They were forced to do labor like slaves, there were starved, beat, and killed. This picture shows many human beings dead on the ground, while having solders around standing and posing to get their picture taken. The Helsinki Accords were the most important documents to come for modern Europe for that fact that without them a lot more people would have suffered, and possibly killed.

The Helsinki Accords were vital for the survival of many human beings. This picture shows how 5 kids have been starved to an extent of almost death. No human should go through that, and thanks to the responsibility of government officials, they created the accords to preserve, enforce, and protect the rights of human beings around the world.

Giving information that supports the right of humans not being able to be looked upon as slaves, giving a peaceful way for citizens to travel through countries. And stating that no government, society, or human beings has the right to destruct the rights and freedoms set forth in the Helsinki Accords. "Anti-religious Campaigns." Anti-religious Campaigns. Library of Congress, 22 July 2010. Web. 10 Jan. 2014. <http://www.loc.gov/exhibits/archives/anti.html>. This source gives information on how the Soviet Government violated the right of religion. Thus giving an excellent way of showing how the Helsinki Accords changed how the government enforced it's citizens. The Soviet Union did not just violate the right of religion, but they would confiscate church property, and harass believers. This is a way of violating human rights. If the Soviet Government thought that something was threatening their government they would eliminate the source. In this case religion was a threat to the communist government, thus this would leave to believers being executed and maybe taken to prison camps like the Gulag camp to be forced to do harsh labor.
