YJC PW Committee 2006, led by VP Wong MW (Sim Hock Seng Steven, Jennifer Liou-
Lim Choon Yeoh, Samsiah Sanip, Eliza Gunasagaran, Patrick Timothy David )

Integrating the teaching of General Paper and Project Work was the brainchild of Wong MW
and work on this started in June 2004 and was implemented in YJC in 2005. In the 2006
cycle, Wong MW charted the new direction for the integration, aimed at producing thinking,
articulate students who have well thought-out opinions and are open to new perspectives and
ideas. Jennifer Liou and Samsiah Sanip mapped out the scheme of work aimed at achieving
these desired outcomes and guided the teachers in the implementation and assessment of the
integrated teaching of General Paper and Project Work. Eliza Gunasagaran and Patrick
Timothy David guided teachers in the instruction and assessment of the Project Work
processes. Steven Sim was overall in charge of General Paper and Project Work as the
department’s General Paper teachers taught both subjects as one.
