(1) MM 14 Gospel Campaign - Kingston

The MM14 Campaign Count Down to the End series has expanded at the National Heroes Circle with the erecting of a third tent. Hundreds have been flocking the tents nightly to hear the dynamic International Speaker and Family Life Educator Pastor Shian OConner. The meetings run daily with the exception of Thursdays. (2) MM 14 Gospel Campaign St. Thomas

The Footprints of Hope gospel series has started in Yallahs, St. Thomas with Pastor Glen O. Samuels. The Campaign is being held at the open lot in South Haven near the Fire Station. (click here for pictures of the opening night) --1--

(3) Convention 2014 St.Thomas

The Annual Convention for Zone 4 (St. Thomas) was held amidst showers of blessings at the Morant Bay SDA Church on Sunday, January 26, 2014. (Click here to read more and see photos)

(4) Funeral Service for Sydonie Phillips

The Funeral Service for Sydonie Beryl Phillips will be held February 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m at the Port Antonio SDA church. Sis. Phillips is the Mother of Pastor Manley Phillips, Pastor for the Meadowvale district of churches and Grandmother of Ass. Communications Director for EJC, Sis Fabia PhillipsLawrence.
(5) Notices from the Sabbath School / Personal Ministries / Comm. Services Department

1. The Jamaica Union Workshop which was scheduled for Sunday, February 2, 2014 in the EJC boardroom, has been postponed until further notice. 2. All School of Evangelism graduates for 2013 are encouraged to make contact with the EJC Sabbath School Department, if you have not yet done so. 3. The 2014-2015 Ambassador search has begun. We are encouraging all churches to have the juniors, teens and youth, ages 13-22 years to participate in this programme. Application forms & requirement sheets are available on our website www.ejcsda.com. 4. All Sabbath School Superintendents are reminded to ensure the conduct of the Parent Care Group (PCG) & Operation Reclamation and to register the relevant names to the MM14 Initiative.
(6) Notices from the Health Ministries Department

1. No organization can operate effectively without an operational budget. We are asking our Pastors to turn in their church budget by the end of March 2014. 2. Kindly take note of the following Stewardship dates: a. Stewardship Week April 19-26, 2014 b. Stewardship Convention May 3, 2014 c. Stewardship Training for Pastors May 5, 2014 (IAD,JAMU) 3. One of the tools to be given to the Pastors and Stewardship Directors in the churches is a series of Stewardship lessons for members called A Guide to Counsels on Stewardship. This includes ten lessons which can be conducted over a two months period. Please turn in an order for the number of lessons you need for your church. The cost for each book is $150. 00. We still have some paper back Councils on Stewardship for $100.00.

4. The Ministerial Department in collaboration with the Health Ministries Department of East Jamaica will conduct a Medical Missionary Training for Pastors An Introduction to Health Evangelism. The Programme will be conducted every Thursday in May Dates: May 1st , 5th 20th 22nd and June 5th. . The venue will be East Jamaica Conference Boardroom beginning at 9:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. Please register now: - Hydrotherapy and Nutrition, Vegetarian Cooling, Anatomy and Physiology, Herbal Remedies, Gods Healing Programme, Health Evangelism, Health Reform, Basic First Aid. These are some of the topics to be presented. 5. SDA Schools Temperance Week February 17 21, 2014 6. 5K Run/Walk and Childrens Fun Day June 1, 2014
(7) Notices from the Childrens Ministries Department

1. All persons, new and returning missionaries from zones 1-4 who have an interest in the mission trip to Belize are invited to a meeting and prayer session on February 1, 2014 in the EJC Boardroom beginning at 3:30 p.m. Parents of missionaries under 18 are expected to be in attendance. 2. The Childrens Ministries department will be having its fund raising fish fry and lap-a-thon in April and May respectively. Proceeds will be in aid of our Belize mission trip and childrens home. Contact your Childrens Ministries Directors for tickets. 3. ASI/IAD Mission Preachers get ready to preach the word in the Metro Mission 2014 Childrens Crusade. Invite your friends and watch them give their hearts to God. 4. Child Preachers Graduation will be held on March 8, 2013. The dress code is white dress/ black skirt and white blouse for females and black pants and white shirts for males. Kindly indicate any challenge that you might face with this dress code. Venue to be announced. The graduation list is attached. Kindly check the spelling of the names and indicate if there is any spelling error. 5. EJC Childrens choir practice will begin in March. CM Directors, kindly send us the names of five (5) children from you church as well as the names and telephone numbers of the parent/ guardian by February 14, 2013. Updates to follow. 6. Kindly send in your order for VBS certificates. 7. Church Selection of Bible Spell-a-thon participants - February 22, 2014. Kindly send us the name(s) of all the children who will be participating at this level by telephone, text or email by February 15, 2013.

(8) Womens Ministries Department

1. Committee members of the Mother Daughter Affair' are asked to meet with Sis. Cynthia Thompson @ 4:30 p.m. on Sabbath, February 9, 2014 under the Heroes Circle Tent. 2. We are pleased to inform all Girls of Eloquence Morals and Standards (GEMS) that there is a line available for you to text/call. This service is made available so you can make suggestions, express concerns, get support for the challenges you face, receive career guidance etc. The number is 781-1565. In short order other numbers will be available to you. 3. GEMS we need a picture of you or your parents in readiness for the GEMS Mother Daughter Affair. 4. Called to Serve; GEMS of Zone 1/ Clusters A and B, we need your assistance to serve as ushers at the Heroes Circle Tent on Sabbath February 8, 2014. 5. Womens Day of Prayer/ MOMS in TOUCH Launch March 1, 2014 6. Level 3 Leaders Certification Training (part 1) will be conducted from March 27-29, 2014 7. Team members every week you are sent a note from the desk of your EJC Director through the two PROs, Kareen Simpson (CM) and Samantha Allen (WM). 1. BIBLE BOOM 2014: Promises to be more inspiring, interesting and fun. The Books to be studied are
Hosea-Malachi. Every AYS must be on board as we want our youth to become men and women of the WORD!!! More info to come. 2. ZONAL FEDERATIONS: The Current Federation Presidents and Area Coordinators are asked to continue in their current positions until elections are called. (This will be done at EJC Youth Workshop). 3. PATHFINDER JAMBOREE 2014: All Pathfinder Clubs get ready to spend your Easter Weekend with hundreds of youth from Jamaica Union @ Pathfinder Jamboree 2014. Stay Posted for more details. --4--

4. GLOBAL YOUTH DAY 2014 /(GYD 2014): Start planning for this grand eventit will be bigger, and better than 2013! (Please give the orders for your T-Shirts to your Area Coordinators). The subsidized cost will be given soon. 5. JAMU E-News: The Jamaica Union is now inviting youth to submit news items, testimonials, clean Christian jokes, stories, significant happenings in your area and other articles to the EJC Youth Department for inclusion in its upcoming E-Paper. 6. YOUTH CONGRESS, Guatemala 2014: Closing Date for registration is January 31, 2014. Registration cost: $ US 80.00. Limited space!!! (10) Education To: All Directors, Pastors, Teachers, Elders and Education Directors Dear Brethren: Re: Education Symposium The East Jamaica Conference will be hosting an Education Symposium, on Sunday, March 9, 2014, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Andrews Memorial SDA Church. Some of the objectives of this Symposium are to:1. Look at ways to fund SDA Christian Education. 2. Sensitized the membership of the importance of Seventh-day Adventist Christian Education, emphasizing that education and redemption are one.

3. Help Adventist parents and church members to recognize how Seventh-day Adventist Education fits into the wider work of the church. 4. Understand their roles in the education of their children 5. To get members to adopt/sponsor a child at Kingsway High School 6. To increase enrollment in the schools 7. Its significance to the work & mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church We are extending a special invitation to you to attend, as we pool our ideas and plans to advance Christian Education. Hagley Park Prep. School 60th Anniversary Celebration The Hagley Park Preparatory School will be launching its 60th Anniversary celebrations at the Hagley Park Seventh-day Adventist Church, 114a Hagley Park Road, on February 15, 2014 @ 11:00 a.m. All students, past and present along with family, friends & well-wishers are invited. Keynote speaker will be Pastor Errol Thomas, veteran Education & Family Life Director and Youth Leader. Presenting soul-stirring music will be the 3-time JCDC Gospel Award Winners - the Hagley Park Prep. School Choir and the 60th Anniversary Mass Choir of the school. (11) Next Elders Association Meeting is February 23, 2014

The Elders' Association will begin their 2014 Certification Program on Sunday February 23, 2014, 9:00am to 1:00pm at the EJC Board Room. All serving Elders and Leaders are invited to attend and participate. Details of the Certification program will be given at the meeting.
(12) Special Announcements from Local Churches Washington Gardens SDA Church Presents Revelation Seminar The Washington Gardens SDA Church invites you to discover the truth about these end times as they host their Revelation Seminar with dynamic presenter, Elder Marston Thomas, ASI- Inter-America President, PhD, JP. Its a seminar with a difference. Come, participate and learn how to cope with the challenges of the present and secure your future. Learn about the seven seals and other truths for our time. The seminar will start at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 31 at the Washington Gardens SDA church, 41 Headley Avenue and will continue for the next 4 weeks on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7 p.m. Certificates will be awarded on successful completion. Be there, you will be glad you came. (13) Communications Department Live Streaming of MM14 Campaigns We are pleased to advise that live steaming of the Footprints of Hope Campaign in St. Thomas with Pastor Glen Samuels can be seen nightly at the following web portal. We are pleased to announce also that on Friday night live streaming of the Countdown to the End Campaign with Pastor Shian O'Connor will begin at 7:00 pm. Streaming will also continue on Sabbath Morning at 10:00 am for the Divine Service worship service. The live streaming can be viewed on the ejcsda.com video portal on the front page ( Bottom Right Hand Side of Front Page). News and Photographs of MM14 Events. Please be aware that photographs and news items relating to MM14 can be easily accessed through the Metromission14.com website and Facebook page which was set up for this campaign. Announcements and Promotions from Local Churches Please be advised that the cutoff date and time for notices from churches to be included in the Communication Advisory must be forwarded to the Communication Department by the latest Tuesday at 4:30pm. Failure to comply with this request will result in the information not being included in the advisory. --6--
