If a Constitutional convention were to be calle d, everything in the Constitution is on the table.

That includes every amendment in the Bill of Rights. You may think it is unlikely that radical freedom restri cting measures would be adopted, but do you really want to take that chance? The Constitution is violated on a daily basis already. The language of Article V opens the free for all. It says Congress shall call a C onvention for proposing Amendments, Once in session, anything can be proposed. If that happens, you had better be able to trust your honest and honorable politic ians. Hold on to your Constitution, for if the Ame rican Constitution shall fall there will be anarchy throughout the world." ...D aniel Webster They claim that in order to force Congress to balance the federal budget, a Con Con(now some are referring to a States Convention...less ominous sounding) must be held, and the Constitution revised to include a Balanced Budget (BBA) Why have so many patriotic Americans which have warned that a second Constitutio nal Convention could easily be misused to weaken, or destroy, the very rights an d freedoms the Constitution was originally designed to protect!! If a coup has happened--- the last stage is for those who have taken control of the government to arrange for a change in that governments construction, form an d purpose! It looks as though this last phase has been to make the people believe their Fo unding Father's form of government no longer works(the government is broke...whi ch is a fraud, the President is out of control and is becoming a Dictator, elect ions are now rigged so your votes don't matter anymore, and Congress is helpless to reign in the Executive, the feds can't seem to protect an alien invasion thr ough the Southern border, etc.,etc.!!!)---and therefor go along with those membe rs of Congress and media pols who are saying in order to save it...WE HAVE TO AL TER IT!!!!! Like the man said, " Be careful what you wish for." And be careful w hat you allow those in power to do to your Constitution and Founder's form of go vernment!!! It only takes a simple Resolution passed by Congress to create the law making it necessary for the government to operate within a balanced budget( A Constitutio nal Amendment[or States convention] is not even necessary) And...what ever the C ongress has created---it can also put asunder!!! If Congress wanted to reduce t he size and cost of the Federal bureaucracy it can eliminate some of the more on erous Cabinets such as the Federal Education Department as well as the fraudulen t Federal Reserve bank created in 1913. If the Executive is acting like a dictator then he does so because the Congress allows it and has over the years created too many bureaucracies he oversees, whi ch burden the Private economic sector and costs the Private sector excess taxati on and an excuse for the government to unnecessarily borrow money at usury from a predatory banking cartel making it appear as the government has gone bankrupt over time like a Ponzi scheme! Enough is enough and the time has arrived to expose the fraud and begin making t he necessary changes to save what was once a new experiment with a new form of s elf-governance for the citizens of their own government! A plutocratic oligarchy has seized control of the government and the people must find the means and cou rage to extricate this oligarchy from the strangle hold it has on not only the U
