About the institute Under the aegis of our Honourable Chairman, Col. Dr. Jeppiaar, Jeppiaar Engineering College was inaugurated on 15th August 2001 as one of the spearheading institutions of Jeppiaar Educational Trust. The boundless energy of Dr.Regeena Jeppiaar, Director and Dr. Sushil Lal Das, principal of the college, is also a source of inspiration to our students. Jeppiaar Engineering college is affiliated to Anna University and in the short period it has grown into an institution that provides excellent technical education while keeping the overall growth and development of the students in mind. About the conference The National Conference on Methods Enriching Power and Energy Development (MEPED 2014) on March 26, 2014 is organized by the Department of Power Electronics and Drives. The main aim of the conference is to provide a platform for the research workers to expose their ideas in the field of Power and Energy. The world demand over power is the major factor reflected from every individuals basic requirement. The power demand in India is increasing everyday. The research works are under practice over years to satisfy the power demand. The major factor on this demand is the energy production, quality of power and utilization of power. The power production from renewable energies like Solar, Wind, Hydro etc., provides a greater advantage by reducing the polluting power generating sources, thus providing a clean and green environment. The power quality basically depends on the generation, transmission, distribution and utilization. Everyday new technologies are being adopted to meet the above needs.

Scope of the conference The technical session of the conference will include key-note address and original paper reporting theoretical and experimental research works. Topics of interest include but not limited to Renewable Energy, Hybrid Energy Intelligent Controllers for Power Engineering Advance Power Module Techniques Power Quality, FACTS HVDC Advance Speed Control of Drive Systems Who shall attend? The Conference is aimed at the audience from industries, academicians, researchers and PG scholars from engineering colleges in EEE,EIE ECE disciplines. Paper Submission The paper should be original, unpublished research work that is not being currently considered for publications in any journal or conference. The paper prepared must be in accordance with MEPED14 format not exceeding six pages. Atleast one of the author should register and present.
