CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS of the BURLINGTON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COUNTY COMMITTEE In accordance with and as provided by N.J.S.A.

ARTICLE 1 - NAME The name of the organization shall be the Burlington County Democratic County Committee (County Committee). ARTICLE 2 - PURPOSE The County Committee shall be the official Political Organization within the County of Burlington ursuant to !.".#.$. %&'()%* et. se+. The ur ose of the Committee is to ,irect the affairs an, further the interests of the Democratic Party in Burlington County- romote the rinci als an, latforms of the Burlington County Democratic Party- ser.e as the grassroots organization for mobilizing Democrats- an, to assist in romotion an, ,e.elo ment of goo, go.ernment whether national* state* county or munici al. ARTICLE 3 - MEMBERSHIP Sectio 1! The County Committee shall consist of one ,uly electe, male an, one ,uly electe, female from each ,istrict in Burlington County. /embers of the County Committee shall be electe, biennially at the rimary for the general election in e.en numbere, years in the manner ro.i,e, in Title %& of the 0e.ise, #tatutes. $ll members of the Burlington County Democratic Committee shall resi,e in the ,istrict from which they are electe,* shall be registere, as Democrats an, shall be eligible to .ote. The terms of all members of the County Committee shall be for two years. County Committee /embers shall ta1e office on the first #atur,ay following their election. Sectio 2! "#c# c$! $ .acancy in the County Committee shall e2ist when a member of the County Committee ,ies* ceases to be a resi,ent of the ,istrict from which electe,* changes his3her arty affiliation* resigns from his3her office or otherwise can no longer ser.e in his3her office. 4n the e.ent of a resignation* the .acancy shall e2ist u on acce tance of the resignation by the /unici al Committee (or County Committee* if none) of which he3she is a member. $ .acancy in the County Committee shall be fille, for the une2 ire, term by the re+uisite /unici al Committee* com etent to ta1e action accor,ing to its by)laws. 4f there is no such /unici al Committee* then the .acancy shall be fille, for the une2 ire, term by the County Chair. Section 12. Election of Officers. The County Committee shall elect a County Chair erson an, County 7ice Chair erson* a Treasurer* 0ecor,ing #ecretary* Corres on,ing #ecretary* at the reorganization meeting. These officers shall be electe, an, shall erform such ,uties as ro.i,e, by law. The Chair erson may a oint other offices which may inclu,e a #ergeant)at)$rms an, Parliamentarian who shall be se arate in,i.i,uals* who shall ser.e at the leasure of the Chair erson. Their terms shall run concurrently with the term of the Chair. The election of officers shall ta1e lace at the bi)annual organizational meeting by of the Burlington County Democratic Committee. The officers shall ser.e for a term of two (@) years until the election an, +ualification of their successors. The tem orary Chair erson of the biennial organization meeting shall be the out) going County Chair erson. 4n the e.ent that the out)going Chair erson is a can,i,ate for Permanent Chair erson in a conteste, election* then the out)going 7ice Chair erson* 0ecor,ing #ecretary* Corres on,ing #ecretary or Treasurer* in that or,er of reference* shall ser.e as Tem orary Chair erson. 4n the e.ent that the entire out)going slate of officers are can,i,ates for a ermanent office in a conteste, election* then the out)going Chair erson shall a oint a Tem orary Chair erson for the ur ose of con,ucting the election. #! E)ectio Co33ittee Prior to the commencement of 8lections* the Tem orary Chair erson shall a oint an 8lection Committee. The ur ose of the 8lection Committee is similar to an 8lection District Boar, on 8lection Day an, is res onsible to su er.ise the selection of the Officers of the County Committee. The 8lection Committee shall consist of fi.e county committee members . 8ach Chair erson slate shall be allowe, to ,esignate one in,i.i,ual to ser.e as members of the 8lection Committee. The names of the Committee ersons ,esignate, by each slate to ser.e as 8lection Committee members shall be forwar,e, to the Tem orary Chair erson no later than ('AA .m.*fi.e calen,ar ,ays rior to the reorganization meeting.
