Weve learn a lot of things during the symposium.

It made us aware of the things about human trafficking, migration and being associated with foreign nationals. Most of the students usually think that they have better opportunities if they work abroad. So this symposium is really helpful. It gave the information about the right process if we want to work in a foreign country. It also give us tips on how can we managed our finances in order for us to save money and to control our spending. The statistics worldwide of human trafficking are astronomical. Women and children are the forerunners in abductions and sales, due to being used primarily for the sex trade. Around 80% of slaves are women and children. Allowing this to continue is an abomination on all humanity. By continuing to turn a blind eye we are saying to the world that i ts ok to steal and sell women and children for dubious reasons. Since trafficking is a very lucrative business, poorer nations allow it to happen to support their armies and their pleasures. What does allowing this to happen, as a world power say to our future generations? Does it say that as long as we make money or have fun; at the expense of other human beings, its ok to pretend its not wrong? Migration may be good for the vast majority of the migrants themselves. They find new economic opportunities and in the special case of refugees, new freedoms. It emerges, however, that their migration in the main runs counter to the real interest of both the countries of origin and the recipient countries, and the world as a whole. This is true whether the analysis is conducted in the traditional growth framework, or in the context of the stationary state. What first appears as a new area of conflict between the interests of the individual and those of society, is really a conflict between the interests of the individuals who migrate and those who do not. It is time for the larger and longer range interests of the latter to prevail. We need in particular to give more weight to the interests of the unseen countrymen of the immigrant who are left behind, to live with the conditions the migrant might have helped to change. The symposium also gave us information on how we can avoid being a victim of human trafficking. The video presentation served as a warning of what may happen if we will not be careful. And if we trust other people easily just because they promise a better life in a foreign land, we may end up being like those girls who were abused physically and sexually. The symposium also discuss inter marriage. Nowadays it is there are a lot of Filipino citizens that are marrying foreigners but according to the speaker in the symposium there is a lot of citizen who married a foreigner even though they knew very few information about the person they are going to marry. It is really alarming hearing those things and this symposium made us aware of those things. Our country has been in the hands of a lot of different conquerors for hundreds of years. Back then we used to be their slaves and follow all their rules and what they want us

to do, afraid of the consequences that it may bring if we refused. And now we can still see the same thing. A lot of Filipinos are victims of slavery in other country. We still think that they are superior compared to us so we dont have the courage to fight for ourselves which is clearly wrong. We being under their control have ended years ago so we should not allow them to abuse us physically or sexually. Slavery has been part of the human condition throughout recorded history and everywhere on the globe. It is a human rights crime of the highest nature. We have to live to a higher moral standard than that created
